Letter of Credit and Currency Exchange


The Letter of Credit of L/C guaranties payment between your company in the U.S. and Japan.
  1. The buyer's bank sends the seller's bank a quotation
  2. The bank then checks the account and transaction.
  3. The buying bank issues the L/C with terms.
  4. The U.S. bank gives the okay and shipping takes place.


The L/C also insures inspections and makes sure that everything is paid for up front. The L/C also insures that all currency is converted correctly.


Don't get cheated! The Japanese exchange rate is 105.16 yen per U.S. dollar. Make sure that you get the right amount and that you are sending the right amount.
