1. yada srushtam jagat sarwam tada lokapitamahah
chaturweda samayuktam shashwatam dharmamadishat
Purport: Along with creation the Almighty Father revealed the
eternal principles of religion (Law) embodied in four Vedas.
2. kim satkarma kim adhyatmam yadi wijnyatum arhati
sarwa shastreshu grantheshu pramanam paramam shrutih
Purport: What is good Karma? What is the science of the soul?
If you truly wish to know, Shruti (Vedas) is the standard reference.
3. aspashtam cha kada spashtam tattwa jnyana wiwechanam
anyatra labhyate kintu pramanam paramam shrutih
Purport: THAT (Almighty Power) is described, sometimes clearly,
sometimes not so clearly, at various places. However, Vedas is the standard
reference.
4. arsha grantheshu sarweshu shruti pramanya mewacha
sarwatah saramadadyan nija kalyana hetawe
Purport: Of all the literature given through the seers, Vedas is
the standard reference. Extract the essence for thy benefit.
5. shushkawada ratah kechin nanya dasteeti wadinah
sarwe te wilayam yanti mithya kalaha karinah
Purport: Those who proclaim that what they say alone is the truth
and nothing else exists are dogmatists indulging in dry discussions leading to
conflict. They bring about their own destruction.
6. nastika weda nindakah pakhanda weda dooshakah
ete sarwe winashyanti mithyachara prawartakah
Purport: Those who malign the Vedas, those who bring disrespect to
the Vedas by their behaviour, those who attribute faults to Vedic knowledge,
those who bring Vedas into disrepute by their attitudes merely spin the
cobwebs of illusion leading to wrong behaviour patterns. They bring about
their own destruction.
7. yajnya daan tapah karma swadhyaya nirato bhawet
esha ewahi shrutyuktah satyadharmah sanatanah
Purport: Be engrossed in Yajnya, Daan, Tapa, Karma and Swadhyaya.
This alone is the Eternal Religion (Eternal Principles of Religion) given
through Vedas.
1. Satya - Truth
One should strictly follow the path of truth.
2. Ahimsa - Non-violence
Violence to the innocent is a terrible sin.
3. Daya - Forgiveness
Forgiveness is a Divine virtue.
4. Shivasankalpa - Holy affirmation
May my mind always affirm the holy.
5. Datrutwa - Sharing
Inculcate the habit of sharing your assets.
6. Pawitracharana - Purity in action
May your actions spring from purity.
7. Brahmacharya - Celibacy
Patterns of behaviour for unfoldment of the Divine.
8. Tapa - Self discipline
God realization is possible only through the practice of Tapa.
9. Swadhyaya - Self-study
Achieve purification through the study of Holy Science given in Vedas and
others.
10. Ishwar Pranidhana - Surrender to His will
Under no circumstances shall I ever forget Thee.
"It is my desire that the earth be governed by Divine Peace. Let
there be abundance of everything which is good and auspicious. Yajnya, Daan,
Tapa, Karma and Swadhyaya, let these prevail everywhere. Let the Eternal
Principles of Religion be the guidelines of all."

I take refuge in the company of those who follow and practise the Eternal
Principles of Religion for blessed are they and only they enter the Kingdom of
Heaven.
Lord Buddha's divine birth took place to protest against the sacrifice of
flesh and blood in Yajnyas and to promote the performance of Yajnyas strictly in
accordance with Vedic injunctions. To fulfill this task which was left
incomplete at the time of Lord Buddha, the holy place known as Shivapuri was
established and this unparalleled Agnishtoma Mahayajnya was performed here after
several centuries.
