War! Warrior clashes against warrior. It is every man for himself. Everything from hands to swords, to arrows to clubs are used to kill. Clubs beat down; swords go through stomachs, cut off limbs and slash against armour. Warrior upon warrior is knocked down. Blood spills and fire explodes!

Voice – EVE!!!

Eve screams and jumps up out of her bed.

Alex – Whoa!!

Eve looks wildly around her bedroom breathing heavily. It was all a dream. She looks to Alex surprised and Alex looks back equally shocked

Eve – What are you doing here?!

Alex- Calm down!! I was just trying to wake you

Eve- For what?

Alex – Demon hunting (taps watch) It’s that time. (looks at Eve's shocked face) Bad dream?

Eve – Yeah. There was . . . war.

Alex – And that’s why I don’t have night time naps. Thinking about demon hunting can get into your dreams. Shake it off. Come on!

Cut to the main room in Eve’s apartment. Alex walks out of the bedroom with Eve behind her.

Eve – Alex. . do you. . ever doubt what you’re doing?

Alex – (stops and slowly turns around) What do you mean?

Eve – I just sometimes wonder if the ends justify the means.

Alex – I’m not sure I follow

Eve – I’m becoming uncomfortable with the amount of violence. I wonder if it’s taking me away from my path and if it’s leading me back to . . . Livia.

Alex – If you’re that uncomfortable I’d say you’re not likely to become Livia again.

Eve – Am I really saving souls here?

Alex – I get like that sometimes. I wonder if we’re really making a difference or just keeping things status quo

Eve – How do you keep going?

Alex – Oh you know, I tell myself whatever philosophical crap I need to get me through the night and get the job done.

Eve – Now I remember why I don't like talking to you about my problems.

Alex –(shrugs) I ain’t Craig. (claps) Come on, let’s go! (turns and leaves the apartment)

Eve shakes her head. She can still hear the screams and cries from her dreams. But mostly she hears the voice that screamed her name. We pan away and fade from Eve to a water pool that peers into the chaos that is in the underworld.

Souls of the Elysian fields are being beaten down by clubs held by dirty hands. More souls are being sliced through the stomach with swords held by torn and tattered people. Screams and cries echo and bloods spills as explosions go off setting many a soul on fire.

Pan away from the pool around the marble hall of Olympus to where Persephone is watching. Behind her Evander is pacing. Evander looks at the pool and gestures at it wildly

Evander - Look at this . . . this mess. We tried to contain them and we only made it worse. They planned this in our absence and now my power is not enough to stop it! . . . .(sighs and relents at the thought) The boy was right. We need her.

Persephone - (whips around to face him) No!

Evander – I know how you feel about her but she may be the only one who can beat back that chaos!

Persephone – She is the reason we have such chaos! Her very arrival marked the end for all of us. Our power was diminished. Hades died trying to preserve it! The man I loved died because of her!

Evander - (looks at her saddened) I didn't know you still felt that way.

Persephone - (turns away from him) It was a painful time and I don't want her to remind me of it.

Evander – After what happened with our daughter, she is the last person I want to go to but with her legacy and her power she may be the only one who can set things right. Otherwise . . . I might have to take more drastic measures.

Persephone – No! I don't want that! I don't want to lose you too!

Evander - If we do nothing the chaos will spread to Olympus and there us apart. We are out of options. I'm going to find her. I'm going to get Eve

Cut to demons fighting our trio in a cemetery in the dead of night.

Cut to Alex who jumps up and does a split kick in the air kicking two demons in the head.

Pan over to Craig who is reading a book. He is nodding as he reviews the literature. He turns the page and reads a few more lines. Behind him Alex tumbles into view with a demon close on her trail. Alex gets up and begins to struggle hand to hand with the demon, Craig seems oblivious.

Craig – Hmm, that’s interesting. It appears that a Colari demon can’t be decapitated; they have an extra layer of bone that make decapitating impossible.

Alex – Ah, a little more help with how I can kill it please!

Craig – Oh yeah! (turns back a page and calls out) Slice up!

Alex kicks up a sword by her feet and the slices the demons from the groin up through it’s head. It falls apart in two pieces.

Alex – Now that’s what I call a splitting headache!

Craig just rolls his eyes and Alex shrugs.

Alex – Well I thought it was funny

Cut to Craig who rolls under a demon, grabs an axe and slices its head off. Craig spins around and back hands another demon then punches him with a right hook then kicks him in the side. Craig then brings his axe down and slices demon from the head down through to the ground.

Alex – That wasn’t a Colari demon.

Craig – Effective move though

Pan over to Eve who runs up a lamp post and flips back over a demon chasing her. Upon landing Eve kicks the demon in the back and it slams head first into the post.

Another demon swings at her and she ducks then spins around and kicks the demon in the face. Unfazed, this second demon backhands Eve. She goes flying and lands next to a fire hydrant and her sword. She gets up grabs the sword and slices the end off of the fire hydrant. The water blasts at the demon. It is pushed back and it sputters distracted by the blast.

