Back safely in Nice. Is really quite bizarre to be back here after two and a half weeks away, but Anna and I have both noticed already that we feel strangely at home. I wasn't delighted about the prosect of coming back, but I realised last night when we flew in that I'm perfectly happy, and besides, I will have finished the French half of this year abroad six weeks today (this scares both of us quite a lot - the fact that neither of us can really speak French and will get shat on for it in September is probably why...); also this means that I really do have to start making some plans for March. More soon.

PS The coulours may well not stay like this, as I am in the self-consultative process of trying to work out of they're repulsive or not...

Just come back from amazing weekend in Paris. Was really nice to have a change but be in France at the same time. Was bitingly, shockingly cold, not hitting zero at all while I was there, but really bright and clear too. So that was cool. Managed to get an awful lot done - sampling the Marais, enormous walk round the centre with friends, almost got completely lost on the not-very-compliated Metro system, that sort of stuff. Saw lots of people I wanted to and managed to catch up a bit, so all is well. Managed to smuggle a very pissed Anna through the security check on the way back (she turned up to get a lift to the airport smiling and singing happily, making me wonder whether it might have been easier to walk to Nice rather than get thrown off the plane); a pleasant surprise given that I was sure that we were going to get stopped. Got back about 12.30 last night, necessitating a delay in our first day of dissertation-work (put off until tomorrow. Needed a proper lie-in to recover from weekend. Yes.) Anyway, will write more when more coherent, as seem to be rambling slightly at the moment. I have a nasty feeling I've got to get my Uni attendance-form signed this week, which should be an interesting challenge...
