Just wandering...
January 22, 2004

We didn't really have anything planned this day, so we just spent the day relaxing. We slept in a bit, then after breakfast we decided to go to a local park I'd found in my map book. After that, we just kind of wandered around the Asagaya and Ogikubo area. It was a good enjoyable walk...

Mom lead us along with her book, got us lost with her book, then somehow got us un-lost with her book.

Going into the park.

Eleanor found a tire swing. ^-^
I haven't ridden a tire swing in years...
Man, I've missed them...

We enjoyed watching this old man doing his morning exercises.

One reservation I had about visiting Japan was that I'd heard that smoking is more common there. I was quite pleased to find that many public places were smoke free. Signs, such as this one, were common on the sidewalks throughout Tokyo.

This is a pet care shop, but it was closed on Thursdays.
The dogs are cute~

I just liked the houses on this street. ^-^

The Japanese equivalent of a mail truck.
Tiny thing, isn't it?

Yes, even in Japan, people don't always obey the signs...

Right or left?
Going back to Yadoya each day, we would turn off the main road onto this road. The road forked twice before we reached our destination. How many times did we go the wrong way before getting it right? ^^;
We'd get lost by taking the wrong turn many times... especially at night. (Which was the time we normally headed back.)

Right at the vending machines and grocery store...

Then left at the next fork.