This gives Eve enough time to bring out her chakram and throw it at the demon cutting off it’s head. The chakram ricochets off a few trees then sails back to Eve who catches it gracefully.

The first demon Eve had knocked down against the lamp post is now on it’s knees

Demon – Very clever Livia! This modern world has brought out the true warrior in you.

Eve stops in shock her breath locked in her throat.

Craig – He’s trying to throw you Eve!

Eve looks to Craig

Craig - Don’t let him!

Eve hears a growl then looks back to see the demon charging at her. It knocks her down and opens it’s mouth wide as it crawls on top. It’s about to bite her head off when a sword comes down chopping off the demon’s head. The demon head bounces off Eve and rolls away on the ground and the lifeless demon body slouches on top of Eve. Eve looks up at Alex who holds a green ooze covered sword

Alex- What is wrong with you tonight?

Eve sighs still laying on the ground and covers her eyes. We pan to the right and fade to the fire escape outside Eve’s apartment at The Centre the next day. We pan further right to Eve sitting on a lawn chair. She lazily watches a spider crawl across the back of her hand on to the broad leaf of a potted plant. She sighs as she looks up watching two pigeons fly off. She sighs sadly.

Craig who is inside the apartment leads down to rest his arms on the open window and looks out at Eve.

Craig – You want to tell me what’s going on, what happened last night?

Eve – (shakes her head) I just lost focus that’s all

Craig – That’s unlike you

Eve – (snaps) There are a lot of things that are unlike me lately. (sighs) and more like Livia

Craig – So that’s it. This is about what that demon said. He’s praying on your fears Eve. That’s what demons do to snare souls. They use fear against people. They want you to doubt yourself.

Eve – I’ve been thinking about this on and off. Alex’s dilemma with her father got me thinking. I'm wondering if I'm denying myself and my true purpose by following this mission.

Craig – But you're helping people Eve.

Eve – This time is changing me Craig. I’m doing the opposite of what I teach.

Craig - You're fighting evil. We all are. We need you Eve. This world needs you to show us a better way! But your power is also the only way to stop evil from spreading.

Eve - But do I have to fight?

Craig – Talking to people and reaching past fears is important but sometimes you have the stop evil that lurks in the shadows feeding hatred and fear. That means fighting that evil with more than words. I hate to say this but no one likes to hear about achieving truth and hope though non violence and self sacrifice.

Eve – I’m afraid Craig. I’m afraid the violence is making me become Livia again.

Craig – I don’t think Livia ever stood for what’s right and just. You’ve got to stop worrying; you are still reaching people but we need your help to protect them as well.

Craig pats her arm before standing up and leaving the apartment

Eve sits there for a moment and then gets up and goes through the window back into the apartment. She sits down at her desk, twirls around in her chair before checking her faith site only to find there hasn’t been a hit in months. She clicks around a bit but then pushes away from the desk. She gets up and grabs a cookie and munchies on it. She looks at her Eli shrine

Eve – Any advice? (nothing) I didn’t think so.

The phone rings. She answers it

Eve – Hello? (smiles) James, you’re just in time to brighten my day . . . . . sure, I’ll meet you in a few minutes.

Eve grabs a blue hoodie and puts it on running downstairs to the centre.

Eve – (sees Alex’s back turned to her and calls out as she rushes past) I’m going out to see James. See you later

Eve leaves as Alex turns around to find Eve already gone before she could respond.

Alex - Hey!

Fade to the Manhattan streets. Eve and James and walking hand in hand.

Eve – So did Craig ask you to call me?

James - Alex actually. She knows you’re feeling down

Eve – There’s feeling down and feeling doubt.

James – Look, I don’t know much about demon hunting or destiny but I do know this world needs someone strong enough to care so it can heal. From what I’ve seen, that’s you.

Eve thinks about this for a moment. At that time a thief runs past her and grabs her purse and runs off

Eve – HEY! (runs after the thief)

James – Eve!!

Cut to they guy running and dodging through the people. Cut to Eve running after him and dodging the people. Eve sees the thief run into an alley. Eve runs into the ally after him.

Cut to the Alleyway. Eve stops short. She looks from side to side up and down. The alley is deserted with the thief nowhere to be found. She looks down at her feet to find her purse. She bends down to pick up her purse as the world around her shifts and turns a shadowy blue. A pair a sandaled feet step in to view. Eve looks up and we pan up to see Evander. Eve throws her purse at him, rolls on the ground to get away from him then stands in a fighting stance.

Eve - You lured me here!

Evander - I'm not here to fight you

Eve – (looks around her) What have you done here?

Evander – I stopped time briefly so we could have a chance to talk, uninterrupted. I need your help.

Eve - And why would I help you after what you did to Alex?

