She devotes her life to the land and to her cousin, but as she grows into womanhood she begins to discover there are those who would rather place their loyalties in her. Though Sithli is not very interested in her duties, Rilsin does everything in her power to try to bring a better order and a lasting peace to the people. As the true Saeket, afterall, she seems to have a natural feel for possibilities and events. When Rilsin starts to notice how controlling and munipulative Sithli is and how unjustly the lands are being ruled, she also begins to see just how many people would be willing to back her up if she chose to reclaim her power.
