In 1754 she succeeded her father as 7th Baroness Compton; she d. at Leixlip Castle 5 Sep 1770; m.19 Dec 1751 George Townshend, 4th Viscount Townshend, 1787 Marquess Townshend (28 Feb 1724-14 Sep 1807); her peerages descended to her descendants; most sources, including GEC say she d.14 Sep 1770, but Walpole was already sending condolences to her mother-in-law on 13 September, and apparently entries in Lady Mary Coke’s Journals show that the death was known in London on 10 Sep.
