Pros and Cons of a Paladin
Pros
- Get
clerical chants. These chants are very useful in solo and group combat
helping the group. I will talk about each individual chant later on.
- Paladins
also get to wear Plate armour the best armour in the game with the highest
absorb factor. They also can be proficient in all weapons with the exception
of ranged and pole-arms.
- In
RvR and normal grouping you will be wanted by groups because of your ability
to fight and use chants.
- Paladins
get a resurrection spell, reviving dead players. You are the only fighter
class in the game who can do this. This makes you popular and also
resurrecting people not in your group will get you a nice reputation.
- Paladins
are classes that have a nice RPG element to them. People can play in role as
these characters very easily and makes the general atmosphere of the game
better.
Cons
- No
ranged weapons as such. You will always have to get close to a mob to
actually fight it unlike the Armsman whom can safely pull them to him or her
with the crossbow. There is a special chant that Paladin do get though that
dos allow them to pull a mob to some extent. This spell, which is obtainable
through the chants line, allows you to pull a mob from the hate list. In
other words a Paladin can pull an aggressive mob to him easily. The bad part
is it does no direct damage.
- The
Paladin will never do as much damage as the Armsman Or Mercenary. As a trade
of for less damage they get chants, which you can class as a pro or con. The
chants will never give you the ability to do more damage than other classes
but they are helpful and liked in groups.
- Paladins
will have less hit points than an Armsman therefore will not be able to take
as much damage.
