Bad Day

*Had a bad day again
She said I would not understand
She left a note and said I'm sorry I
Had a bad day again*

Race bent over and rested his chin on his hands.  Jonny sat next to
him, eyes red and swollen.  Two folded pieces of paper were laid in
front of them on the desk.  Jonny shut his eyes slowly and leaned back
in his chair.  Race blinked slowly and again re-read the note in front
of him.

*She spilled her coffee, broke her shoelace
Smeared the lipstick on her face
Slammed the door and said I'm sorry I
had a bad day again*

Dear Dad,
I'm sorry I've let you down.  I just can't stay there anymore.  It's
too much for me to handle.  I couldn't talk to you about this-you
wouldn't understand.  Trust me when I say that I'm fine where I'm
going.
Love you always.

*And she swears there's nothing wrong
I hear her playing that same old song
She puts me off and puts me on*

Jonny let a tear escape from the corner of his eye as he reached out to
read his letter.

Jonny,
I'm going to miss you, bleach head.  The only regret I have about
leaving is not being able to see you again.  I've loved you for as long
as I can remember; I just wish that I could've told you sooner.

Jessie sat alone at the bus stop, her long red hair pulled back into a
ponytail.  She put her baseball hat on as the bus pulled up to the
corner.  She took one last look around she boarded the old greyhound.
The doors closed, and the bus sped away into the night.
