Blarney Castle

Many people know of Blarney Castle. This castle was built around the 15th century. When asked about the castle, most people speak of the Blarney stone.

Located at the top of this old castle is a stone. Through an opening were boiling liquids used to be poured through, to defend the castle, is a stone. One must lay on his/her back and bend backward to kiss the stone.

There is no charge for kissing the stone, but there is a charge to go into the area itself. Around the castle are beautifully kept gardens. Nearby, for shoppers, is the Blarney Woolen Mills.
