A Kingdom As Great (6,6)

      "Well I can't just sit around."  He nodded, understanding how she felt.
Then she got into her truck and drove away, leaving Zach with much to
consider.

END OF 5
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      The stars were nowhere in sight now because the heavy clouds had formed a
wall between heaven and Earth.  Emily watched through her windshield the
flashes of light from the sky and wondered if David was in there, in the
lighting.  "Stop thinking nonsense."  She told herself.  Tears were burning
her face as she drove down the country roads not noticing the passing trees
jerking fiercely against the increasing winds.  The world around her was
darkening, and the clouds groaned with each spark of lighting.  Emily's
brain was showing the same actions as the storm.  She came to an
intersection and turned right without hesitation.  She seemed to know where
she was going, though she wasn't sure exactly where.
      Suddenly she heard the familiar sound of Nancy's truck behind her.  Emily
looked up into the rearview mirror and saw the red vehicle closing in.  "She
must be doing near a 100mph."  Emily thought.  She shrugged and continued on
at her current speed.
      The trees ahead started to lead away from the center of the horizon,
revealing a large open field.  I was a picnic area complete with tables that
looked over a large lake.  It was SandyMountain, where they swam at the
other day.  Emily parked to the side and got out of her car.   The wind blew
her hair wildly against her pale face.  Nancy saw her get out while the dark
clouds impatiently rolled along above them.  She pulled up to Emily's car
that still had its headlights on, and Nancy left her's on as well when she
got out of her truck.
      "David, I'm sorry."  Emily cried.  "I didn't mean to."  Nancy ran to her
friend just as the large raindrops began to fall with Emily's tears.
      "Emily calm down."  Nancy called over the sound of the surrounding storm.
"What are you doing out here?"  She wrapped Emily in her arms.
      "I killed him!"  Emily screamed.
      "What?"  Nancy pulled her friend away just enough so she could see into her
eyes.  "You didn't kill anyone.  You're just upset."
      "No Nancy I killed him.  I know I did.  I can feel it in my bones."  Emily
pushed away completely and rubbed her hands over her soaking wet arms.  She
seemed to had just notice the rain that was drenching both of them.
      "You see?"  She looked to the sky.  "I caused this.  I didn't even try, but
I felt this way, and I made it storm by accident.  Maybe when I realized I
loved Zach, I killed David.  I made the plane malfunction."  A chill ran
down Nancy's arm, and she took a step back from Emily.  Another thunderbolt
pierced the ebony sky above them, and Nancy looked up.  The storm was
following her mood, her feelings.  There only seemed to be one way to stop
the storm.  Nancy grabbed Emily's wrist and led her to the truck.
      "What are you doing?"  Emily asked as she struggled with Nancy.
      "I refuse to fight with you tonight.  I'm tired and cranky.  We'll just
wait out this storm until tomorrow when you're calmed down.  Until then,
you're going home with me."
      "But what about my car?"  Nancy went over to it and took out the keys,
locked the doors, and turned off the light.
      "No one comes out here much.  I'll come get it in the morning."  Nancy got
behind the wheel and pulled out of the picnic area.  After a few moments the
two girls were going down the country road toward home.  The truck was
silent except the sound of the motor and the windshield wipers.
      "Thank you."  Emily's voice was rough.
      "Not yet.  Don't you thank me yet."  Nancy said before glancing toward her.
  "So you love Zach?"  Emily was reluctant but then nodded with a small
grin.
      "Yeah, I guess I do."
      The ground suddenly began to shake, and Nancy fought for control of the
truck.  Both girls were screaming and braced for impact as the truck ran off
the road.  They went into a drop and smashed into a tree near the bottom of
the incline.  The front driver side of the truck was crumpled into a large
mess.  They were both instantly knocked unconscious.
      Emily woke with a start and looked to her side where Nancy was still
knocked out cold.  "Nancy, wake up."  She shook her, but there wasn't a
response.  Emily opened her door and jumped out into the wet night.  It
wasn't raining as hard, but small raindrops continued to fall from the tall
trees above.  As she walked off, she tripped on a rock and struggled to keep
her balance, but she tumbled deeper into the woods.  There was a clearing in
the middle of the trees, and she thought she saw someone.  Beacause it was a
cloudy night, her only light was from the truck headlights.
      "Hello, can you help me?  Please, my friend needs a doctor."  The stranger
took a few steps forward and then stopped.  "Do you understand me?"  She
called out as she took a step forward until she could see his face.
