Books By Sherwood Smith

Senrid:

Senrid is a troubled young king working on coming into power. His beliefs and ideals are questioned when he meets the teen-aged king Leander, Leander's sister Kitty, an adventurous girl named Faline, and a girl from earth called CJ.

The values of dark magic his uncle has been teaching him are in contrast to the values of his new acquaintances. Though he's never really had friends, Senrid begins to see the value in listening to people his own age, already knowing he can't trust his power-hungry uncle.

Faline, CJ, and their friends struggle to keep themselves and their lands safe from the quest for power, while trying to help Senrid understand that kingdoms can be governed without cruelty.

Over The Sea: CJ's First Notebook

This is the story of how CJ, a girl from earth, traveled over the sea of stars and came to live in the fantastic kingdom shown to readers in Senrid (meaning you can read this one afterward or as a prequel).

In CJ's new world, she begins to keep a record of the lives of her new friends, their activities, foes, troubles with neighboring kingdoms, and other interesting experiences.

If you happen to have read the short story "Daria's Window" by Sherwood Smith in Sister's In Fantasy II, your brain might have already been piqued for this addition to Sherwood Smith's published novels.

I've never really been a fan of stories about people from our world who venture into another. In fact, I usually won't read one by my own free will, but this was a unique take on that whole idea. I read it because it was by Sherwood Smith, and I definitely was not dissapointed.
