EATING:
In redwall, even the villains seem to enjoy apple tarts and candied chestnuts more than the flesh of other beasts, although fish and birds have been known to be consumed. Owls have posed a threat to mice, but have also been friendly Abby dwellers who eat strawberries. Birds, it seems, are more likely to eat small animals, whereas ferrets, weasels, and foxes seem to be more civil, refraining from what might be considered cannibalism. Thus I leave it up to the creators of the characters whether to make their carnivores true carnivores, or omnivores, or complete vegetarians. In my situation, I have a fisher who is a carnivore, but he only eats fish and mussels. Bugs are a safe option as well. Even grizzly bears eat bugs.

LAW & ORDER:
Within the confines of Redwall Abbey, rules are set and justice is meted out by the Father Abbot and the Abbey Warrior. Outside of this safe haven, however, laws, governments, and justice do not seem to exist. It's tyrant vs. tyrant, and everybeast seems to do as he or she desires. Slavery, murder, robbery, and brawls are unregulated. Thus, at the RPGs such as the Salamandastron Dance, beasts must deal out their own justice. You should remember that different beasts may have different standards as well. Some may believe that any and all killing is wrong, whereas others may believe that it is perfectly right to kill someone who insults you. Looking to Jacques' example of "goodbeasts", though, sets some guidelines for being a good guy. Goodbeasts don't slay someone on a whim. Goodbeasts defend the defenseless. Goodbeasts do not kill or attack an unarmed creature. When given the option, goodbeasts tend to let vermin go free "to turn over a new leaf" instead of mounting a large-scale execution.

RELATIONSHIPS:
Considering that both the books and the boards are read by various young readers, one should be cautious about relationships between those of the male gender and those of the female gender. Do not go into explicit detail about how they french kiss or write out disgusting "love scenes". Follow Jacques' role. Keep it decent.
Also, even though animals are naturally polygamous, Jacques' animals seem to have morals similar to those of humans. One spouse. These creatures are civilized.

RACISM:
Yes, it exists in Redwall, in case you didn't notice. The Redwallers think less of vermin and vice versa. Also the wild animals like birds and lizards are considered barbaric and uncivilized, much like the early Europeans considered other cultures barbaric and uncivilized. In the RPGs, the vermin and "goodbeasts" seem to be more accepting of each other - a difference that is not necessarily bad, but is different, never-the-less from what Brian Jacques originally portrayed.