      "Hi Emily."  She stood paralyzed in her own fear.
      "Do I know you?"  He seemed so familiar.  She knew she had seen him before.
      "I came by the video store one day to see you."  Emily slowly nodded.
      "That's right.  I remember you.  What is your name?"  He smiled and walked
a step closer.
      "I'm Trevor."
      "Trevor, do you have a phone or something?  My friend is hurt."  Without
warning, he suddenly appeared in front of her and wrapped his arms around
her.
      "Stop.  What are you doing?"  She protested.  He leaned forward and looked
into her eyes.
      "It's in there."  He stared deeply into her green window, looking at her
soul.
      "What are you talking about?"  She asked as she struggled to free herself.
      "They're dormant, but there is so much in there."  Emily eyes widened as
she suddenly realized she was dealing with a Blood.  He just seemed to know
too much.
      "Please let me go.  I have to get help for Nancy."  He roughly pushed her
away as he  looked at her scornfully.
      "Why don't you help her?"  Emily looked at him confused.
      "I can't, I don't know how."  He shook his head and grabbed her arm.
      "Then I guess she'll have to die.  What a  Blood princess you turned out to
be."  The force of his words and the way his eyes pierced through her, left
her trembling.
      "Trevor."  Zachary called through grit teeth.  Trevor let go of Emily and
turned around to see his brother.  Emily took a step back and rubbed her arm
that was already bruising from Trevor's grip.
      "What the hell do you think you're doing?"  The thunder growled with
Zachary's words.
      "Wake up little brother.  The clock is ticking and you are so unaware.
Both of you."  He glanced back at Emily who took another step back.  "I
don't know why I even waist my time."  Zachary grabbed Trevor's arm and
turned him around so they were eye to eye.
      "Why are you doing this?"  Trevor smiled.
      "Like I said before, I'm not the enemy."
      "Like Hell you're not."  Emily said as she walked up next to Zachary.  "You
made the truck wreck, the ground shake."
      "That wasn't me."  Trevor said with almost a laugh.  "Can't you two see it?
  It's staring you right in the face."
      "I don't believe you."  Zachary said.
      "It wasn't me!"  Trevor snapped.
      "Then who!?"  Emily demanded.
      "Me."  The three looked up and saw Nancy standing near the top of the hill.
  Her face was covered with blood that the rain slowly washed down the side
of her face.
      "Nancy?"  Emily gasped.
      "No look!"  Zachary pointed to the shadow behind Nancy.  A man walked out
to the glow from the truck lights.  Emily almost dropped to her knees at the
sight of him.
      David's eyes were wide, and it sent chills down Emily's body.  He had his
arm extended out, holding Nancy in his power's grip.  Emily just noticed
Nancy trying to struggle with the hold.
      "Let her go!"  Emily screamed as she ran toward the hill.
      "Emily wait."  Zachary warned as he released his brother.
      "Ah Emily."  David started as Emily came to a stop just in front of him.
"I did love you so much.  You were my little jewel, my secret weapon."
      "Don't lie to me, not now."  Emily said as she clinched her fist.  "Why are
you doing this?"
      With a smile he told her.  "The joining of two powers is complicated.  My
heart is dark, yet yours is of royal light."  Emily looked over at Zachary
confused.
      "You two could never bond together because your powers would reject each
other.  Sort of like the positive and negative ends of a magnet.  He wants
your powers because you're the princess."  Zachary explained.
      "Binx was king?"  Emily asked under her breath.  She looked down at her
trembling hands.
      "Exactly."  David said as he lifted his arm, causing Nancy to float up
above their heads.  Emily went to stop him, but Zach grabbed her arm and
whispered in her ear.
      "I won't let him hurt her."
      "I had to find a way to darken you heart."  David added.
      "So you pretended to go to your sister's?"  She asked.
      "Naive fool.  I killed my sister when I was seven years old."  He paused
for a second as he thought about the way he did it.  "Then I was going to
fake my death."  He continued.
      "And when you came back, my heart would be dark, and I would be happy to
see you."
      "Then we'd rule together.  Our kingdom would be great."  David finished.
      "But it didn't happen that way." Emily pointed out.
      "No, because this bitch manipulated you into seeing this guy."
      "Nancy didn't have anything to do with it."  Zachary started.  "I have been
watching over Emily since she was an infant.  I've loved her all her life."
Emily turned and looked at Zachary.  Suddenly she knew why she was having
the dream.  She somehow knew about Zach all along.
      "Then you're to blame."  David threw out his am, sending Nancy flying over
and past their heads.
