Fade in. Sun pours in Eve's bedroom window. We pan over to two lumps in Eve's bed completely covered by the white sheets. One lumps stirs a little and lifts the cover from her head. It's Eve. She sighs a little as she wakes up. She moves around a bit and realises she's not alone. A confused look crosses her face as she furrows her brow. She kicks the lump next to her.

James (muffled voice) - Hey!

Eve's eyes open wide. She slowly turns over. James lifts the covers off his head.

James - (smiles)Good morning

Eve is speechless as she looks at James. She lifts up the covers and looks under. She realizes some things are missing.

Eve - Oh!

She slides her torso to hang over the side of her bed trying to gather up her clothes strewn over the floor while still trying to keep covered. James stretches and lifts his hands above his head as he smiles

James - I know!

Eve looks up at James astonished and then goes back gathering up her clothes.

James - I get it, it was so good you almost feel guilty (folds his arms under his head and lays back and smiles satisfied) Yeah, I have that effect on women.

Eve falls out of the bed on to the floor tangled in the sheet

Eve - Whoa!

James shoots up surprised as Eve reappears, sheet wrapped around her and arms full of her clothes.

Eve - I . . . uh . . . I should go!

James - It's your room.

Eve - Okay . . . maybe you should go?

James - Eve . . . you're not actually regretting what we did last night are you?

Eve - Yes . . . No! . . . .I mean . . . I don't know. It's been a while. . . . . . and I've never really been with someone that I . . . love. What if we made a mistake . . . what if we moved too fast too soon . . . and . . .

James - (interrupts her) I love you, you love me. There's nothing wrong with what happened. (looks at Eve's apprehensive face) Is there?

Eve - (sits on the bed) I don't regret what happened it's just . . . shouldn't I be . . . (can't find the words) I'm suppossed to be a messenger for peace . . .and last night wasn't exactly peaceful. (blushes at James' smile)

James - It comes down to one thing. Did it feel right or was it a mistake?

Eve - (looks at James) No it wasn't a mistake. And it felt right.

James - Then that's all that matters. (leans over and kisses Eve who kisses back)

Just then Morgan and Jeff walk in

Morgan - Hey guys . . .(sees the two) WHOA!

Morgan hides behind the wall out of sight. Jeff just stands there wide-eyed.

Jeff - (drawls) He - ey

Morgan's hand shoots out and pulls him out of sight! Eve blushes as she covers her self more. James puts on his pants.

James - Hey what's wrong!

Morgan - (from outside the door out of sight) Do you even know what time it is?

James and Eve look to the clock. It's 11:00 am

James&Eve - OH NO!

Cut to later downstairs in the centre. People are piling in giving James and Eve a few dirty looks.

James - While Alex was running the centre Eve and I were up every day to open it on time. The one time we miss and we get dirty looks

Morgan - All I can say is that it's about time.

James - Well, sorry for opening late!

Morgan - (smug smile) I was talking about the reason why you were late

James is about to bite out a sarcastic remark when he spots Katrina entering the centre, he goes silent as a concerned look crosses his face. Both Morgan and Eve follow his gaze. Katrina, Regent for Eve as head of the Tretomlic Amazons, looks behind her and nods as two bodyguards come forth.

Eve - What are they doing here?

Katrina points to Morgan

Katrina - Take her!

The two bodyguards are actually soldiers. They grab Morgan by the arms and hand cuff her.

Morgan - Hey! HEY WHAT ARE YOU DOING!

Eve - (wide eyed and surprised)Katrina, what are you doing?

They drag Morgan outside as she continues to protest. Katrina looks to Eve apologetically and walks out.

Cut to outside. Morgan is struggling against the amazons as Katrina walks out behind them. Eve runs out shortly after with James right behind her.

Eve - What is going on?!

Katrina - (ignoring Eve) Morgan you are here by under arrest!

Morgan - ARREST! For what?

Katrina - Betraying your tribe, abandonment and breaking your oaths. As a traitor you are to be held under arrest under Tretomlic guard until the arrival of your tribe for the commencement of your trial.

Eve - Katrina, let her go!

Katrina - I'm sorry Eve but you have no authority on this matter. Since Morgan is not of your tribe she is not under your jurisdiction. This order comes from Morgan's queen and we have been asked to hold her until their arrival.

