The legends of Echo.....      I was a cute little woodland nymph who loved sports and the outdoors. I was a great friend to Zeus and some of the other gods as well. I was a bit of a chatterbox but soft spoken, and Zeus liked to use that part o fme to his fullest advantage....One day, he asked me to distract his wife Hera so he could go and flrt with the fairies. Well I did my best talked to her about anything and everything lol, but she caught onto me, so I was the one who got in trouble. =( My punishment came in the form of a curse that I can't speak unless spoken to, and I can only repeat what is said.   One day I saw the most georgeius water nymph, his name was Narcisus. I would hang out in the tress and watch him, oh he's just the perfect nymph for me I'd think; too bad that I cant talk to him though. Instead I would just reapeat his words about love and beauty. He thought I was a strange nymph cause he always saw me around and would hear my faint voice speaking his sweet words. Thanks to Hera and her gay punishment, I pined away for him in a cave..my body turned to stone, and my voice was all that was left..an echo.   Now for the other tale of my demise..Well yes I was a cute little woodland nymph who loved the outdoors and sports, a bit of a chatterbox, and soft-spoken, so I had my fair share of attention from the males, but I would push their love away for I had my eye on Narcisus (the one I couldn;t have). Well one of the gods took a liking to me, his name was Pan. He was a satyr-half man and half goat. He thought that I was playing hard to get, when I just didnt't have any interest in him. When Pan realized this, he sent a hord of shephards after me to cut me up into pieces!! The freakiest part is that even though I was in pieces, I could still talk!! YES all my pieces could speak!! Well Artemis liked me so she gathered all my pieces and scattered me all over the world and that is another way of why we have echos =)      Here in modern times I've not changed much...I've beaten the 2nd way to my death... I do love sports still and the outdoors and I can be a talker at times LOL. Baseball: Pirates and Braves Football: Steelers, Marshall's Thundering Herd NASCAR: #3 RIP <3 always!!
