History is written by the
winners.

This is how most people view religion today:
1.
The Roman
Catholic Church is considered the main focus of the world’ religion. When people talk of “The Church” they are
referring to The Pope and The Vatican.
2.
Billy Graham is
considered the Spiritual leader of the
3.
“Unity in Diversity” is the prefer religion;
worshipping God however or wherever you want.
4.
“Christian” is a
mainstream term meaning anyone who believes in God.
5.
The Rapture and
“Left Behind” are the leading beliefs for Jesus’ return.
How
is all of this possible? As the title of
the article suggests, “History is written by the winners.” Influential people make the results we want
not what we need. It used to be that the State and the Church were the most
influential powers of the country. Not
true today. Today’s powers are the
“Unholy Trinity” of School, Hollywood entertainment and the Media.
With the state, you can oust people in power by voting for
someone else and no church requires you to attend. However, unless you have lots of money, you
don’t have a choice of which school you attend, producers and directors are not
voted in or out of
Here are some examples:
more people believe in the “Left Behind” theory because of the highly
popular “Left Behind” book series by LaHaye and
Jenkins. Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ movie is
considered the best biblical interpretation of Jesus’ crucifixion. Schools teach evolution because there is more
“substantial evidence” and creation is simply too religious for a science
class.
The
apostle John wrote, “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but prove the
spirits, whether they are of God; because many false
prophets are gone out into the world.” (1
John 4: 1)
The apostle Paul
wrote, “Try your own selves, whether ye
are in the faith; prove your own selves. Or know ye
not as to your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you? unless
indeed ye be reprobate.” (2 Cor. 13:5)
Although
history may be written by the winners, it doesn’t mean they are right. Do not measure your beliefs by what people
tell you to believe but rather what the scriptures say. (2 Cor. 10: 12-13)
