The Claidi Journals - by Tanith Lee

BOOK 1: WOLF TOWER
Claidi is a girl who has lived her life as a servant. She's lead a rather dull life being the maid of a very annoying and often cruel princess. So, when a handsome visitor is captured and may face execution, Claidi takes the chance to escape her servant life by rescuing him and helping him return home.
This story is written in first person, as Claidi's personal notebook that she carries with her along her journey. This story isn't very action packed or magical for a fantasy, but it's still an enjoyable read. Claidi is faced with many decisions similar to ones that we've had to make.
This book is a calm read and for people who would enjoy hearing about the love interests and the secret thoughts of a very cool character.

BOOK 2: WOLF STAR
Claidi is kidnapped and then sent to the home of prince Venn, and she doesn't know why or by who. The two search for answers about their questionable pasts inside this cliff tower where prince Venn was born, called The Rise. Claidi wants to find out why she's there, and how to get out.

BOOK 3: Wolf Queen
Claidi has returned to the Hulta after another adventure, but their leader and her love (Argul) is gone. In this book Claidi looks for Argul and ends up being led to the mysterious Raven Tower where she'll find answers to many more questions about that past and things will finally start getting put together.

BOOK 4: Wolf Wing
Claidi's wedding to Argul isn't really how she hoped it would be, and Argul seems always bothered and thinking of something else. Then Claidi decides that she should go back and rescue her friends from the house, the other girls who had been maid-slaves with her long ago. But there's already been a revolution, it seems, and new secrets to uncover.
Suddenly Claidi, Argul, and Dengwi (from the house) recieve word that Ironel must see them at once. At Ironel's home, they are met by a few of Claidi's other aquaintences from her travels, Venn, Winter Raven, and Ngarbo. (Nemian and his wife also show up, but they don't get take part in the journey.)
Once they are all together, Ironel tells them that Ustareth (mother of Venn and Argul) is still alive, and has created a land of her own. Soon, the six are traveling together toward and unknown continent, created by the powerful and mysterious Ustareth, unable to know what she wants of them.