Evander - I'm not here about Alex. You’re the only one I could come to for help.

Eve - (relaxes a little but still stays in a defensive stance) What are you talking about?

Evander - Saving souls is your business. That is what I need you to do.

Eve - I don't understand

Evander - The wicked souls of Tarterous want to take over. The underworld is at war.

Eve - A war?

Evander - After the fall of the Olympian gods, the realm of the underworld protected by Hades himself was left unwatched. There was chaos. After Caesar escaped and attacked the Fates, we all new something had to be done. I was tasked with watching over the realm of the underworld. I was able harness the evil of Tarterous and the blessings of the field to bring back balance. I was able to seal the damned souls back in Tarterous confining them there. And for two thousand years we had peace.

Eve – What has that got to do with me?

Evander - The damned souls of Tarterous have planned for centuries how to get out and take over. They channeled the very core evil of Tarterous, formed an army, broke out and began attacking. They've taken over and the chaos is ripping apart the underworld. That kind of evil in is causing the balance between good and evil to be changed forever. They have become too powerful for me to fight or stop alone.

Eve - Why don’t you just do what you did before?

Evander – I can't. Over the centuries the powers of the Olympian Gods have been diminished. To do something like that again I would have to unleash my essence from within Tarterous to seal them in for good. I'd be trapped forever.

Eve – Better me then you huh? (shakes her head) You got yourself into this mess; you get yourself out of it. (turns away)

Evander - Even if it means all good souls will be damned? You are not the Eve I heard about.

Eve stops short

Evander – Xena wouldn’t turn away.

Eve doesn't look back but she stands there pondering

Evander - And of course if you turn away now you will never be able to save your brother

Eve - (eyes widen she turns around) Solan?

Evander - (nods) He is strong but he is young and inexperienced. He’s fighting, trying to hold the line. He won’t last long but you can save him.

Eve - I know what the Gods think of me. How do I know you're not tricking me to get rid of "The Bringer of Twilight?"

Evander - I can open a window to the underworld. It lets me watch over the realm from Olympus. You can see the truth for yourself.

Evander holds his hand up and directs toward a wall in the ally. Blue lightening crackles against the wall and blue and while colours appear on the wall and swirl open to create a window. An image of Solan appears. He is being grabbed by a dirty pair of hands and is being torn at. A dark skinned man runs up and grabs Solan and kicks the dirty looking man away.

Eve - SOLAN!

Evander - He can't hear you.

As Evander closes his hand the window also closes

Evander - I wouldn't be here if there was any other way. You're the only one who can help.

Eve breaths heavily and looks at Evander. She doesn't know if she should trust him but something in his eyes tells her that he is telling the truth.

Eve - You want my help. You've got it.

Evander - Then follow me

Evander walks away and is embraced in a white light. Eve follows Evander and is also enveloped in the same white light. They disappear and time returns to normal. James enters the alley. He sees Eve’s purse but no Eve. He picks up the purse.

James – Eve?

COMMERCIAL

Cut to the underworld

A flask of blue light appears. A rift in the wall is opened up revealing a blue and white light. From this rift Evander walks out. Eve who has followed closely appears behind. As soon as she has cleared the rift it closes behind her. She looks around

Eve - Where are we? I thought we were going to the underworld

Evander - You think I’d be as stupid as to just drop you in the middle of a battle. We’re at the far end of the River Stycs, at the entrance. Come we must hurry, we must . . . (stops hearing whimpering)

Eve looks around her trying to figure out where it's coming from. Evander does the same. He sees something peaking out from a crevice. He squints a bit then slowly walks over to a small crevice and pulls out Persephone shaking and crying. Her tear streaked face is shocked and she lets out a gasp and small shout of protest before looking upon Evander. Her face turns from shock to relief. She leaps into Evander's arms and he holds on to her tightly.

Eve looks away not knowing whether to feel happy for a couple reunited or angered knowing that this couple is Alex's parents who abandoned her.

Persephone - Oh Evander! Thank the gods you are here!

Evander - (pulls away) What's wrong? Why are you out here?

Persephone - The battle has worsened. No amount of power will hold them back. They are destroying everything in with fury in an effort to get to the Elysian fields. I came out here to hide. (looks to Eve who has been looking upon this scene) You.

Evander - (sighs) I told you I was going to bring her back

Persephone - (pushes Evander away slightly and walks over to Eve) You . . . Can you not even have the decency to look ashamed after all you’ve done to my family.

Eve - You're standing there lecturing me after all you've done to Alex, after all the pain you've caused her?

Persephone gasps in shock and brings her hand up to slap Eve across the face but Eve just blocks it and pushes the hand away

Eve - I'm not here to fight with you. I’ve got souls to save!

Eve pushes past Persephone and enters underworld. Evander looks upon Persephone with sad eyes.

Evander - (in a sad whisper) Things are going to get rough. You should stay here where you're safe.

Evander turns around and follows Eve in.