Eve - This has to be a mistake. She didn't abandon them. They let her come here to fulfil her destiny!

Katrina - As an Amazon Queen yourself you can formally challenge the charges but you'll have to take it up with the Queen when she arrives

Eve - The Queen?

Katrina - Helena, Queen of the Aquitaine Amazons.

Open with a pan around a dimly lit room. It looks cold and damp. Pan over to a single jail cell. Inside is Morgan, sitting on a cot. Outside the bars Eve sits on a chair with her head in her hands. Eve takes a deep breath and lifts her head.

Eve - I'm not going to let you go that easily. So lets go over your defence again.

Morgan - (defeated) Just forget it Eve. It's true what they said. I betrayed my oaths and I abandoned my tribe.

Eve - To fulfil your destiny . . . (realizes something) You didn't tell them you were leaving did you?

Morgan - (sighs) I already wasted so much of my life. From the very first day I got there the Queen herself told me to follow my destiny wherever it took me. So I did.

Eve - (exasperated) Without telling anyone!?

Katrina (voice) - It's a pattern with her isn't it?

Eve and Morgan look to Katrina who walks into the light

Katrina - Morgan often just packs up and leaves with out saying a word to anyone. Her family, her boyfriend, the Amazons. (Morgan looks surprised) This information was passed to us when we were sent to apprehend you. The Queen took great pains to find you. She found out about your past, and your lover of the present. Abandoning the Amazons to be with a man is not looked on favorably.

Morgan - I didn't leave to be with Jeff. I didn't even know him then.

Katrina - Speaking of which. You have visitor.

Jeff enters. He sees Morgan and runs right over to her

Jeff- Are you okay?

Morgan - (nods) For the most part.

Eve - Morgan will get a fair trial won't she?

Katrina - I'm not sure there's much need for trial at all.

Katrina leaves the room. Eve gives Morgan a nod and Jeff a squeeze on the shoulder and follows Katrina out.

Cut to an ornate hall, the walls are lined with ancient Amazon tapestries, banners and weapons. Katrina walks into view with Eve close behind.

Eve - Katrina! (Katrina turns around) What do you mean? Is there not going to be a trial?

Katrina - She has admitted to the crimes. All we have to decide is the sentence.

Eve - But she left to follow her destiny and it was Helena who told her to do so.

Katrina - The life of an Amazon is not easy. And while anyone can join, when you are initiated you must make a commitment and honour it with all that you are.

Eve - Anyone can join?

Katrina - We often take in young girls and women living on the streets or in bad situations. At the very least we hope to give them an education and opportunities. But we also want to give them a home and a family.

Eve - That's very honourable.

Katrina - If they choose they can leave as educated and productive members of society or they can stay with us and be initiated as an Amazon. But the oaths are not to be taken with a grain of salt. You can't just come and go as you please. Morgan used the Amazons to find her path and then abandoned her tribe to follow it.

Eve - Is that how you see it?

Katrina - Eve, she lied to the Amazons about her intentions and she used the training and knowledge she was given to further her own ends.

Eve - Morgan has had a very hard life. I don't think she went to the Amazons to actively betray them. She has found something worth living for, worth fighting for! The Amazons helped her see that.

Katrina - We are an order of discipline and rules. We must uphold our law. You can be her advocate when we decide on the form of punishment. It may be less severe.

Eve - How severe can they be?

Katrina - (hesitant) It's up to the Queen really. When we spoke I asked her what her intention with Morgan was. She said . . . The worst spot in hell is reserved for those who betray.

Eve - That's doesn't sound promising

Katrina - Death or banishment is the standard. My guess is Helena will go for the former

Eve - Are you serious? How can that be? Eleanor of Aquitaine formed the Aquitaines! She was a Messenger of Eli. Surely they wouldn't . . . It's archaic!

Katrina - (defensive) Tradition is what keeps up strong! The Amazons have drifted apart, scattered to winds, barely able to survive. The only thing that has kept us together, were the old ways that have been passed down the generations. And with all do respect, I doubt The Aquitaines would have survived this long by staying true to the words of Eli.

