Outside the window, the sun was setting into the nearby hills. The wind
was
blowing gently, the birds were returning home.
The two of them sat together on Jonny’s bed. Both were silent. Jonny
had
called this little meeting. He wanted to say something that had been
on his
mind for quite a while.
“Listen,” he started hesitantly. “I really have to talk to you.”
“What about?”
“There’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you…”
“Yes?”
“Look, we’ve been friends for a long time, right? And we’ve been through
so
much together. You’ve saved my life so many times…” He paused, not
knowing
how to go on.
“Go on.”
“Well, it’s just that, somewhere during the course of our life together,
I’ve realised that I’m… I’m in love with you.”
Jonny looked up.
There was a dead silence.
“I know such feelings can develop when you least expect them to… but
we’ll
deal with it, Jonny.”
“You mean, you’re not mad?”
“Of course not! You’re my best friend, and I would never get mad at
you for
such a small thing.”
Jonny smiled.
“Thanks, Hadji.”
The End (Or is it?).
