After a few days Jubilee was fine. She never told anyone else about what happened, just Jean.
Jubilation was outside sitting at edge of the pond. She was throwing rocks in it. Watching the ripples go in circles and then disappear. She sat for an hour, when she heard a rustling in the bushes behind her. She whipped her head around and looked closely. Four unknown mutants came out from there. How in the hell did they get past security, she thought. Jubilee jumped up and got ready to fight. Wolverine's power and Gambit's power as one power. Schikt. Her claws came out. She also had a deck of cards ready to fire up. The men moved closer and she felt trapped just as she did while fighting the Brujah.
They jumped at her she drew two cards and charged them. Jubilee threw them and they hit their target. The two in behind came up to her back. One twisted her arm and she yelped in pain. One man that she hit with a card got up and took out a gun. He fired once and the bullet hit Jubilee in the stomach. And another in the chest.
He jumped out of the bushes from which the men had come. He was in the form of a wolf. As soon as he made impact with the ground he turned into a human. He growled and snarled at the mutants. The taller one began charging the man with the goatee. He ducked and the guy jumped and hit a tree.
Him. He's here. Why? Jubilee thought. The man who was holding her let go and she fell to the ground. She lay there looking at the sky and wondering if it would soon be her new home.
The guy who had come was the vampire with which she had saved. He defeated the men and they ran off. But the damage was already done.
He ran over to her and knelt on his knees. He held her head in his hands. Her wounds were to serious to heal with her powers. She needed a miracle.
"What are you doing here?" Jubilee managed to say.
"I came back because...I wanted to see you."
"Why?"
"I feel something special between us. I knew it the minute you woke up after you saved me. And now you're dying."
He started to cry. The tears weren't clear, they were red. He was crying blood.
"You can't die. I don't even know you, but it feels like I have for years." he said and looked up at the sky.
Jubilee was slipping away and she knew it, so did he. Oh well its been fun, she thought and that was her last.
"I'll save you. Screw the Masquerade. I'll embrace you."
And that was the last thing she heard.
The guy lowered his head toward her neck. He bit into it and drained all her blood until she almost died. Then he replaced her blood with his own. After he was finished he got in the house and carried Jubilee to her room. He put her in bed and left.
Jubilation awoke to find Beast looking over her. She was in the infirmary. Matt was by her side.
"Hi," she said.
"About time you woke up," he said.
"What's wrong with me?"
"I really don't know. I can't find any medical explanation for this. You are full of mysteries."
"Story of my life. Thank you so much." she said sarcastically. "How long have I been out?"
"A full day." Matt answered.
"Oh,"
"Are you hungry?" Hank asked.
That was an odd question. It struck Jubilee like a bolt of lighting hitting a tree.
"Yes. I'd like a glass of blood." she paused. "Red tomato juice."
The two of them looked relived. Hank went down and to get it.
"Are you sure your feeling all right?" Matt asked.
"Fine," she answered with a slight smile.
"Okay,"
Jubilee sat up and got out of the bed. Matt rushed over to help her. She held her hand up and walked toward the window. She looked outside and saw Rogue flying around. Beast came back with her drink.
"Thank you," she said.
"Your welcome,"
She was staring at it, as if looking to find some answer to a question that was hidden deep. It has been two days since her rescue.
Suddenly flashes popped into her mind. She had never seen these before, it was as if they were someone elses. They didn't involve her, but the goatee guy and the short man at the park who wanted to kill him were there. Three other people were in the flashes as well. The people were new to her, strangers, but she felt as though she knew them. She was apart of them, and they were apart of her.
The drink was in a glass cup. A vision came and it was a tall man standing in what appeared to be a winery. He was holding two guns and was killing people. A fire was blazing all around him. He looked up almost as if staring straight at Jubilee, he mouthed the word Julian.
The cup was now broken, in her hand. She had squeezed it and the juice came out spilling over hand and onto the floor. Pieces of glass were in her hand and she was bleeding. She opened her palm wide and saw that the cuts were healing, much faster then they usually do.
There was one problem with that she wasn't on her healing power or Wolverine's power. Her cut was simontaniously closing up.
"What the hell?" Jubilee whispered.
"Are you okay? It looked like it hurt." Matt said.
"Yeah...I'm fine."
"Good thing you were on your healing power." Hank said.
"Well that's just it, I wasn't on that power I was on my own power, fireworks. I didn't change or anything the cut just started to heal."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive," she said and left the room.
It was Thursday.
Jubilee was getting ready for bed when Matt asked her what was wrong with her teeth.
"My teeth are fine." she answered with a growl.
Then she opened her mouth and looked in the mirror and saw that her two eye teeth were sharper, like a vampires. Jubilee looked down at her finger nails were becoming sharper.
Friday night.
"What the hell is happening to me?" she said in a whisper.
Her eyes gave a cold stare. She climbed into bed and went to sleep.
There was a knock at the front door. Jean Gray heard it and went downstairs to answer it. Night was still crowding over them.
"Can I help you?"
The man appeared 25. He had a goatee and brown hair. He seemed normal.
"I need to talk to Jubilee, now."
"She's asleep, but if you come back..."
The guy pushed past her and ran up stairs to Jubilation's room.
Jubilee heard footsteps of someone running. She got out of bed and opened the door.
"What is going on here?"
She saw the man and recognised him. "You, you did this to me!" she yelled.
That woke everyone, upstairs. Jubilee jumped on the guy and they began to fight. One thing was different, they were growling like wolves.
It was 2:00 am. Scott ran out to the hallway to see what was going on.
"What the?" he said in a gasp.
Scott was blocking the one end of the hallway, while Xavier came out in his hover wheelchair and blocked the other way.
"You must stop this. Now!" he yelled.
Jubilee kicked the intruder down the stairs and looked at Charles with dark, cold green eyes, hatred and then she hissed at him.
"What the hell is going on out here?" Matt asked as he stood in the doorway. He looked at Jubilee, who turned and jumped off the balcony and onto the floor down below.
"Jubilee," he yelled.
Matt began to head for the stairs, but Xavier stopped him.
"No Matt, its out of our hands now. It's up to them."
"She's my wife I gotta go after her. Besides who knows what that guy'll do."
The guy and Jubilation headed for the Danger Room.
That was in the hallway of Ororo, Hank and Logan. Jubilee punched the guy into the wall and he hit the button to open the Danger room.
The X-Men gathered in the control room to watch.
"Professor do you know what this is all about?" Beast asked.
"I wish I knew Hank, I wish I knew." he answered.
Logan pushed a button on the control panel so they could hear.
"Rarrrr," said Jubilee and she snapped at the man. And in turn he let her punch him in the stomach. She grabbed him and threw him against the wall. She then doubled over and wrapped her arms around her waist and she was crying, but the tears weren't clear, they were red. She was crying blood.
"I feel cold." she said. "I'm hungry."
The guy woke and saw her. He crawled over and was on his knees.
"You're cold and hungry." he said.
"Yes, why do I feel like this?"
"Because you haven't gotten used to the whole thing."
"I've got to help her." Matt said.
"No just leave it. And watch." Charles said.
"My names Cash. Here."
He took off his leather jacket and put it over her shoulders.
Then he rolled up his sleeve. He held out his arm.
"You need too, or the craving will get worse and you'll die."
"I have to drink."
Cash nodded.
She looked at him and then bent over and bit his arm and was feeding. He was breathing heavily but it was normal.
In the control room everyone was silent.
"Come let us leave." Xavier said.
They all left, including Matt.
"You're Kindred now." Cash said.
Cash and Jubilee were left alone for the night.
