Luigi's Mansion
Luigi's Mansion.....(Gamecube)
Finally a game starring everyone's favorite side kick. Luigi has won a mansion! SWEET. This is so awesome that Luigi gives Mario a call and wants him to meet him at the mansion to celebrate! Wow, this is great news for the brothers plumbing. When Luigi arrives the mansion is quite errie and he is cautious about going in. He enters and ghosts are everywhere, Luigi has been suckered into winning a HAUNTED MANSION. As the ghouls of this dark palace move in on poor Luigi an unlikely event occurs. A man half of Luigi's size jumps in and saves the day with what appears to be a vaccum cleaner of all things. He introduces himself as Professor E. Gadd and explains that the vaccum cleaner is his new invention, the Poltergeist 3000! The Professors ghost paintings have all been released from their frames and into this house and he asks you to retrieve them all for him using his Poltergeist 3000 and you of course agree thus beginning your adventure. But then you remember, WHERE IS MARIO? The Professor recalls seeing someone who looked a lot like Luigi but wearing red go to the mansion and you reach the conclusion that the ghosts have him. Now for the first time ever, Luigi is shaping up to be the big hero, with Poltergeist 3000 in hand and enough courage to walk in the front door of the mansion, Luigi embarks on his first journey.... alone.
Graphics: 9/10, this game has really cool in game graphics and in the cut scenes you can hardly tell the difference between them and gameplay. I especially loved the Bowser in this game.
Sound/Music: 9/10, the music is actually perfect for the game. Errie organ music that Luigi always hums under his breathe to ease his nerves.
Storyline: 5/10, this of course being a Luigi (not Mario!) game made it have not much of a deep storyline, just typical, save Mario :-)
Controls: 9/10, I liked the controls a lot, it was really easy to suck ghosts into the Poltergeist 3000.
Gameplay: 9/10, almost no cut scenes and when you did have one it was really short. The gameplay was a lot of fun and the puzzles were challenging yet easy once you figured out their simplicity.
Replay Value: 8/10, at the end of the game depending on how much treasure you found in the mansion you buy a mansion thats not haunted, the more treasure the better looking home you buy. Its fun to go through and get almost no money or get lots and lots of it.
Overall: 8/10, I liked this game A LOT. It's my first real Gamecube experience and hopefully it was a sign of good things to come.