Cut to the Underworld. People are fighting and fires are blazing. Eve crouches behind a large boulder trying to see what's going on. Evander crouches behind her

Evander - So what's your plan?

Eve - I don't know yet. When I woke up this morning I didn't exactly expect to fight a war today. I don't do that anymore.

Evander - You used to be the Champion of Rome, Ares protégé; this should be easy for you

Eve - (sighs and closes her eyes for a moment) Yes and it haunts me every day.

Two fighters crash land in front of Eve. Eve snaps out of her reverie and takes the initiative as her battle instincts kick in. She quickly grabs both of them by their collars and bangs their heads together knocking them out. She then grabs her swords and tosses one to Evander.

Eve - Where's the entrance to the Elysian fields

Evander points over to a faint wisp of light around a corner.

Eve - I'm making a run for it! Cover me

Eve flips out over the boulder and kicks one fighter away out of the way upon landing. Another fighter brings her club down upon Eve. Eve blocks to club with her sword pushes the screaming woman away then slices her through the stomach. The fighter falls down seemingly dead for a moment then rises back up unharmed.

Evander grabs the fighter by the hair and pushes her into three more Tarterous fighters, clearing a path for Eve

Evander - You can't kill the dead!

Eve - Good to know!

Eve spins around and kicks another attacker dead center in the chest. Then roundhouse kicks him in the head. Eve ducks the swipe of a sword from another damned soul and plugs him in the knee cap. Then while on he is on bended knee Eve delivers and hard blow to his face knocking him out.

Eve jumps up and rounds the corner to the Elysian fields. Slicing her way through the crowd Eve and Evander make their way through. At that moment both Eve and Evander are blown back by an explosion. It causes a slight cave in.

Eve gets up slowly hurt, weakened and disoriented by the blast. She looks around her and sees Evander getting up

Evander – Damn fools! We’re trying to protect you!

Eve – What was that?

Evander – An old tactic used by Greek soldiers. Anything to keep the Army of Tarterous out

Eve looks around, everything is still blurry. In the distance she sees a boy getting into a scrap with two tattered burly men. Eve runs toward them. She jumps up and kicks one man out of the way but the other one beats her down with a club. The boy jumps on the man’s back but is thrown off. Eve grabs the club from the man and hits him with it. Eve gets up but a wisp of darkness wraps around her feet. Eve falls, crashing to the floor. She is being pulled through darkness and fire to the realm of Tarterous.

Eve – NO!!

Boy – EVE!!

Eve – Noooooo!!!!!

He grabs on to her but is pulled in along with her!! Evander sees this and ties to run after them, he jumps to make a grab for the boy but he just misses and Eve and the boy are dragged into the darkness.

Cut to black.

Back on earth James runs into the centre holding Eve’s purse. He is panicked. Alex looks at him skeptically.

Alex – Look I know you “Metros" are into your man bags and everything but it still looks like a purse and it’s not working for you.

James – (shakes his head) Eve is gone!

Alex – I know she went to meet you

James – No! She got mugged. She ran after the thief. When I caught up with her, her purse was there but she was gone. Just like that she disappeared!

Alex – Crap!

Alex leaps over the counter

Alex – (to waitress) Nina, take over! (grabs James) We got to get Craig!

Cut to the blackness. Shapes and light becomes more visible. We see Eve, her eyes are closed. She stirs a little and whimpers. She screws her eyes up and then opens them a little. She tries to get up but is having a hard time.

Boy – The transition to Tarterous is a jarring experience. Rest for a moment, it will come back to you.

Eve looks at the boy in recognition.

Eve – I know you . . . . Solan.

Solan – (smiles) I knew you’d come

Eve – You did? . . . .You did! That was you in my dreams! It was you who was shouting out to me!

Solan – I tried to contact you through your dreams. Callisto did it once to Mother. I’m not very good at it . . . you look so much like Xena

Eve – (she smiles and lifts her hand up) Solan

Solan lifts his hand up and their finger tips touch. They hug

Eve – (lets go and gets up) Come on, I've got to get you out of here, except . . . . I don’t know where here is.

Solan – I do. We’re in a section of Tarterous. I was here once, just before you were born.

Eve looks around at all the broken open cocoons.

Solan – Mother broke me out. I remember the way

Livia (voice) – We’re the same you and I

Eve turns around startled. She sees visions of Livia coming back to haunt her!

Solan – Eve, please we have to go!! Eve!

Eve can’t move, she’s stuck in place! She watches her torment!

Livia – The same cunning mind, the same love of power, the same dark soul!

Headless Man – You don’t remember me do you. The road outside Rome, you came galloping me along and . . (makes cutting motion under his head) Just for kicks. Oh I’d think I’d remember you. You didn’t even give a second thought.

Warrior – Death to the monster Livia!!!

Virgil – No man is innocent or woman! Why would Eli choose a murderer as his Messenger?

