CHRISTIAN PORN!!!
Written By Christopher Mentzer
The title of this article is quite the contradiction of terms. You have both spiritual and carnal words side-by-side attempting to go together. Naturally they don’t and Jesus says so in Matt. 6: 24, “No man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”
With that being true, you ask yourself, ‘What kind of title is this for a bulletin article?’ It’s an example of an actual website that exists today. A group that calls themselves XXXChurch.com is a forerunner for religious people taking a stand against pornography. While I herald this kind of stand, just as Paul appreciated those in Athens (Acts 17: 22-28), I’m confused by two things. 1) They call themselves X3 church; ‘XXX’ represents the rating for pornographic movies and 2) Their slogan is “The #1 Christian Pornsite”. How can you stand against something and put what you stand against in your slogan and website address?
I’m reminded of what the apostle
Paul wrote to the church in Rome, “21 You, therefore, who teach
another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that a man should not steal,
do you steal? 22 You
who say, “Do not commit adultery,” do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols,
do you rob temples? 23
You who make your boast in the law, do you dishonor God through breaking the
law?” (Rom. 2: 21-23 NKJV) The question to ask then is, “He that teaches
against pornography, do you call yourself a Porn Website?”
Another
example I’ve noticed is that when there is a big pornography convention, these
people are right in the middle of it.
Some might say that is good as they can really make an impact being ‘in
the thick of things’. However, given
the size of your basic convention center, it isn’t difficult at all to avoid
their booth to continue to indulge in your carnal pleasures. Their best offense would be right at the
front door before they even set foot in the building. Paul wrote, “Wherefore Come ye out from among
them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, And touch no unclean thing; And I
will receive you.” (2 Cor. 6: 17)
And yet
another thing that I’ve noticed is that they have debates with an actual porn
star on the issues of pornography and yet nothing is resolved! What I mean is, neither side budges but yet
they are very ‘good friends’. Isn’t
this the same thing as being friends with Satan? “Oh sure we don’t see eye to
eye on everything but we agree to disagree.”
That’s a very unrealistic outcome and yet here it is in reality!! Paul said in Eph. 5: 11-12, “and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather
even reprove them; 12. for the things which are done by them in secret it is a
shame even to speak of.”
The bottom line is that
this website is a perfect example of 2 Cor. 11: 13-15, “For such men are
false apostles, deceitful workers, fashioning themselves into apostles of
Christ. 14. And no marvel; for even
Satan fashioneth himself into an angel of light. 15. It is no great thing therefore if his ministers also fashion
themselves as ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their
works.”
Here’s a warning given
in Rev. 21: 8, “But for the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and
murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their
part `shall be' in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the
second death.” And again in Rev. 22: 14-15, “Blessed are they that wash
their robes, that they may have the right `to come' to the tree of life, and
may enter in by the gates into the city.
15. Without are the dogs, and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and
the murderers, and the idolaters, and every one that loveth and maketh a lie.”
Pornography is
dangerous and addictive! With so many
websites that allow one to view porn for free, it could permanently damage your
soul. Remember what Jesus said, “But
seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be
added unto you.” (Matt. 6: 33) And
Paul supports this in Col. 3: 1-2, “If then ye were raised together
with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the
right hand of God. 2. Set your mind on
the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth.”
On the Day of Judgment when these
creators of the website present their case to Jesus they most likely will hear
him say, “I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
