Synopsis: Jessie is in Colombia. Jonny is in Maine. ‘Nuff said.

Jessie is lying in her bunk, late at night. Estella is asleep on the top
bunk. The night air is still, and it’s hot. But Jessie is cold inside. She
peers outside the tent opening, feeling lonelier than she’s ever felt
before.

Across the continent, Jonny is in his darkened room. He is standing at the
windowsill, watching the waves of the sea lap at the shore. Suddenly, he
starts to sing.

“There you are
In a darkened room
And you're all alone
Looking out the window
Your heart is cold and lost the will to love
Like a broken arrow

Here I stand in the shadows
Come to me, Come to me
Can’t you see that”

In Colombia, Jessie walks out of her tent, into the starry night, and starts
singing.

“Nobody wants to be lonely
Nobody wants to cry
My body's longing to hold you
so bad it hurts inside
Time is precious and it's slipping away
and I've been waiting for you all of my life
Nobody wants to be lonely so why
Why don't you let me love you…”

She hugs herself, trying to calm the raging storm of emotions within her.
She longs for Jonny. She wants to take him into her arms, and to hold him
till a thousand nights pass by.  Sighing, she sings again

“Can you hear my voice
Do you hear my song
It's a serenade
So your heart can find me
And suddenly your flying down the stairs
Into my arms, baby

Before I start going crazy
Run to me, Run to me
Cause I'm dying”

Both teens are singing now, their voices filled with deep yearning and
desire.

“Nobody wants to be lonely
Nobody wants to cry
My body's longing to hold you
so bad it hurts inside
Time is precious and it's slipping away
and I've been waiting for you all of my life
Nobody wants to be lonely so why
Why don't you let me love you…”

Jonny thinks of all the lovely nights he’s held Jessie in his arms, and
kissed her, while she runs her hands through his hair, and whispered his
name over and over and over. He remembers the feeling of her body next to
his; the overwhelming want, that is so hard to fight.
Meanwhile, in Colombia, Jessie recalls their late-night meetings in the
tower that not even Hadji knows about. The recollection of their passion and
lust makes her shiver. She cannot wait to go back to the Compound.
Jonny and Jessie once again sing out the very heartfelt ballad,

“I want to feel you deeply
Just like the air you're breathing
I need you here in my life
Don't walk away, don't walk away
don't walk away, don't walk away
No, no, no, no…”

Jessie turns back to her tent when she realises that Estella is stirring. As
she lays herself onto her bed, she can hear the final strains of the song…

“Nobody wants to be lonely
I don't want to cry
Nobody wants to cry
My body's longing to hold you
so bad it hurts inside
Nobody wants to be lonely
I don't want to be lonely
Nobody wants to cry…”

As the last refrain fades, Jonny still stands at the windowsill, watching
the waves of the sea lap at the shore. He hopes the next night won’t be as
long as the last few have been.

The end.
