Here's a better picture of the underside of the system, no one quite know what the serial ports are for, but the 'high-speed' port is for a broadband internet addapter (Thats straight from the Nintendo website, so I'm pretty sure we'll get to see it, unlike the 64DD ::pouts:: )
Now, the controler. Nintendo's last controller was innovative at the time, as is this one. Many say this drives away hard-core gamers, but I beg to differ. Some noteable features are the numerous directional pads, what the are all for I don't know. Another interesting part is the large action button, this was once belived to be the replacement for the 'Z' button, but I have been informed its right in front of the 'R' shoulder button (See black controller pic). Throw-back buttons X and Y from the SNES are accompanying 'B' in a ring outside the action button. Even more interesting, remeber the direction 'C' buttons? They're back too, only this time in the form of an anolog stick, its like they just evolved 'em or something.
Last but not least, the rear end of the GameCube, featuring a carying strap (Very cool in the Japanese Scociety), and all the hook up slots.
Ok, new stuff, got a picture of the Cube's packaging, so this is what to expect when you pick yours up.
And to the right we see Nintendo's second stab at using multiple hues for consoles.
An excelent shot of the basic hardware:
11/10/02 UPDATE: I found this while poking around the Nintendo of Japan webiste... The Japanese get all the fun gadgets:
11/25/02 UPDATE: Looks like they found a use for serial port number 2, the Nintendo GameCube GameBoy Player will be able to play advance games, and most likely all the original GB games as well.
