About Me

Hmm, let's see. Basic info first, I guess. I'm Canadian, born in Toronto but have lived in Vancouver (British Columbia) for the majority of my life. I recently graduated from University with a B.Sc. in Earth and Ocean Sciences. This led to a position as curator and general dogsbody of a geological museum, with a little science editing on the side for a mineralogical journal.

I write fan fiction for fun and currently have 95 stories available in 18 different fandoms. The obsession of the moment? Man from U.N.C.L.E.
I have a bit of an obsessive personality, in that I tend to focus very strongly on things that I enjoy. People find this weird. //shrugs// It's fun, I enjoy it, and it has yet to negatively impact on the rest of my life. (Why yes, I *do* have a "rest of my life", //grins//) At the moment I seem to have stopped obsessing, though. Either that or I've just divided it among too many things for it to really stick out.

I'm not a religious person (bad personal experiences with religion) but I do have a lot of strong spiritual beliefs. And not-so-spiritual beliefs, also. Some of these, should you be interested, are (in no particular order):
  • Shared pain is diminished. Shared joy is increased.
  • Shame sucks. Be proud of everything about yourself.
  • Everything has a reason/source. If you can figure out what that reason/source is, you can fix the negative things and prolong the positive things. This is my secret of happiness.
  • True Love exists.
  • Good luck is as much a matter of attitude and work as it is of cosmic fate. Though cosmic fate does occasionally play a role.
  • Soulmates exist (and are not necessarily your True Love).
  • A little bit of gratitude goes a long way.
  • Creativity cannot be taught.
  • It is actually possible for contemplation of something beautiful to restore strength of soul and make one feel less metaphysically tired.
  • Lots more, but I'll stop blabbering now...