Xena – My little pacifist! How enterprising and hypocritical. Have you learned nothing from out time together!

Demon – Very clever Livia!

Varia – Changing her name does not change her crime!!

Livia – That’s right! People don’t change. Names change, times change, but actions, those speak louder then words. No matter what you do, you will always come back to me! I will always be here. You are forever bound to me

A cocoon forms around Eve, she is stuck there, tormented.

Solan – Eve look away!!

Livia – I’m Livia!!!

Visions of villagers strung up on crosses, villagers being bloodies and beaten and set on fire, amazons being beaten and chained and even Livia fighting with Xena flash at Eve. Eve’s eyes grow hollow and her skin grows pale as the cocoon continues to grow around her. Suddenly Solan runs up and jumps on the cocoon tearing it down, Eve and Solan go tumbling to the ground. Eve is still trembling from the horrors she’s seen

Solan – Eve please! I need you!!

Eve looks at Solan and is suddenly jolted out of her trance!!

Eve – Wha!!! (breathes heavy)

Solan – Come on let’s go!!!

Solan helps Eve up and they run out of the darkness.

Eve – What was that!!

Solan – Tarterous prays on your worst fear and biggest regrets. It tortures you with what could have been and what was.

Eve – That was horrifying

Solan – It’s supposed to be. Let’s get out of here!

Fade to Eve and Solan running out of the Tarterous Entrance in to the middle of fighting. Evander sees her.

Evander – Eve!

Evander uses his sword to cut down evil souls then uses his power to clear a path. Eve grabs Solan’s hand and runs with him. They run to Evander.

Eve – Take him!!!

Evander – What about you!?

Eve – Just go!!!

Three attackers try to block their way and make their own way through to the Elysian fields. Eve runs and flips over them. She kicks them all back and ushers Evander and Solan to the Elysian fields. She sees the attackers approaching quickly. She grabs a bottle of alcohol lying on the ground takes a sip. grabs a torch and blows on to it setting the attackers ablaze and screaming in agony.

Eve runs behind Solan and Evander and they all dive into the entrance of the Elysian Fields

Eve - Evander! Seal the Entrance!

Evander puts his hand up and the entrance to the Elysian fields is sealed with a thick slab of rock. But even as it is sealed it is being pounded on by the intruders from Tarterous

Evander - That won't hold them. I told you, my powers aren't enough anymore!

Eve - Maybe, but it will buy us time

Evander - Then you've got a plan?

Eve – No, not yet!

Evander - Not yet!?!

Eve - (angry) Excuse me but I just broke out of Tarterous. Will you cut me some slack!!

Evander – You don’t live up to your mother’s legacy!

Solan – You’re wrong!! She came to help everyone here!

Man – That’s right. Like her mother, she helps people because its right.

Eve - You. You were protecting Solan. I saw you save him

Marcus – How could I not. I owe it to his mother. . . to your mother.

Solan - This is Marcus

Marcus - I knew Xena (smiles and chuckles) A long time ago.

Evander - As much as I hate to break up this little reunion, we're running out of time.

Eve - What do you want me to do!!!???

Evander - You're a commander of Legions. You've got an army of willing soldiers here. Use them! Command them!

Marcus – He’s right. There are honorable warriors here. We will fight if you will lead us

Eve – (hesitates) I can't.

Evander – But, its for a good cause!

Eve – And what are you prepared to do for this cause?!

Evander - If I thought I could do this on my own I would.

Eve – Except you can, but you won't! You're being a coward and asking me to sacrifice all my beliefs and become a monster again. I can’t go back to being Livia!

Eve walks away.

Evander – (looks to Solan) What horrors did she see in Tarterous?

Fade to a small stream. Pan up to Eve sitting beside it watching the water go by. She seems to be very deep in thought. In the river she sees images of who she was as Eve in the past, the preaching and the praying. She closes her eyes knowing she can never go back to that. She opens her eyes and sees the reflection or Marcus. She doesn't look up to him as he sits down beside her.

Eve - It wasn't even a year ago I was standing by a stream like this wishing it would just swallow me up and take me away far away to a place where no one knew of Livia. And now more then ever I find myself being pulled back to her path. I am forever bound to her, tied to my past by that simple skill of throwing a punch.

Marcus - The past has strong ties and our past actions have stronger ties still, so strong it binds us, even in death. But there are stronger ties in life, like the one that binds you and me. Your mother.

Eve - (sighs) I'm not Xena. I do want to help you but I don't know how to without waging war. That kind of violence used to be so easy for me but it came with a price. My very soul.

Marcus - But you've been saved.

Eve - By divine intervention! There have been so many times since that I have almost returned to that path. Every day I live with the fear that one wrong step and I'll be on that path to darkness again with no way back and there won't be a second chance because I squandered the first. I can't become a monster again! I wish you could understand.