Eve turns around swiftly and stares out the window at the city. She is taking deep breathes to control her emotions

Katrina - (sighs, regretting her harshness) I'm sorry. I know you're worried for your friend. Morgan is a good warrior

Eve - I just thought that maybe the Amazons would be different after all they have faced over the years, that killing was never a proper means to a desired end. I know all too well the severity and the harshness of Amazon law.

We pan through the window where Eve is looking. We pan over Manhattan to the river Hudson. The image fades and shifts to the ocean.

*Flashback*

We pan up and see a boat. We are in Ancient Greece. The Boat sails toward a dock. Cut to a plank landing on the dock from the boat. A tall regal woman in Roman clothing walks off the boat. It is Alfidia, with a fifteen-year-old Livia in tow. An Amazon Queen with her entourage walks up to Alfidia.

Alfidia - (smiles) Queen Orithia!

Orithia - Alfidia! Welcome back(looks to Livia) And this must be your young protege.

Alfidia - Yes, this is Livia.

Orithia - (looks to Livia with a small smile) So you wish to learn the way of an Amazon?

Alfidia - I was hoping you could teach her, as your mother did me, the unique skills of an amazon as well as the value of rules and discipline.

Orithia - (smiles and nods) You were a trusted friend of my mother and for many years a great Amazon warrior. We would be happy to impart some of the same wisdom on Livia. Welcome to Thermiscrya.

Cut to the Amazon grounds. Livia watches is fascination as two amazons spar. They fight with great intensity. One Amazon grabs a hold of the other's arm. The Amazon twists around and snaps the arm up breaking the arm with a loud crack. The other Amazon screams and falls down in agony. Livia gasps in shock. Orithia looks down at her.

Orithia - The life of an Amazon is not an easy one. You will need to work hard but you can become one of the worlds greatest warriors and you will always feel apart of something, you will always have a family.

Livia - (thinks about it) I think you have much to teach!

Orithia - Then lets get you dressed. (Orithia beckons an Amazon over) This is Mala, my second in command. She's been with us since she was a child. She in one of our most skilled and diplomatic warriors. Mala take Livia to get changed into sparring gear. She'll be training with us while she and her mentor stay for a while.

Mala smiles and gestures for Livia to follow her. Livia follows the Amazon through the maze of huts. As they pass one hut Livia hears screams of agony.

Livia, curious, moves to go into the hut but Mala holds her back

Mala - You can't go in there! That is the shamaness's hut. She is in contact with the spiritual world. If you break her concentration now you could damage her. (pulls Livia away) Riwia is a sacred individual, while you are here you will need to respect her boundaries and her rituals.

Livia - How can you trust she's doing something she shouldn't?

Mala - (responds like it is obvious) She is an Amazon as I am. I trust her with my life.

Livia - I've learned to never trust anyone but yourself.

Mala - You will learn the loyalty and friendship that comes with being an Amazon Warrior. Come along, your lessons will begin soon and you must change.

Cut to inside an Amazon hut. Livia is getting changed behind a curtain. Orithia and Alfidia enter the hut and appear to be in a heated discussion.

Alfidia - I see while some things have changed, others have not.

Orithia - To what are you referring?

Alfidia - The Amazons are regarded as barbarians in Rome. Many men who have come close these lands have never come back.

Orithia - Those are rumours encouraged by our enemies to spread doubt and fear. We are a reasonable people, willing to negotiate.

Alfidia - Negotiate what? The Emperor, very graciously . . . overlooks your rule in these parts. However, he may see it fit to rule over you one day, especially if he thinks you're a threat, given the "rumours."

Orithia - I know what I intend to get out of this Alfidia. Livia is well looked upon by the Emperor. We train her, be good to her and we will carry favour with the Empire. Thus he lets us continue with the way we live. The question is, what do you intend to get out of this relationship?

Alfidia - You think I like taking on little bastards to teach. If I can fashion Livia into something worthy of a Roman warrior, so great as to become the Champion of Rome, leader of the legions, then she will be taken into the court as will I. Then I will get what I have always deserved. If you help me do this then I will make sure the Amazon nation flourishes for all time.

Alfidia smiles and walks out. Orithia looks weary of the offer but follows Alfidia out all the same. Livia now fully dressed steps out behind the curtain. They did not know she was there.