      "Nancy!"  Emily screamed.
      "I've got her."  Trevor announced as he flew up and wrapped her in his
arms.  Emily ran to them, leaving Zach and David behind.
      "Nancy are you okay?"  Emily kneeled down where Trevor laid her.
      "My head.  I think I really hurt myself during the wreck."
      "It's okay, I'll see that you're taken care of."  She glanced behind her
and saw Zach and David walking toward each other.  "Trevor stay with her."
      He looked down at Nancy and leaned close to her ear.  "I don't have the
power to heal.  That's more than I can handle."  Nancy was shaking from the
cold.
      "Emily will save me.  I know it."
      Emily took off running for the two guys.  "Stop this."  She demanded as she
jumped between them.
      "Your heart is his now."  David growled.  "Once he's gone your powers will
be with mine."
      "With or without him, I would never rule with you."  She slapped her hands
together, sending a spark out.  David was knocked back a few steps.
      "You bitch."
      She smiled warmly.  "Oh thanks pumpkin." She said sarcastically. He glared
at her as he lunged forward.  The two locked hands as a light began to glow
between their flesh.  Zachary watched in awe as the two large powers
rejected each other and threw them around.
      "End this now!"  She screamed with exhaustion in her voice.
      "With pleasure."  David threw her to the side and jumped for Zachary.  She
saw him grab Zach from behind and squeeze his neck with inhuman strength.
Any person's head would had been ripped from the neck with that much force.
      "Stop it!"  She threw her arms out and above her.  The ground began to
shake and lighting bolts pierced the sky.  The clouds above her began to
move in a circle, and a small funnel began to peek down from the sky.  David
let go of Zachary to look up.
      "Don't ever hurt me or anyone I love, never again!"  The rain threw her wet
hair around her face and piercing eyes.  David was suddenly shot up into the
funnel.
      "Ahh!"  His body could be seen soaring off toward the rocky cliffs of Sandy
Mountain.  The sound of him crushing against the sharp rocks, made Zachary
wince.
      The storm was still at its peek as Emily stared off where David disappeared
in the shore.  Zachary staggered to her and placed his hand on her shoulder.
  "It's okay now.  Calm down."  With his words the funnel melted away, and
the lightning stopped.
      "Oh God."  She turned to Zachary and buried her face in his chest.
      "I'm sorry Emily.  I'm sorry about everything.  I should have seen this
coming.  I should have stopped it from ever happening."
      "Guys get over here quick!  I think she's leaving us."  Trevor called out.
Emily and Zach ran over to where Nancy was.
      "Did you get him?"  Nancy asked.  Her speech was slurred, and her body was
no longer trembling.
      "I got him."  Emily assured her.
      "Good."  Emily glanced at Zachary who grabbed her hand.
      "Do you believe now Emily?"  He asked
      "In what?"
      "Your powers.  Do you believe in being a Full Blood?"
      "Yes.  I feel like I could smash a mountain with my bare hands."
      "Good."  He stood up and pulled her up to him.  "Now watch and see why
David was so determined to have combined powers with a royal."  He held his
hands up with his palms out to her.  She mirrored him, and he intertwined
their fingers.  They closed their eyes and felt the tingling charge course
throughout both of their bodies.  Trevor watched as the two began to glow
until they became one large ball of light.  Nancy's head fell to the side as
her final breath escaped from her body.
      The glowing ball began to hum and pulse.  The trees swayed wildly around
them, and the raindrops sizzled when it landed on the ball.  Soon the rain
stopped completely, and the night looked almost like day.  Slowly the ball
began to fade until only Emily and Zach remained still facing each other.
The woods around them settled and the night was lit only by Nancy's truck
lights.  They both turned and looked down at Nancy's still figure and Trevor
who was kneeled beside her.
      "I think you guys were too late."  Trevor said as a tear fell down his
cheek.
      "No, Nancy don't go."  Emily dropped to her knees and Zach followed.  The
three sat there in silence for what felt like years.  Suddenly Nancy jerked
to the side, startling them.  She gasped for air as her eyes shot open.
      "Damn I'm cold."  Nancy complained loudly.  Emily broke into tears and held
her friend.
      "Don't ever scare me like that."  Nancy patted Emily on the back.
      "Don't ever throw me twenty feet across the woods and I won't."  They all
laughed as Emily sat back.
      "It's good to have you back."
      "I knew you could do it Emily."