Marcus –(sighs) I understand more than you think. You know, I loved your mother once. She loved me too. But I died and I was sent to Tarterous for the evil that I did. But then Tarterous overthrew the Elysian Fields

Eve looks at Marcus shocked.

Marcus - (nods) Yes, this has happened before and it came close to bringing the kind of chaos we see now. I asked you Mother for help and she came. But then I had a shot to be with your Mother again and I was ready to break all the rules just to do so. Xena didn't want me to be in Tarterous but she knew the chaos and upheaval it would bring if we didn't set things right.

Eve - What did she do?

Marcus - What I asked of her. She set out to make things right and I was granted life for a short time to help her. (puts his hand to his chest) Then Xena stabbed me in the heart and killed me so I could get a second chance at being judged.

Eve - She loved you, but she killed you?

Marcus - She killed me because she loved me.

The revelation stuns Eve into silence.

Marcus - Does that make her a monster? The act was cruel but not the intentions behind it. She was trying to bring life and death back into balance. In extreme times an action that would be considered cruel is necessary if it saves people, if its helps in doing the right thing.

Eve – But do the ends really justify the means?

Marcus – Yes. I used to do evil things and I was sent to Tarterous because of it. But when the underworld was in peril, I used what I learned in life to help save the underworld. And it granted me another opportunity to be judged. I got to come to the Elysian Fields, for eternal peace.

Eve - I never knew this story

Marcus – Its a sad one but it ended the right way. Your mother and I helped save this place once. Now everyone here needs your help to save this place again. Take what you learned in another life and help us beat back the chaos.

Marcus turns to Eve and takes her hand. He puts his other hand to her chest.

Marcus - I know you are afraid of what is in here. But your mother is in here too. I know her and so I know you. She would help and its in you to help us too.

Eve - (takes a deep breath affected by what was said. She nods) Yes, let’s go. Let’s save the Elysian fields.

Eve gets up and with Marcus walks back to the sealed entrance where everyone is waiting

Eve - Assemble an Army. We have a battle to fight and souls save.

COMMERCIAL

Cut to the Elysian fields

Warriors and soldiers have dawned their old armor and are standing at attention. Roman warriors, Greek warriors, warriors bearing the symbols of Athena, Artemis and Ares. Eve walks down the line inspecting the troops. She stops short seeing a Roman warrior standing at attention. He looks exactly like the kind of solider she used to lead as Livia. She shakes her head an refocuses.

Eve - I want all shields up front in a testudo formation. I need archers behind that formation with heavy artillery at the back. The goal is keep them from crossing the threshold into the Elysian fields.

Evander approaches with two soldiers behind him. The soldiers are handing out swords and shields to each of warriors.

Evander - This won't be enough.

Eve - (sighs) I know. What we need most is time. If we can beat them back then we just need to keep them distracted.

Evander - For what?

Eve - For you.

Evander - (looks at her as he understands what she means. He shakes his head) No! I can't do that. I won't!

Eve - You have to

Evander - I would have to channel the very essence of the underworld. It would take every ounce of godhood in me to unleash the kind of power. I could be obliterated!

Eve -Look around you Evander! Look at what every soul here is willing to do to balance this realm! I am sacrificing my very life to help! What are you willing to do? (sighs) This war has already gone too far. I do not have the power to do send back damned souls to Tarterous. You do.

Evander - (harshly) Do you understand what you're asking?

Eve - (regretfully) Yes. And I wouldn't if there was another way.

Evander - (looks down as he balls up his fists) I wanted more time. I wanted to see Alex again. I wanted to try and make things right between us

Eve - I will tell her what you were willing to do here.

Evander - (looks up at Eve with hope then smiles ruefully and scoffs) Well, what's another couple of millennia. Am I right?

Eve lets out a laugh.

Eve - You and Alex are definitely related.

Eve looks past Evander as she sees Solan grabbing a weapon

Eve - Solan, what are you doing?

Solan - I'm going to fight. You'll need my help

Eve - It's not safe for you.

Solan - You can't tell me what to do. I'm older then you, remember?

Eve - (smiles a little) I know but for the sake of our mother please stay here where you are safe.

Solan walks away grumbling

Marcus - He has a strong spirit and a good heart. He is his mother's son

Eve - (turns around to face Marcus) And I'm my mother's daughter

Eve walks away from Marcus who just smiles. She walks over by the sealed entrance that is slowly breaking away from the constant banging by the attackers. Eve pats a few guys on the back who look like they are covering something over with dirt. Eve walks over Marcus

Eve - You know what to do. Push them back, maybe even find a way to to lure them back to Tarterous. We don't know how much power Evander will have to reset the balance. He needs every advantage.

Marcus - Understood. This will work.

Eve - Fighting won’t solve it all. But its an effective means to an end. (to Evander) Are you ready for this?

Evander – (sighs) Yes but this is not what I wanted.

Eve - It's not about doing what you want. It about doing what is right.

