Ingredients:
12 slices of bacon
4 cans (16oz.-19oz.) molasses style beans or similar
2 medium onions, chopped (about 2 cups)
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup yellow mustard (not the dry stuff)
1 tsp. ground ginger
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350.
Cut 6 slices of the bacon into 1 inch pieces and set aside.
In a 2 1/2quart casserole dish, combine bacon pieces and beans.
Add the rest of the ingredients and stir until mixed.
Put the remaining 6 slices over the top.
Bake UNCOVERED until thick and bubbling and top bacon looks cooked
(about 60 to 90 minutes).
Makes 12 servings.
