Revision is not happening.

Crashed in on the celebrations at the hall last night just in time to hear Michelle fight her way through 'God save the Queen' and see everyone finish gorging themselves on sausage and mash. Rah for St. George.

Other main event yesterday was receiving dressing instructions from Jane, after I absent-mindedly bought a woman's polo-neck top from a charity shop (oh how they must have giggled once I'd walked out the door) - but I did find out (helpful this, I'm sure it is) that I'm a size 10-12. Anyway, said top fits me well and is definitely sartorially androgenous, so I'm happy.

Thursday 25.4.02

Slightly random and deranged conversation yesterday led to us trying to decide what piece of clothing we'd be if we were one (I expect you can already tell how little work I did yesterday - got to manic levels...) - but anyway, we decided that Claire would be a really itchy, annoying wooly jumper, Swyrie would be, well, a sari, Liz would be, in her words, 'a really comfy, warm pair of pants' and I (in Claire's words) would be 'a really smelly, old, holey, disgustingly ancient sock.' It's always nice to know you have friends around you to love you...

Friday 26.4.02

Wonderful distractions from work yesterday included sitting with Swyrie, gurgling hot tea and trying to make songs from the cacophony we produced.

Also included a midnight performance of Cats with Tom and some of his workmates. I haven't seen it for a while, and it is closing in a couple of weeks, and it was a charity performance, so I thought it would be an excellent idea to go, and I'm pleased to say I wasn't disappointed. I know what people say about Cats - that the music is repetetive, simplistic and samey, that it's been running far too long and lost its appeal, that it's popular culture claptrap etc etc and I hear these critisicms, really I do. But at the same time, the set (which I don't believe has ever been matched), the dancing, the choreography, the lighting - it all blends together to make something special, definitely. Admittedly, there was one thing which really could have been done better - whoever it was who sung Memory butchered it, which was a real shame because it's easily my favourite part of the whole thing. But you can't have everything, and I certainly couldn't have done better, so I'm satisfied. :-)

Sunday 28.4.02

First exam is tomorrow, and Mark is farting about, writing emails and putting pointless entires on his blog. Augur well to you?

So if Alec is 43% gay and Mark is only 40%, this makes my boyfriend even more of a raging queen than Her Majesty during the annus horribilis. Oh well. At least he cooks and cleans. I'm not sure if I'm meant to be insulted by this, but I guess that the fact that Michelle's significant other is more gay than me is enough to be quietly amused instead. And also, let's face it - Kath was 33%, and Jo was 53%, so we're not really talking in terms of accuracy, right?

Tuesday 30.4.02

Two down, four to go. They've been testing but fair so far - and neither went stunningly, but I know I haven't crashed and burned, which was an alarming possibility. Mustn't fuck up French language, mustn't fuck up French language, mustn't fuck up French language. Bloody French.
