Guild Submission Information
Guilds

A guild is an organization within the reenactment organization designed to help research, recreate, and share the knowledge of period activities of a broad nature. Examples would include a Mystics guild (dedicated to the more humanistic arts practiced during the period,) a Craft guild (for those arts of the crafting of items of period and useful nature), a Navigators guild (for period recreation and maintaining directions to sites!), an Armorers Guild (for combat weapons and armor), a Bard’s Guild (period music, lays, etc.) and so forth.

To start a Guild, one must submit to Kingdom Crown a petition of at least five (5) signatories. Unless there is a good reason (Such as a guild for said activity already extant) the Guild should then be chartered and created in that Kingdom.

To facilitate the broad interests involved in such an undertaking, within the Guild would be Houses. A House is a group of people in a given area (area being defined vaguely but with the intent that all members will be able to meet face to face on a semi-regular basis. However, due to size constraints, this may be waved if the membership chooses to.) who share a similar interest in a given facet of the subject matter. For example, a House in the Navigators guild might include a House for sites, events, etc. for a given state. A House in the Craft guild might be all weavers in a given area, or all silversmiths in a Kingdom because there are so few. Membership in a given house cannot be denied as long as the applicant shows a genuine interest in the field.

To start a House, a group of at least three (3) members of the Guild must petition the Kingdom Guildmaster. Barring a reasonable logic, (such as a House of the same study already extant in the area,) the charter should be granted. A Speaker (see below) should then be chosen.

Organization shall be as follows:

Guildmaster: The Kingdom head of a given guild. Elected from the membership of the guild annually.

Speaker: The appointed representative of any given house. Responsible for coordinating membership, introducing new members, etc. Chosen from within the house via a popular vote.