Cut to Livia making her way through the huts on her way to the training circle. She hears the Amazon Shamaness scream again as she passes by the hut. Livia looks around to see if no one is watching. Livia edges over to the hut. She parts the curtain a little and peeks inside.

Inside the hut. There is a fire in the middle of the room. Smoke swirls around. The Amazon Shamaness lifts a bowl of blood and drinks it greedily. The shamaness throws her head back, blood dripping down her face and neck, and screams. The fire grows bright and bursts into more flames. The smoke turns into dark spirits that filter all around the room. They all flood into the shamaness. The shamaness falls to the floor and begins convulsing with green glowing eyes and screams like a banshee.

Close up on Livia's face as her eyes go wide in terror.

*End flashback*

Fade to an older Eve. We pan out as Eve who is still looking out the window of the Tretomlic Amazon complex. She shakes her head. She turns to Katrina.

Katrina - I am sorry it had to come to this. Morgan has done a lot of good since she's been with you.

Eve - Then we have to make the Queen see that.

Eve looks around the hall. She looks at the dozens of weapons that align the walls. Complex crossbows that can shoot multiple arrows. Double edge glaives and axes even nets, maces, and bazookas. High tech weaponry and devices cover the walls.

Eve - Do you use all of these?

Katrina - We may rely on tradition to keep us strong but we are not ignorant to the progression of the times.

Eve - We could sure use some of this stuff on patrols.

Katrina - Take what you like. You're welcome to it. You are Queen after all and you'd have more use than us. You may need it should you be down one in manpower after this is finished

Eve- Not if I can help it.

A young Amazon guard enters the room.

Amazon - Regent Katrina, Queen Helena and the Aquitaine Amazons has arrived.

COMMERCIAL

Helena, Queen of the Aquitaine Order enters the complex. She is dressed elegantly in blue robes, jewellery adorning neck, wrists and fingers. There is a golden tiara atop her brow. There is a large entourage behind her. She looks more like Queen of the Nile then an Amazon Queen. She smiles and inclines her head slightly as Katrina approaches with Eve behind her.

Helena - Queen Katrina I extend thanks on behalf of the Aquitaine Amazons. The Order of Aquitaine looks favourably upon your hospitality.

Katrina - (confused by her speech and dress but bows anyway and gives and Amazon salute) Uh, well you are most welcome in our home but I am not the Queen only a regent. Eve the Messenger of Eli is the Queen. (steps aside as Eve comes to the forefront)

Helena's followers gasp in shock recognizing Eve from a painting. They all bow down. Helena is shocked. Her eyes are wide. She looks down around at her followers who have bowed. She looks annoyed by this but takes a deep breath to compose herself. She genuflects slightly.

Helena - So the rumours are true. You have returned to renew the line.

Eve - A destiny I intend to fulfil, with Morgan by my side. You told her to seek the path that lies along side mine, that's what she has done.

Helena - She has committed crimes that must be punished and there is only one fitting. Death.

Eve - That's preposterous!

Helena - You have no say on the matter.

Eve - Morgan is my friend and I'm the Messenger of Eli, the same as she who created your order. And as a Queen of an Amazon tribe I think I have a lot of say on the matter.

Helena and Eve stare each other down. Eve narrows her eyes a little as she looks at Helena's intensely green eyes. It stirs some old memories in Eve

Helena - (bitterly) The Aquitaines no longer follow the ways of Eli and a Queen who does not lead her tribe is no Queen at all!

Katrina intervenes before things get out of hand

Katrina - While the crimes are not in dispute, I think we should discuss the form of punishment in a Council of Queens as our foremothers have done in The One Tribe. It is what our tradition dictates. It must be upheld.

Helena stares Eve down before glancing at Katrina and nodding curtly. She whirls around and walks away from Eve pushing over her followers who had bowed before Eve. The followers get up and follow the Queen out. Katrina looks over at Eve.

Katrina - No Amazon Queen has ever acted like that before

Eve - (dwelling on her memories) Maybe she's not quite feeling herself

Fade to Morgan's cell. Morgan is still sitting in her cell. Jeff, James, Craig and Eve are on the other side of the bars.

