Talk about a band that really knows how the teens of america feel. I first heard Good Charlotte's- Little Things when a friend told me to download the song (I OF COURSE deleted it before the 24 hour lay over period). The Little Things is a song about all those things about teenage life that we hate, being made fun of, heartbrake, screwed up parents, those jerks with the beautiful drop top ferraris that speed through the school parking lot (whipes drool from mouth). The Little Things is just a great song that almost anyone can relate to. WALDORFWORLDWIDE, the ode to Good Charlottes roots and much much more. The best line in here, "listen up cuz there aint nothin funny, I want a hot girl and a little bit of money, I wanna little house where my band can live cuz we're tired of moving every other weekend." This part of the song (along with the rest) makes me think of someone being stuck at the bottom for most of their life and just wanting to move up already. One of the repeated lines from this song are "All I wanna do is kick the welfare, all I wanna do is get my share, all I wanna do is make somethin from nothin', It's GC baby and we're workin with nothin'" pretty much seals the deal on my theory, but come to your own conclusions. The next song, The Motivation Proclimation is my favorite song on this c.d. "motivate me, I wanna get myself out of this bed, Captivate me, I want good thoughts inside my head" is the line that sums it all up, just get your ass out of bed and take control of your life. To me it seems like the song writer was just in a state of depression and needed that lift off. East Coast Anthem is a cool sounding song but I don't follow it as much as I do the others, probably one of the weaker songs on this c.d. Festival Song is basically what it says in the title, a song about living life on your terms, your responsibilities, and basically partying all the time. "I dont want your 9 to 5, or anyone to tell me how to live my life" Complicated starts out with a cliche beat that I constantly pound on the computer desk when its on. Here we go, Here we go..... this song has a bit of hip hoppish sound at certain parts like "well I came in the door, you know i said it before I dont let the stress get me down, giving thanks to the lord, and I pray everyday, giving shots to my peeps and this is what we said." If your into that sort of thing check that song out. "Summer air reminds me of all the feelings of your love, and what it was like when we were together." Ahh the sweet smell of summer love is definitely in the air in this song, Seasons. I Don't Wanna Stop is all about the mind games that little boys and girls love to play, you know what I'm talkin about. The little well if you do this then I'll do this, yea you've been there before. I Heard You is about being "indirectly dumped" I guess the word is. "I saw you sitting at your t-shirt stand with your new boyfriend" ouch that burns. It's not cool to be dumped and laughed at, learn a lesson from this song kiddies..... The Click... wow what a cool song! Good beats at the beginning and then busts into something that sounds like old school Blink 182, ya know from Dude Ranch and Cheshire Cat? This song flat out rocks, check it for yourself. Walk By has some witty lyrics in here, one to note (not just because Troy's birthday is in it) is "She caught my eye on October 9th, 22 days before Halloween, How did I know she'd be my evil queen", come on now those lyrics are pretty darn cool. You couldn't think of that now could ya? Let Me Go, Screamer, and Change are all notable songs but not Good Charlottes best work on this c.d. Screamer is about being misunderstood and being frustrated with it, I relate to that quite a bit. Overall I think that Good Charlotte is a great band and that you should pick up this c.d and they're new one that comes out on October 1st.
