| Upon
our arrival to the Bath region, my eyes seized upon Bath Abbey. The sun's
light danced off of the stain glass windows and while the rest of the tour
group took off I stopped a photograph (left top). My group moved through the wonderful exhibit of the Roman Baths. The exhibit is enhanced with digital headsets. I was taken by the areas of the exhibit that let one see the stones that the Romans tread upon so many years ago. The beginning of the exhibit leads around the walkway above the Baths for a 'bird's eye view'. Roman statues are above the Baths protecting (top right). While walking over the Bath area the nearby abbey chimed in the hour. I love the sound of church bells! I took a shot of Bath Abbey and the buttresses, which help support the building (left second photograph). At the actual bath area, bubbles from the hot springs caused a gentle movement to the water (right middle). This area of hot springs is the only one in Britain. |
