Our 45th Year Class Reunion will be Saturday, August 7, 2004, 6:00 PM, at the Eagles Hall, 5050 Jackman Road, Toledo, OH (the Eagles Hall is just north of the Laskey Road and Jackman Road intersection). The cost for a full buffet and music from the '50s & 60's is $24 per person if you make your reservation before June 14 (it's $27 if you reserve after that date). The dress is casual.
There will also be a pre-reunion gathering on Friday evening, August 6, 2004, 7:00 PM, at Sidelines, 8116 Secor Road, Lambertville, MI. A tent will be set up with an appetizer buffet for $8 per person. Sidelines (formerly Foxe & Hounds) is next to the Lambertville Hardware store.
Thanks to Mary (Gintzer) Miller and Chuck "Hall of Fame" Rimmer for working out the details. Make your reservations for these events by mail to Mrs. Mary Miller, 2661 Thunderbird Trail, Lambertville, MI 48144. You must include payment for the Saturday evening event (make checks payable to "Bedford Class of 1959"). Payment for the Friday night event will be collected at that event. Mariyln Quinn: |
Marilyn (Quinn) Gurecky has encountered problems in the past, and has recently run into some more. She was admitted to the hospital twice in May with mini strokes and high blood pressure, but the previous pituitary tumor appears to remain in check. While in the hospital the second time, the furnace in their home malfunctioned, causing severe smoke damage. Further details and mailing address available via e-mail from Joyce (Masters) Leverton.

Chuck Rimmer: |
Here's the good news: Last November Chuck was inducted into the "Bedford Hall of Fame" (see the Toledo Blade news article). But there's also bad news: In mid-April, Chuck suffered a broken hip. As a result of hip
surgery to insert pins, Chuck's kidneys failed and dialysis was required for a time, but he is home now and recovering well. His current mailing address can be obtained via e-mail from Joyce or Augie.

Florida Reunion: |
On Saturday, March 6, the following six classmates (and significant others) met in Florida: Jim Allen & Mary Ann McBee, Ron & Drenda Madalinski, Gene & Ellie Hubbard, Bill & Ethelene Martin, Wayne Batts & Bobbi, and Ellen (Danzeisen) & Verlin Jackson
[Click for Photos].
Ron and Drenda recently purchased a mobile home in Ruskin, FL, and were investing some "sweat equity" in their new dwelling. Gene and Ellie were wrapping up the estate of Ellie's Dad who lived in FL. Bill and Ethelene Martin drove over to Ellenton from Gainesville to join the group. Verlin and Ellen were enjoying a second winter in Florida, avoiding snow and ice in Toledo.
This was the first BHS '59 gathering that Wayne Batts had attended since HS. Wayne moved to Florida in the late '60's and worked with GTE, participating in the wiring of Disney World. He now lives in St. Cloud, part of the greater Orlando area, and works part-time as a security guard at the Silver Spurs Rodeo (Kissimmee). Wayne has had a kidney transplant and is now a "living miracle." Another winter reunion in Florida is planned for March, 2005.
