“I can’t believe how—how immature you are!!” yelled Estella, her face as 
red as her hair.<br>
“Well, what else did you expect me to do?!” bellowed Race, his eyes 
flashing cold fire, his nostrils flaring.<br>
“I don’t care! I’m going back to Columbia right now!!” Said Estella 
through clenched teeth, and grabbing her purse, she walked out of the Quest 
Mansion.<br>
“Stupid…. stupid!” muttered Race, under his breath.<br><br>

:: And all that surrounds you,<br>
Are secrets and lies::<br><br>

Just then, Jessie walked into the room.<br>
“What happened, Daddy?”<br>
“Nothing,” he said tersely, through clenched teeth. And he walked out, 
leaving her staring at his back.<br><br>

Jessie stood there, tears filling her eyes. This was supposed to be a 
special holiday, and now her mother had left.<br><br>

As she held back the sobs that threatened to explode any second, she felt a 
hand on her shoulder.<br>
“Jessie.” Said Jonny, in a soft voice. “I’m sorry.”<br>
“Why did it happen, Jonny?” she whispered. “Why do they always do this?”<br>
“I don’t know Jess, but it’s okay,” He soothingly stroked her hair. “I’m 
sure Estella will come back. I’m sure she won’t just leave.”<br>
“You think?”<br>
“I’m positive.”<br><br>

Feeling soothed, Jessie placed her head on Jonny’s shoulder, and his arms 
closed around her…<br><br><br>

Jessie sat at her desk, late at night, studying for her Calculus II exam. 
She had been studying since afternoon, and now her eyes wouldn’t obey her. 
The lids became so heavy, that it was impossible for her to keep them open. 
She slowly lay her head down on her book and fell into a deep slumber.
Unbeknownst to her, Jonny stood in a quiet corner of the study, watching 
her. He had been looking at her for hours, but it felt more like a second. 
As she laid her head on the desk, he moved toward her, and shut off her desk 
lamp. Then gently as the summer breeze, he lifted her in his arms, and 
carried her back to her bedroom.<br>
He placed her on the bed very, very tenderly, as though she was a rose 
petal.<br><br>

Standing back up, he noticed that two beautifully sea-green eyes were 
watching him.<br>
“Jonny?”<br>
“Shhhh….” He whispered, complacently. “Go back to sleep.”<br><br>

He covered her with the quilt, and walking out of the room, cast one glance 
at her peaceful expression, he felt a deep desire to kiss her. But he shook 
his head, and walked out of the room, lest he wake her…<br><br>

Thousands of people were gathered at the Quest Compound that day, when 
Jonathan Benton Quest, heir to the enormous Quest Enterprises, was to wed 
Jessica Bannon, one of the world’s best Nuclear Physicists.<br>

The two friends were standing outside the tower. Jessie was at the edge of 
the cliff. Suddenly, she looked back at Jonny and cried
“Come here, Jonny! I wan to show you something.”<br>
He rushed over to where she stood. As she pointed to a deer across the 
cliff, Jonny gazed at her in wonder. She was so beautiful, so perfect. And 
he realized that each moment, he fell deeper and deeper in love with her…<br><br><br>

She turned her head when she noticed him looking at her.
