In hope I’m joyful,

Patient in affliction,

In prayer I’m faithful:

This is my conviction

V1. When I’m hard pressed on every side,

I’m not crushed, not perplexed,
I won’t even get depressed.

If I’m ever persecuted,

Can’t be struck down, an abandoned soul,

I’m not destroyed, He makes me whole.

V2. Although I cannot see it

I just pray and not despair,

God is faithful to my every prayer

Like Abraham I have faith and hope,

I am sure of all I beseech

For what I hope, I will reach.