Morgan - That doesn't sound like Helena. We've always followed the path of the Messenger of Eli and Helena was like a mother not a diva

Jeff - It has been a couple of years since you last saw her. People do change.

Craig - People may but societies don't. Not in such a short length of time anyway. The Aquitaines followed the ways of Messenger of Eli for centuries. Eleanor's way is the very backbone of their society.

Morgan - And she was very dedicated to Eleanor's ways. I mean she's always been strict but she's fair.

James - Death is pretty extreme. Why you, why now, there must be others who have done much worse?

Craig - Regimes often use scapegoats as a means to implement stricter laws in order to have greater control. Fear mongering. If the Amazons feel they are dwindling they may using Morgan's betrayal to implement the older and harsher traditions of the Amazons in order to preserve their society. She's the best candidate because she has broken some of the oldest laws.

Jeff - You've been pretty pensive Eve. What are your thoughts?

Eve - Something isn't right here.

Morgan - Yeah I'm going to die! How does that grab ya?

Eve - Queen Helena is . . . There was a look in her eyes and I've seen it before. I think she may be possessed

Craig - So what do we do?

Eve - You three are going to do nothing. Men can't be a part of this. Morgan and I must meet the Amazons on their terms.

Jeff- You expect me to stand by and do nothing!

Eve - I'm hope you trust in me enough to allow me to see this through. Jeff, I'm not going to let anything happen to Morgan but there is something else at the core that may be out to destroy the Amazons. I can't let that happen either.

Morgan - I trust you Eve.

Jeff - (sighs) If anything goes wrong I'm going in and I'm getting Morgan out.

Jeff walks out with Craig and James behind him. Morgan smiles a little

Morgan - You know its kind of cute. He wants to kick ass for me

Eve - (rolls her eyes and shakes her head) Amazons

*Flashback*

Fade from the cell to Ancient Greece, the Amazon city. Pan across the huts and the amazons training to a fighting ring. Orithia stands in the circle with Livia who is now dressed in brown leathers and Amazon garb. Alfidia is off to the side looking on. Orithia is swinging a staff around and then tosses it to Livia who catches it with ease. Livia twirls it in her fingers before getting into a defensive stance. Orithia grabs another staff and begins with small attacks on Livia. Livia blocks all attacks with ease.

Orithia - Good.

Alfidia - There's no need to be tentative. Push her! That's the only way she'll learn

Orithia - You have your teaching methods and I have mine.

The Amazon shamaness comes into view and stands beside Alfidia. Livia looks at the Shamaness apprehensively. Orithia sees Livia's gaze and turns around to find the Shamaness.

Orithia - Riwia. You've come out of your meditations early, is something wrong?

Riwia - (bows her head slightly) Yes, attacks of our sisters on the western boarder. I'm afraid some of your most skilled and beloved were among those killed.

Orithia - (sighs) Do you know who attacked?

Riwia - Romans

Alfidia - That's a lie! If they attacked, it's because they were threatened

Orithia - We've done nothing to provoke this behaviour!

Alfidia - Do you want me to put in a good word to prevent anyone from going to war?

Orithia - I'm not sure if I can pay the price your "generosity" would cost. (looks back to Riwia) Thank you. You have helped us many times with your visions and your diplomacy. You benefit this tribe greatly and I hope you do so for years to come.

Riwia - Have you chosen your right of cast yet?

Orithia - Yes, Jayna will be a great leader and I know she trusts you with her life. You will help her should I pass on

Riwia looks at Orithia with surprise. A flash of anger washes over her face but disappears quickly and smiles. She looks to Livia.

Riwia - So is this the new charge I've heard so much about?

Orithia - Yes, this is Livia (gestures to Livia and then to Alfidia) and her Guardian, Alfidia

Riwia - The deserter. Yes, I've heard much about you. Did you know the Amazons used to kill those who betrayed their oaths

Alfidia - (stands up to Riwia) Yes, I'm well aware of the ways during the Age of Chaos.

The Amazons gasp

Alfidia - The days when Amazon warriors let demon spirits into their souls to make them stronger in order to triumph against all who dare threaten their way of life. Lucky for me, the Queen said I was free to go.