      "A friend once told me that it takes more than strength to be the most
powerful." Nancy smiled at her, and realized something for the first time
since she woke.  She looked at her right hand and saw Trevor holding it
tightly against his chest.
      "You're trembling."  She whispered to him.  He let out a nervous laugh.
      "I guess I'm happier to see you than I thought."  He freed one hand from
hers so he could brush a blonde strand of hair from her face.  She turned
away to Emily and blushed.
      "That's weird, I'm suddenly not cold, but I'm still shaking."
      Zachary looked over at his brother and the two made eye contact.  Neither
one knew what to say, but Zach held out his hand.  "Thank you."
      Trevor looked at his hand, with a look on his face that was difficult to
read.
      "I'm sorry."  Zach started.  "You were right.  I never saw it coming, and I
pushed you away."  Trevor shook his head.
      "Let's not talk about that now.  Despite my shady past, you are a part of
me, and I didn't want to see you hurt.  That's all there was to it."  Trevor
took Zachary's hand with a strong grip.  Without another word, the two made
a pact to start fresh.
      With a smile on their faces, the four stood up and walked toward the truck,
not bothering to brush the leaves and mud off of themselves.  "Oh my truck."
  Nancy said.  Trevor walked up behind her and grabbed her hand.
      "It's okay."  Emily started.  "I can do this."  She held out her hand and
the truck moved up the steep incline, to the road.  As it floated up, the
metal began to repair itself.
      Jessie paced back and forth on the front porch of Quest Compound.  Jonny
was sitting off to the side watching her.  He could feel the danger that the
night held.  Jessie had been like this since the rain first started.  When
Nancy arrived looking for Emily, Jess nearly had a breakdown.  "She's
upset."  Jessie said.
      "I know Emily will be okay."  He assured her for the tenth time that hour.
      "Her boyfriend is dead.  If I had lost you that day in the cave..."  She
trailed off as she sat next to him.  Jonny wrapped his arm around her and
kissed her hand.
      "Don't think about it."  They sat in silence for a moment before they heard
a vehicle pass by.
      "Is it them?"  She asked as she sat up in her seat.
      "No, just relax for ten seconds, please."  It got quiet again, but then
there was another car coming.
      "It's her."  Jessie announced.  "I can feel it."  They stood up together
and watched the headlights drive up to them.  After the truck stopped, Emily
jumped from the back and ran to her parents.
      The three hugged and kissed as Emily broke down into tears.  Zachary jumped
out  the back of the truck, while Nancy and Trevor got out the front.  He
kept his distance from Emily and her parents, feeling his heart weigh down
in his chest.  After a moment or two, Emily pulled from her parents and
looked up at them.
      "What happened?"  Jonny asked as he brushed some dried mud from her cheek.
Her clothes were torn and dirty.  Jessie looked up and noticed all the kids
looked like they  had been  playing in the mud.
      "It's a long story."  Emily turned to Zachary and held out her hand,
motioning him to come to them.  He slowly walked up next to her and met her
parent's gaze.
      "Mom, Dad, this is Zachary."  They both seemed confused.  They thought she
was morning the death of her boyfriend David.  When she sensed their
confusion she added.  "There's some stuff I need to explain."  She led her
parents toward the house.  "Let's go inside."  She called to Nancy and
Trevor.
      As everyone disappeared inside, Emily stopped Zachary at the door.  "So you
have been watching over me since I was an infant?"  He let out a loud sigh
and nodded.
      "Yeah, I guess I shouldn't had opened my big mouth."  She only smiled and
leaned toward him.
      "Thank you."  She put her arms around his neck and rubbed her cheek against
his.  As she looked up, their eyes met, and he pulled her up into a deep
kiss.  When they broke she had a large smile on her face.
      "What are you smiling about?"  He asked curiously.
      "I don't think the dream is going to bother me anymore.  You have come
back."
      "And the Kingdom?"  He asked.  She smiled and threw her head back.
      "And the Kingdom will be as great."
THE END
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  I hope ya'll liked this one.  I put a lot of hard work, love, and me into
this.  I'm proud to post this with my name on it and with JQ as my story
base.  It's been a long, long time since I felt compelled to write such a
lengthy fiction, but once I got started I fell in love with Zachary, Emily,
Nancy, and complicated Trevor.  I'm coming to my fourth year since I wrote
my first fanfic.  If it hadn't been such a hit, I might had never wrote all
the others.  I'm sure the next time I can't sleep, Jonny and the gang will
want to come out and play, and somewhere in the myst another fic may
surface.  Who knows?....
Thanks for reading.
