4g) John Philip (22 Jun 1713-3 Dec 1765); m.1744 Lady Frances Gower (12 Aug 1720-1788); per History of Parliament, he married Lady Frances two days after she gave birth to their son; the same source says they had two sons and one dau; I do not know whether John Frederick, 3rd Duke, was the son born before marriage, but most sources give his birth date as being in 1745, so either there was a son born before marriage who died young, or John Frederick’s birth date has been altered so that he appeared legitimate
