He is an easy-going person who has a bright personality and quickly befriends anyone. However, in the cockpit he becomes the God of Death which he calls himself and uses his beam scythe without hesitation. Duo was once in a small group called the Sweepers. He found Gundam Deathscythe and tried to blow it up. He failed and Professor G found him trying to do so. He gave the Gundam to Duo and Duo then became the God of Death. When he met up with the other pilots, one could see that he was the almost the exact opposite of Heero but would still go to lengths to make sure that a job gets done. Still, he isn't too keen about missions that involve suicide.

Duo first met Heero when he shot him, thinking that he was trying to hurt Relena, who was also there. He then stayed with Heero throughout most of the war, helping him (or trying to) to fix his mobile suit after Heero resurfaced it. At one point, Deathscythe was destroyed when it was taken and Duo was fleeing from the OZ corporation. This was the only point (it seems) that Duo was ever at the depths of despair which says something about his personality and outlook on life. He also was the pilot uses to try out the Zero System for OZ and it took him over while he was using it. Duo also was the one to find Trowa in the circus after he had lost his memory. Duo tried to help him get it back. In the final battles, Duo fought for Peacemillion with the other pilots and was the one that found and freed the five scientists which were forced to work for OZ at the time.

In Endless Waltz, Duo caught up with Sally and Noin to work against Mariemaia's army. Deathscythe was returned to him and he fought with them in the battle against the enemy. In the end, he went back to live with Hilde and work in a garbage dump that he had previously called home.

MY TAKE!!! Duo is one of my favorite pilots also, and for many reasons. He is always cherry and has a bright personality which I can't say for any of the other pilots. Quatre is nice but Duo is also extrememly funny and sarcastic which can calm people down during stressed times. Those are good traits to have. Duo is also one of the better fighters. The way he handles his beam scythe is admirable and he does so with a vengence. He's also a tough guy and will do a lot to get the job done, while keeping a cool head and healthy personality all at the same time. I really can't think of anything wrong with him except for the fact that sometimes, he gets too cherry and annoying. Also, in some battles, there is no room for people who try to look on the bright side. I know that Duo can be serious but it's his nature to try and be funny which could get you killed in a serious battle.
