Gum Drop Cake

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup sweetened applesauce
1/2 cup hot water
2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp cloves
1 1/2 cups raisins
1/2 pound candy gumdrops
1 cup chopped nuts

Preparation:

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. Beat well. Stir in applesauce and hot water.
Sift together flour and spices. Add to batter and mix well. Fold in raisins, gumdrops and nuts.
Pour into large loaf pan and bake at 300-325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
