Flights of Fancy

Let a whispered lullaby
lull you softly to sleep;
To a land of dreams and visions
where silent secrets keep.

Walk softly on the dew-drenched ground
with gossamer-like tread,
And drift into fairytale
like none you've ever read.

Scale the walls of shattered hopes
and trample burning coals,
where disembodies spirits roam
to find their long lost souls.

Light a candle in the wind
and dance on fortune's grave,
where gallantry is rewarded
in favour of the brave
At last return to whence you came,
Still wiser and yet strong;

The road to your salvation
is arduous and long.

This appeared in the 'Big Issue' magasine a while ago, and there was something about it I really liked; hence its appearance here...
