My first experience with the band called Mest was 2 summers ago at a Blink 182 concert, they were on a extremely small sub stage playing about an hour before the concert itself. They rocked and were crazy as hell on stage, the bassist dropped his guitar in the bushes and some guy picked and up and tried to run away with it, quite funny. Anyways, the cd itself rocks pretty hard too. "Opinions" is a great start off song because it takes on its own meaning and is pretty fast, gets the blood flowing. Yesterday is ok, seemed like it just got thrown in there though, its kinda upbeat but not that great. The title track, Cadillac, is a pretty rockin song that blends hip op with straight punk. The song is all about partying with your friends "with the top down, seat back, rollin in my cadillac" The next two tracks, Another Day and Without You are my two favorite tracks. Another Day is about always giving in and being taken advantage of but you always live to fight another day. Without You is your typical breakup song, "I warned you I told you I'd be better without you." is the first line and sets up for the rest of this song. Fuct Up Kid is exactly what the title displays, its about being a fuct up kid, nuff said. It's Over is a song for friends who are under the spell of women, (shudder), and then seeing them get their heart broken. Such a sad tale. One of the coolest songs on this cd is Reason, its got like Mexicana Reggae Punk all mixed up, the song itself is that loathing feeling for that special girl. Its all about getting her out of your head. Breakin' Down is about the test of time on a relationship, the song expresses that it took its toll on this certain relationship and how its "breakin' down." I like this song cuz its a little more upbeat than the others. Chelsea is another weird song obviously to Chelsea, the first line proclaims "I thought you were the one But I was wrong cuz You're already left and I hope That you miss me Tonite Chelsea." This song is almost a time line of this guys relationship with a girl named Chelsea, starting from a year ago. The song has good background music but the lyrics go a little bit too slow, its a cool song though. Misunderstood is about censoring yourself for the sake of others, really just never really expressing your real feelings. I like this song a lot cuz I relate to it so much because I am always holding myself back for other people. Drawing Board starts out with some old school Nirvana like guitar riffs and slowly gets into some new age punk, its one of those songs that starts slow and gets faster. The song itself is about trying to express yourself to a girl through song but not being able to find the right words to sing. This is probably my single favorite song on this cd because of the music itself, not just the lyrics. Mother's Prayer is another single off the cd to one of the band member's mother. This is almost just a song about death but it definitely shows that its to someone, "Don't worry, you'll be fine, its only a matter, a matter of time, as she sits back and finishs her whine, she prays to the lord I'll be fine." The final track, Living Dead is a good song to end it with. The song is kind of fast paced, its all about moving on to better things in life, if you wait a few seconds it has almost like a bonus track that I don't know of any title, almost a continuation of Living Dead with a trumpet in it, yea trumpet solo. There isn't much to it besides that. Overall I would say that this c.d is cool but not for everyone, if you like typical punk like Blink 182 or New Found Glory I would suggest checking out a few of their songs before buying it.