Evander - And what about the rest of the underworld? I can't leave it unprotected

Eve - (Looks to Solan and Marcus) You've got people to look after that for you.

Marcus – You might want to get some armor on. This will get pretty rough

Eve - Right.

Cut to all the soldiers standing to attention. One unit has their swords drawn another unit had large shields up in an old roman formation. Eve stands beside them in Roman armor very similar to what she wore as Livia

Eve - We're not going to wait for them to break down that wall.

Evander – Are you kidding?

Eve – Very basic strategy. Don’t let your warriors psyche themselves out by thinking about what’s out there. Just go out all fires blazing. Let's bring the fight to them! Evander remove the wall.

Evander waves his hand and the seal is removed. Dozens of damned souls fall in the entrance.

Eve - LIGHT IT UP!!

An Elysian field soldier throws a torch down along a row of dirt piled up against the entrance. It all caught on fire and blew up is a huge ball and flame and fire creating a mass explosion flying out into the rest of the underworld burning many attackers.

Eve - Good old Greek fire. (Puts her sword up and points it out toward the entrance) Let’s move out!!! Attack!

The soldiers with the shields push the attackers away from the entrance as the soldiers move out to begin the battle.

Cut to the Underworld where the battle begins. Eve flips over at the attackers into the midst of the battle. She puts her sword up to deflect the blow from another sword she then kicks the sword out of the hand of her attacker. She jumps up and kicks him in the chest then flips back kicking him in the chin sending him falling to the ground with a thud. She picks up the sword and uses two swords to deflect the blows and swipes from two more attackers. She jumps up and does a splits in the air kicking both attackers in the head simultaneously. She then runs up one attacker kicking him under the chin and flips back.

As Eve turns around she gets kicked in the gut. She is then punched in the face causing her to fall to the ground. She looked up to see a damned soul bringing his sword down upon her. Just as is comes down another sword blocks it's access. Eve looks up to see Solan. Solan pushes the sword away and punches the guy out with the end of the sword.

Solan - Told you you'd need my help

Eve - (gets up) Where'd you learn that move

Solan - Where do you think?

Eve - (smiles) Mother

Solan - Gabrielle actually

Eve - Same thing!

Two more attackers run toward Eve and Solan. Eve and Solan stand back to back. They look back at each other and smile before they defend against the attacks. Evander rolls over to Eve

Evander - I've ordered the soldiers to move the battle forward. Then I can begin the ritual to use the power of the underworld to bring back all the souls that belong in Tarterous. Tarterous will take those who have been judged for that realm.

Eve - What about everyone else?

Evander - The spell will be powerful. Everyone will have to hold on to something.

Eve - (looks to Evander saddened) I'm sorry it had to come to this

Evander – You’re right! If I'm ever going to get the respect of my daughter I need to learn the right thing to do.

Eve takes a deep breath preparing herself as the battle is moved toward Tarterous.

Cut to the battle. The soldiers are pushing the attackers back. A path is cleared for Evander to move through. He begins to chant and a light emanates from him as he channels all his power.

All of the Elysian field soldiers break off the attack and run for cover leaving the damned souls stunned at what has happened. Before they get a chance to run the grounds beings to shake and a wind begins to pick up. Suddenly the damned souls of Tarterous and being dragged back. They are being sucked one by one back to Tarterous.

Just as Eve is about to take cover she is grabbed onto by one of the souls of Tarterous. She is also about to be sucked in also when Solan bracing his feet behind a boulder grabs on to Eve's hand

Solan - EVE!!

Marcus runs over from his spot behind a wall and grabs onto Eve trying to keep her from being sucked in.

Evander - (shouts out) You must hold on until every damned soul is sucked back in!!

Persephone runs into The underworld and sees Evander. She runs over

Persephone - Evander!!

Persephone just then is lifted off her feet and is being sucked into Tarterous

Evander - PERSEPHONE! NO!

Marcus let's go of Eve and grabs on to Persephone and pushes her and himself back to his spot behind the wall.

Solan is still trying to hold on to Eve as the suction and pull from Tarterous grows stronger. Eve's hands are starting to slip away.

Solan - Eve!! You're slipping!!

Marcus just then comes bounding over preventing himself from being sucked in as he braces himself against the same boulder Solan has and grabs on to Eve's wrists.

Marcus - Our ties are strong Eve!! Too strong to break now!!!(shouts over to Evander) All the damned souls are in!!!

Evander looks at Persephone with sadness.

Evander - I must go

Persephone - (shakes her head wildly and begins to cry) No you can't!

Evander - I love you.

Evander lets Tarterous suck him in.

As he is pulled in an amazing bright blue light emanates from him causing Tarterous to be sealed shut.

Eve falls down as Marcus and Solan fall back as the suction suddenly stops.

The battle has ended. Everyone is safe.

Persephone runs up to the wall where the entrance had been and put her hands against it and weeps.

