123 miles to freedom now,
I'm moving half that.
Light illuminates a cosmic pegboard,
to which I smile and fall prey to.
Eyes drift from the enigma,
and I fall to an abrupt halt.
My eyelashes gain weight in fast motion,
the guise of sleeplessness no longer exists.
Boundaries turn back into lines,
protection is devoured by the sandman's touch.
Drifting over imaginary borders,
that were never really there in the first place.
White and dashed, separate but equal, just for our protection...
joke.
Yellow, bold, the one defense, the only protection...
destroyed.
All visible to an untrained eye.
Too bad I'm not looking.
243 miles traversed,
Edison's masterpiece takes my breath.
Stilted torches line the path,
beacons of light, swordsmen honoring their brethren's love.
246 miles,
my scribed directions seem faded,
but I never needed them.
Eyes with overweight eyelashes converge on one note:
"Distance: 243 miles
Approximate Time: 4 hours, 30 minutes
Start Point: Home
Destination: Unknown
Reason: Love"
I'm home.
