Holidays are something I adore!! Except for the fact that the mail doesn't run!! LOL... I lose track of what day of the week it is sometimes when I can't go out and get the mail!

My favorite Holiday is Christmas. My second favorite is Halloween. And my third favorite is Easter.

However, with Christmas and Easter, I find a huge problem. I don't like the way they have been commercialized!! Christmas and Easter are major religious holidays for  Christians, yet so many Christians have lost sight of the true meaning of these days. I am a Christian and I am NOT saying that you should stop telling your kids about Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. I just think that we should give our kids more to think about on Christmas and Easter than what they got and what their friends got in comparison.

I can still remember as a child. My father was not a believer. He didn't believe in God. We didn't go to church. The true meanings of  Easter & Christmas were never revealed to me until I was nine years old. I'd started to go to church, by myself, and it was there that I found out what Easter & Christmas REALLY meant.

I believe that we should all make an attempt to teach our children that Easter & Christmas are not just about the candy and toys but about our Saviour, Jesus Christ.