Riwia - (looks at Alfidia with fire in her eyes) You Roman . . .

Orithia - Riwia!

Riwia - (stops short and takes a breath to come herself) Forgive me. My temper gets in the way of my better judgement. I'm passionate about protecting our sisters (stars Alfidia down) And I can become very defensive when I feel they are threatened

Orithia - (sighs) Before you go please set aside some time tomorrow to train with Livia. I'd like her to understand the ways of a shamaness

Livia - (speaks up quickly) I think I should continue to train physically. I need the practice

Alfidia - She has a point. Shamaness training is a bit (looks to Riwia) frivolous. Don't you think?

Orithia - Not at all. (turns to Livia) Livia, there are many ways in which we become a warrior. Knowledge is a powerful tool. Gather all you can. You never know when you'll need it.

Livia looks over to Riwia who is staring back at Livia with calm malice. Close up on Riwia eyes as the flash green.

*End Flashback*

Flash to present day. In the Tretomlic complex. There is a long oak table in the middle of a judicial hall. The shamaness of the Tretomlic order sits on one side next to Katrina. Eve sits on the other side while Helena sits at the head of the table. Helena looks agitated.

Helena - There should be a throne room!

Katrina - (getting annoyed) This is a community not a hierarchy.

Helena - The Tretomlics ways were always slightly more archaic

Eve - Archaic maybe but not chaotic

Helena - Excuse me?

Eve - No, excuse me but I am finding your ideas about the Morgan's sentence quite barbaric. Banishment is the standard punishment.

Helena - Don't be naive. Do you know why there is crime? It is because people live without fear. I may not control society but I can control the deterioration of the Amazons.

Eve - By reverting to the ways of the Age of Chaos?!

Helena - HOW DARE YOU!

Katrina - Eve, why would you even suggest such a thing?

Eve - Isn't that how things were done during that time? Death and torture handed out as punishment for breaking oaths or defying tradition. Back in a time when Amazons would become possessed by . . .

Helena - ENOUGH!!

Eve - If everyone lived by your rules we'd all be dead!

Katrina - Eve, you may be Queen but I don't appreciate you comparing our traditions now to those of a time that was so horrid we are forbidden to even speak of it.

Eve - If the Amazons hadn't abandoned those traditions they would be extinct. If you return to those ways now you will doom all amazons to suffer and your ancestors will continue to pay the price. Eleanor of Aquitaine would not have wanted this, this is not what she would have taught!

Helena stands up slowly and leans her balled up fists against the table as she leans in close to Eve, menacing

Helena - The Messengers of Eli are hypocrites!

Eve - His messengers know the light because we know the darkness. There is always a choice, there is always a better way! You can create a prosperous future for the Amazons without death

Helena - That's not how the Romans did it. They created a prosperous future by taking over lands and killing all who opposed them and their ways. I'm sure you know all about that! I know all about you as Livia. I've read all the scrolls. I will make sure everyone knows the hypocrite you really are and I will raise the Amazons to new international heights.

Eve - You released those scrolls on to the internet.

Katrina - (shocked) Those are sacred materials!

Helena - Enough of this! The trial will proceed as planned. You may defend Morgan if you wish but you do not have a seat of the council in deliberation of her sentence. You are no Queen and you are no Amazon and the words of Eli and his Messengers do not exist here!

Helena eyes flash green before she exits the room.

*Flashback*

Pan to the left as the hall fads to a training matt in Ancient Greece. Young Livia falls to the ground but flips the other young Amazon over her and rolls on top of the Amazon before she can get up. Livia pins her.

Orithia - Well done!

Livia stands up and smiles triumphantly

Alfidia - Oh please! That was easy. We've been here for over a month Orithia and you are still having her spar with amazons that are equal to her skill. Give her challenge send Jayna out to fight her.

Orithia looks nervous as she looks away from Alfidia

Alfidia - Oh I see. She's still missing isn't she. I think it's time you called off the search. Jayna's probably dead.

Orithia - She is not dead! She can't be

Alfidia - I know you loved her like a daughter. She was in line to have your rite of caste. It's time you chose another

Orithia - Is that all the comfort and kindness you can muster up Alfidia? Rome has made you very callous.

