The Story Of Me: My good friend Cienna came to me one day with a set of four books by Tamora Pierce that she wanted me to read. Her aunt or something had given her and her sister, Heashina, the Song of the Lioness series and The Immortals at some point. Now, she wanted me to read her favorite of the two quartets, the one she thought reminded her so much of me. I shuddered. Books. I hated to read. And four of them. How horrible. But, my friend wanted me to read them and swore that I’d love them. I figured I’d have to give this Immortals series a try. And this was my introduction to the writing of Tamora Pierce. I was shocked at how interested I became as I read on. I am a perfectionist, and (as a whimsical water sign) very very few things (especially novels) have ever interested me. As a result of my minuscule scape of tolerance, however, the people and things that do click with me I hold in high regards. They things become my little obsessions, the people my reasons for living. Although this may be a strong warning sign of a deeper insanity yet to come, I like this about myself, so don’t email me and tell me I’m crazy. Anyway, the stories that Tamora Pierce writes have all drawn me in with well-developed and lovable characters. I remind myself a little of Daine, too (aside from the fact that my hair is straight and I’m not half-god).
