One of the sweetest stories between Elrond and Legolas that isn't slash, depending on how you look at it. Legolas returns to Imladris after the War of the Ring, the affects of war weighting heavily on him. Elrond and Legolas help each other through difficult memories and the fading of the Elves.
Seasons of the Heart

This is a beautiful and simplistic story about Elrond and Legolas in Valinor. After arriving in the Blessed Lands with Gimli, Legolas meets with Elrond once again and finds that he is developing feelings for the half-Elf. With a surprising confession from Lady Celebrían and her blessing, the two peruse a relationship only for Elrond's human blood to make itself known. A sad ending where both lovers die, bring a tissue. Slash warning.

At Helm's Deep, Legolas is captured and brought to Isengard where Saruman means to use him to create the ultimate evil creature. Aragorn rescues him but not understanding the magic used by Saruman, Legolas is left without his sight and the only way to return it to him it to destroy all of the creatures created.
