Medal of Horror: End of the Line

Medal of Honor: Frontline has got to have the worst controls to ever hit the Playstation 2. I had played such titles as Resident Evil and Mark of Kri and I thought they had bad controls but this takes the cake. For one you use every button on the controller including the L3 and R3 buttons (one for melee attacks and the other to center your crosshairs) AND you have to use BOTH control sticks to maneuver your guy. I felt like I was playing the mighty Gaylo on a PS2, I HATE USING BOTH CONTROL STICKS. Anyways, the game takes place on D Day and the landing at Utah and Omaha beach in Normandy. As you exit the boat the Germans of course open fire, and now the fun starts. You finally get to witness these horrible controls for yourself. If you thought the guys in the boat puking was gross wait till you notice the big green and brown stains on the front of your own t-shirt, these controls are enough to make anyone puke. Well you have to cover some of your guys and let them get past enemy fire, after you save four of them you have to break through some barbed wire. This is where the game actually got good, the guy next to you screams "FIRE IN THE HOLE", whatever you do, DO NOT MOVE. You have successfully died at the hands of friendly fire. Hmmm, be happy right now, I saved you from staining that beautiful shirt your wearing.

Graphics: 8/10, the graphics are actually quite good, just a few jaggies that could have been rendered right out.

Sounds/Music: 4/10, they didn't do anything here except loop a sound file of guns firing, its quite lame.

Storyline: 8/10, only because its based on quite possibly the coolest American invasion in any war it gets a decent 8.

Controls: 0/10, I have played NES games with more responsive controls than this game has. If your really into spilling your guts on mommy's new carpet give this game a whirl.

Replay Value: I wouldn't know, I didn't bother playing past the first mission.

Overall: 4/10, This game could have been a lot better if they had used better controls, anyone who enjoys this game has gone through NASA's top space programming, gotten really dizzy before, and ate lots of raw hot dogs as a child.
