Nintendo Talks Back!

This is what I sent:
OK, I've been a long-time Zelda fan, I've always had a thing for epic fantasy type stuff, and thus Zelda is like one of my most favorite things in the world. When I saw the Spaceworld 2000 reel, I was utterly amazed, this is what I'd been waiting for, the greatest gaming system, and the greatest game, finaly meet in a glorious epic for truth justice and the hylian way. Then came Spaceworld 2001. I saw link, and I though, Oh my god! He's a power-puff-girl! (He even looks like a girl in some of those Pics) Anyway, I saw link much younger, and, obviously, a cartoon. This isn't link. Miyamato may be good, he may be different, I even respect him as the greatest game creator of all time. But this simply will not stand. This is NOT Zelda. I don't care what you say about the GamePlay, that is not Link, and this is not Zelda.

Hope you get Smart and change it back,

And I got this back:

Hello,

Thanks for sending us your comments. At Nintendo, we believe that the NINTENDO GAMECUBE will succeed or fail on the basis of bringing players something innovative…something new. That holds from the shape of the console, to its connectivity with Game Boy Advance, to some ground breaking new titles.

The new Zelda is just another example of that desire to be different. What you see on screen is not only an unprecedented form of animation in a video game…but more importantly, an artistic vehicle for Mr. Miyamoto to reinvent the Zelda series, just as he has for the past 15 years.

We appreciate you sharing your feedback with us, and have forwarded your comments to the appropriate department for further review.

One more thing, I wanted to let you know that we are inviting all of our consumers with Internet access to sign-up for the Nintendo Power Source and receive free E-mail updates about all of the hottest Nintendo news. You can sign-up at: http://www.nintendo.com/newsletter.html.