Persephone - Evander! My Evander. I love you

Eve gets up and walks over to her.

Eve - I'm sorry

Persephone turns around slowly and looks at her.

Persephone - Don't be (looks back to the wall) Now we will have peace

Eve nods and turns back to Marcus and Solan

Eve - Persephone won't always be here to watch over things. Will you watch over the Underworld?

Marcus - Yes. We all must do what we can to bring order and peace no matter what realm we are in. It’s the right thing to do.

Cut to the entrance of the Underworld where Eve, Solan and Marcus stand. Eve is still in her armor

Eve - You know what's strange about all this? I don't understand how some souls go here and others can go to heaven. My mother's soul was reincarnated.

Marcus - I guess every soul has a different path to follow and that path leads them where they are to go even in the afterlife.

Eve - (smiles) I guess the only question now is how do I get back to New York

Persephone - I can open a portal to take you back

Eve - You'd do that, even after everything that has happened?

Persephone - You sacrificed your beliefs just as Evander sacrificed himself for peace, for all of us. And now we have it and for that I am grateful.

Eve is a little taken aback by this comment. She looks to the ground a little disturbed.

Persephone – You’re my daughter's friend. Correct?

Eve - (looks up) I am

Persephone - Please look after her and please tell her of what has happened here

Eve - (nods) I will

Persephone raises her hand and opens a portal back to New York. Eve looks at Solan. He runs over and hugs her

Eve - (hugs him back) Goodbye Solan

Solan - Goodbye my sister. I love you.

Eve - (lets a tear fall) I love you too my brother.

Eve and Solan separate and she waves good bye to everyone and she turns around to walk through the portal. The portal closes behind her.

Cut to the Alleyway in New York late at night. Eve falls out of the portal as it closes. Eve looks at her surroundings then looks at herself. She realizes she still has the armor and mentally curses herself. She sighs and walks out of the alleyway and back to her home

Cut to outside the centre. Craig walks out and sees Eve

Craig - Eve!!

He runs over to her and takes her in his arms

Craig - Are you okay? What's happened? We've been worried about you!! (looks at her) What's with the Livia get up?

Eve - (looks at Craig shocked for a moment the recovers) It was necessary to protect myself. Why are you so worried?

Craig – You’ve been gone for two days!

Eve and Craig walk into the centre

Cut to inside

Eve – Two days! That’s impossible! I . . . (sees James) James! Oh no!

James - Hey! Are you okay?

Eve - I'm . . . I'm fine. .I'm . . .

Alex – (runs out of the backroom) There you are!! Where the hell have you been!? We’ve been worried sick about you!! . . .. Whoa . . . . Craig, I just sounded like your Mom

Craig – For the past two days I’ve been sounding like my Mom.

James – (weakly) I . . .uh . . .I got your purse

Eve – Thanks

James – I got really freaked out when you disappeared like that. What happened? (gestures to her outfit) Have an interesting time?

Eve – Evander, he . . .

Alex – That jerk!

Eve – No, no you don’t understand. The underworld was in chaos. There was a huge battle. I had to help. Millions of souls would have been damned

Craig – And . . .

Eve – The outcome was good . . . I guess. Alex, your father . . .he sacrificed himself to bring peace.

Alex – (surprised)Oh . . . I don’t know what to say.

Craig – This has been a stressful couple of days for everyone. I think we should all just get some sleep right now and sort things out in the morning. (looks to Eve) Are you okay? Do you need anything?

Eve – I’m fine. I just didn’t realize I was gone so long.

Craig – (gives her hug)I'm glad you're safe. Get some rest and we will talk about this tomorrow.

Eve – (nods) Yeah

Craig leaves the centre as James hugs Eve

James - I hate to leave you like this but I've got to go too. Call if you need anything (kisses Eve on the forehead)

James leaves as Eve just stands there tugging at her armor.

Alex just looks at Eve

Alex - Rough time huh?

Eve - Yeah. But I'm tired right now and I don't really feel like getting into it.

Alex - Are you sure? Look, you don't have to be on your own tonight. You can come back with me to the loft.

Eve - No, I'm alright. I think I could use a little quiet time. I'll see you tomorrow.

Alex - (hesitant) Okay. I'll lock the door on my way out.

Eve smiles weakly as Alex leaves. Eve turns off the lights and heads up to her apartment.

Cut to Eve's apartment.

Eve opens the door and steps in. She leans her back against the door

Eve looks at the sword in her hilt, she gasps and pulls it out and drops it on the floor

Craig - What's with the Livia get up?

Eve looks at the armor she's wearing in disgust and rips at it

Persephone - You sacrificed your beliefs

Eve falls to her knees

Livia – That’s right! People don’t change. Names change, times change, but actions, those speak louder then words. No matter what you do, you will always come back to me! I will always be here. You are forever bound to me

She crouches into a corner and looks over to her Eli shrine. Shock is written across her face

Eve- What have I done?