Alfidia - There is nowhere in Rome you can go with kind words and sentiment. Isn't that right Livia?

Livia - Yes ma'am

Orithia - (takes a deep breath) It's time for your lesson with Riwia, Livia.

Alfidia - I've been telling her she doesn't have to go. We've been using the time to train more. She needs it.

Orithia - I am Queen of this tribe and while you are here you will abide by my rules. You wanted me to train her but how do you expect her to progress when you subvert everything I do! Livia has great promise but you are confusing her.

Alfidia - I am her guardian. I know what is best.

Orithia - And this is my tribe. I think you need some time to think about that. (beckons to two guards who takes Alfidia by the arms)

Alfidia - Think about what you are doing here Orithia

Orithia - I have! A day in confinement will give you some time to think.

As Alfidia is dragged away Orithia walks over to Livia who looks surprised that anyone could treat Alfidia like that.

Orithia - Livia, there is only so much I can teach you and after you leave here you will have to make your own decisions but if you can take anything away from what I've taught you, take this. There are many paths we tread down in our lifetime. If you walk Alfidia's path, you will never find your way back

Livia - Back to where?

Orithia - Not where but back to who you want to be. It's time for your lesson. Go.

Orithia leaves Livia and Livia looks apprehensive but takes a shuddering breath and slowly walks to Riwia's hut.

Cut to inside Riwia's hut. Livia enters and looks around. She sees the fire in the middle, animal skins on the ground and talismans and animal bones hanging from the ceiling and lining the walls. Livia hears voices approaching from the outside. She runs over and hides behind a screen covered by firs. Riwia enters with Mala.

Mala - The Queen is very upset. Jayna was her favourite and now she's gone missing!

Riwia - (walks over to the water bowl and washes her hands her voice is low and emotionless) Yes it is quite unfortunate but now you are now in line to have the right of caste. This must make you happy. (slowly takes out a knife that is hidden behind the bowl)

Mala - I would accept the position as a matter of necessity for stability. But I am ill prepared. Will you help me?

Riwia - (hides the knife within the folds of her skirt and stands up smiling slowly) Of course but can you be strong enough to do what must be done, no matter the risk?

Mala - I don't understand

Riwia - We are low in numbers so we must strengthen ourselves from within.

Mala - How?

Riwia - We must draw on the powers of the spirit world both good and evil. By infusing us with those ancient powers we can become strong enough.

Mala - That's dangerous!

Riwia - (grabs Mala by the arm) You know the importance of tradition and how it helps us survive! Walking the Path of Chaos will make us stronger!!

Mala - It's called the Path of Chaos for a reason Riwia! Those ways almost destroyed us!

Riwia - And since then look at what has happened since we gave up those ways. We were once great but now we scattered through out the land living like bandits! We will never survive unless those who are strong enough stand up and take back what's ours! The blood of an Amazon is the only way to truly evoke the powers of the spirit world. I've done it!

Mala- You've been taking the Amazons. It's you who have been kidnapping and killing them! And you are pushing us into a war with the Romans making us think they've attacked us so we strike back! (realizes something) You killed Jayna!

Riwia - She was weak! She didn't have what is takes to do what is necessary! And neither do you!!

Riwia takes out the knife and slits Mala's throat before she has time to re act.

Livia who has witnessed all this gasps slightly and quickly covers her mouth and ducks behind the screen she looks desperately for a way out. Riwia is the midst of her blood lust greedily begins cutting Mala open and drinking her blood, she is chanting all the while. Behind the screen Livia sees a small hole in the hut. She begins tearing at the fabric slowly as to not alert Riwia. She makes the whole big enough and climbs out. In her hurry, however, she knocks something over. Cut back to Riwia who looks up. Her mouth and chin are covered with blood and her eyes are glowing green, she has heard the sound.

*End flashback*

Pan to the right and fade back to the Tretomlic complex present day. Eve runs up to Katrina and takes her by the arm.

Eve - You have to postpone the trial and don't say you can't. Helena is possessed! She is trying to reinstate the Age of Chaos and she is using Morgan to implement these ways. If you let her do this she will not only destroy her own tribe but she will take away everything that every Amazon tribe has worked hard for over the years.

