I got to meet Mark O'Shea today! This was the first KCHS event I've been to because I just joined, so when I got there it was very awkward. I had no idea who anyone was and my dad and I just sat there for about ten minutes, until I decided to go get the food we had brought to hopefully open up some conversation. I went and got the chips and cookies and when I brought them up the second someone said something I pounced, replying something to the effect of"....It's kind of weird, I don't really know anyone....I just joined and...." Luckily the person I was talking to turned out to be Diane Reisinger and was incredibly nice, pointing out everyone right away.
I saw some people that I had heard of and it was very neat to meet them. I saw the Vandivers, the owners of Bearded Dragons and More, who had some delightful bearded dragons with them, David Nieves, who I didn't really get to talk to, but I'm a big fan of his, and many many more wonderful people. And of course, I saw Mark O'Shea. He had some wonderful stories of his trips around the world. Unfortunately he didn't need a sidekick, or a stunt double.....At least I got a laugh out of the crowd. (Everyone else sees the resemblence right? I could grow out my hair and get a beard and I'm in. :-)
All in all it was very fun, and I got to get to know some of the members of the KCHS. I'd like to thank Diane for showing me around and the KCHS and Midwest for putting on this wonderful event.~N~
