Eleven is my favorite number, and yesterday was September 10. I thought to myself, something will happen tomorrow, its my favorite number in my favorite month, something big will happen tomorrow.
This morning was not like any other, I was rushing around getting stuff together for our Biology Trip. All our gear has to be packed into the trailer today. My father doesn’t normally watch the news, but he turned on the TV today and this is what was happening. He had turned it on shortly before the South tower fell.
For me, it’s freaky and wild. In eighth grade I went with some classmates on a trip to visit New York, Boston, Washington D.C. and one of our stops was the World Trade Center. I have been to the top; I have looked out the windows. I could see window washers on the next tower dangling for their lives. And now no one will ever again experience that. It is not there anymore, there is no top level to visit.
It is astounding how we could watch the buildings fall over and over again on the news. Hear the screams of terror in our imagination. See the buildings fall level-by-level, crushing thousands of people in the process. I cannot even begin to describe my horror in seeing and hearing such things.
On the way to school today, we wanted to listen to the news, so we flipped on the radio station – every station was tuned into 1190 KEX because it covers the news the best. One couldn’t even listen to any of the FM stations.
They keep showing the footage of the planes crashing and the building falling. It is sick and I almost can’t believe it, so I watch to help myself realize that a building I had once stood on is now gone and I can’t tear myself away. This is news history. This is huge! We could go in war or the stock market could crash. It could change my life. My friend is in the army and he is on the alert. We could lose our freedom or we could lose our security.
Of course it was planned, the date is 9-11, 911 – what a mockery! I told my dad this morning that there couldn’t be that many bad pilots in the world. Its crazy, all of this is.
As for the people all celebrating and handing out candy in the West Bank – Hello!!?? And the people jumping around in park in New York – retards! I suppose I was right about humanity being stupid. If someone is going to celebrate, they should do it in privacy instead of in the streets where anyone would quickly arrest them. We are suffering and thousands are dead, and they rejoice? I almost agree that we need to declare war and shoot them all, see how they like it! We could easily take them all, right? Stupid people, this is big to us. I mean, the World Trade Center was a big landmark to America, having this happen is almost as bad as if the stock market crashed or they had bombed the Statue of Liberty to pieces!
Even right now, live, the smoke and debris covers everything! We have no idea how many are injured or dead or what is going on. Everybody has gone into chaos and a war zone. America has been shut down, no aircraft is above us and all federal and public buildings have been closed off. There is footage of mass people running out of the way with huge clouds tracing them. The pentagon is ruined and so many people lost. Workers wearing masks for protection no one knows where the President – Bush – is.
He was reading to kindergartners when he received word of the crash. He was supposed to go to the capitol, but they decided that that wasn’t safe. All memorials and high rises have been evacuated. All subways and transportation has been shut down.
There is said to be 20,000 in the twin towers, and over 200 passengers on the planes that were hijacked. Three to six hijackers were on each plane. It is said that four of them, the pilots, had taken a course at a flight academy in California. They had only learned to fly the plane in the air, but dropped out before they taught how to take off or land. They wouldn’t need it. Officials have found one flight attendant at the pentagon with her wrists tied behind her back with wire. Most of the passengers were killed before they crashed. The terrorists did it with knives that took on the plane inside their shaving kits. Sick pigs!
One eyewitness on the streets of New York told of how he had to hide under a car to avoid the cloud. He said that for two minutes it was black and he couldn’t see. He couldn’t breathe. Others from the street are shown with everything covered in white from head to toe from the dust and ash.
Some are calling this the Second Pearl Harbor. There are people lined wall to wall in a cafeteria because the emergency room is full in the only hospital in the southern end of Long Island. All the staff members have been called in and operations are taking place in the cafeteria and the hallways. I worked in a hospital over the summer, and I could never imagine so many people being jammed together and all the staff being called in! Even Washington Square Mall is closed.
This is similar to the Oklahoma bombing, but far worse. The Mexico and Canadian borders have been shut down. Even Major League Baseball games
and NFL games have been canceled for a while. It’s interesting how all the flights had tons of fuel for their long flights. A bigger explosion I guess. And all the flights were headed towards California, why not Seattle? Europe is in shock; they are closing down a lot of things. All stock markets and airports have shut down around the world. Pretty much every country is behind us to wipe out any terrorist groups or problems, including future ones.
