In the 21st Century, mankind lives on two planets. Following the collision of an ice asteroid, massive terraforming has made the planet Venus capable of supporting life. People from Earth have colonized the formerly hostile world and thrived for four generations. But they brought with them the darkest side of their humanity--Venus is about to become hostile again. Hiro Seno, a hotshot motorcycle jockey on a race team, is witness to the first strike on his country, Aphrodia, by the opposing nation of Ishtar. Huge battletanks and warplanes quickly lay waste to his city, and only those with wit and strength survive the attack. The Aphrodian army is quick to mobilize and retaliate...and despite his opposition to warfare, Hiro soon finds himself on the front lines fighting for his very life! Meanwhile, Susan Summers, a fiesty journalist visiting from Earth, is caught in the whirlwind of political intrigue and plunged into espionage bringing her face-to-face with the leader of Ishtar itself.
The Venus Wars is the story of young people cought up in devastating events. A dark, tense backdrop is artfully combined with rich design and state of the art animation directed by Yoshikaza Yasuhiko, one of Japan's famous Gundam and Dirty Pair, "Yas" has given his fans one breathtaking adventure after another...and The Venus Wars is no exception! |
