Although still have a very sore throat a la Swyrie (thank you, dear, I will be eternally grateful,) I am feeling generally less cat's-bummish today. For those not acquainted with this sublime Mikeism, it's the feeling you get which has the general effect of making your mouth screw up like a feline arse to convey how pissed off you are about nothing. I think it's marvellous. Anyway, I have a right to be pissed off as today is my first day without caffeine for six weeks. Arse.

This, however, cheers me up no end.

It's all commercial crap anyway. Whilst others received cards, flowers, chocolates and the like yesterday, I got a bank statement.

Honestly, the joys of working in a bookshop never end. Our latest problem is a man who comes in, specifically to masturbate in our loos. Lovely. At least he has the courtesy to do that - in another bookshop, he was caught doing it on the shopfloor.

Dear Mr. Detre,

I am writing further to the assessmnent of your support entitlement for the 2001 academic session.

If you have not sent receipts for childcare you need to provide these by 28/2/02, otherwise we will reassess your entitlement to support and you will lose your childcare grant.

You will need to provide receipts for the third term. These will be required in September 2002. If you are likely to incur childcare costs in the summer vacation please confirm dates required and costs per week.

If you overestimate or you do not take up the childcare you will be required to repay any overpayment.

Yours sincerely,

Shite of Brent Council.