Katrina - Possessed? Now really Eve

Eve - She has read the scrolls. Morgan told me that along with the scrolls about the Messenger of Eli there is the whole history of the Amazons from every tribe in those archives. I'm betting the Age of Chaos is included.

Katrina - But everyone knows the destruction it brought to our people. Why would she willingly reinstate those ways?

Eve - Which brings me back to the possessed part

Katrina - (shakes her head) Even if this were true there is no way to prove it.

Eve - I'm asking you for time!

Katrina - Your time has run out

Eve - If that is so, then so has Morgan's.

COMMERCIAL

Cut to the dungeon where Morgan is. In the jail cell Morgan is sitting on the bench with her head leaned back against the wall as she watches Craig. Pan over to where Craig is. He is swinging a new sword around. Pan over to James who is fiddling around with the harness and bungee cord figuring out how it works. Jeff is holding a steel rod. He pushes a button and jumps slightly when the rod extends into a staff/spear.

Jeff - Wow!

Craig - Tell me about it. You know, despite the circumstances, this is turning out to be quite a profitable venture.

Morgan - (dryly) Happy to take one for the team.

Craig - I'm not joking Morgan. If you make it out of this, we can make some real friends here and give a much-needed update to our arsenal.

Jeff - Yeah, well I'm using this spear to help get Morgan out if she's found guilty. (looks to Morgan) I'm not going to let you die

Morgan - Eve will find a way out. I trust her

Jeff - It's not a case of trust. Those women are not going to listen to reason.

The door creaks open and everyone looks toward the door to find Eve stepping through.

Eve - Hey, what's going on?

Morgan - I'm thinking the Amazons should capture me more often. The boys are enjoying playing with their toys.

Eve - Well don't get too used to them. The Amazons and I aren't exactly on the same page at the moment. I'm continually sticking my foot in it.

Morgan - You couldn't convince them to postpone the trial.

Craig - Which means you have no time to prove that Helena's possessed

Eve - Morgan's trial is the only way I'll be able to expose Helena

Jeff - You're going to use Morgan as bait!?

Eve - Of course not. I'm going to plead Morgan's case to the tribunal, I can make them see the path that Helena wants to lead them down is a destructive one.

Morgan - It doesn't matter what the council says. If Helena wants me dead she'll veto their decision. As Queen she can still call for my death.

Eve - That's what I'm expecting. It will allow me to get close enough to Helena to not only expose her but save her

Craig - Eve what are you thinking of doing here? (sees the look on Eve's face and knows what she is planning)

Eve - I have to challenge her Craig! She'll have to fight me then I can vanquish the demon from her soul.

Craig - Why haven't you done that from the moment you met her.

Eve - Because I've got to play this out on Amazon terms, if I don't we could lose their respect and their friendship and we need all the friends we can get right now.

Fade from the dungeon to the great hall in the Tretomlic complex. There is a platform with three levels upon those levels are chairs. All the Amazons both young and old gather in the hall with a path clearly marked up the center. Helena walks up the path as everyone bows. Katrina and the Tretomlic shamaness enter behind her. Helena sits herself on the chair on the highest platform while Katrina sits herself on the second level chair, the shamaness on the third.

Helena - (stands up) Bring in the accused!

A door at the side open and out steps Morgan in shackles she is pushed and stumbles forward a little bit. An Amazon guard steps out behind her and takes Morgan by the arm and leads her to stand before Helena. Eve who is standing at the back closes her eyes in shame and horror for how Morgan is being treated.

Helena - Will an advocate for the accused step forward?

Eve shakes it off and takes a breath before making her way through the crowd to stand beside Morgan. Eve gives Morgan's shackled hands a squeeze.

Eve - I Eve, the Messenger of Eli step forward as Morgan's advocate

A shocked murmur of the Amazons echo through the hall. Helena steps forward with power and authority. The crowd hushes. Helena tries to stare Eve down but Eve stands unwavering.

Helena - Then we shall proceed (Helena looks up and speaks to all) In the beginning, Eleanor of Aquitaine gathered together members of the One Tribe that had scattered all across Europe and settled in France. She trained them to be her guards. Upon moving to Britain, female druids and priestesses, the last of a failing matriarchy, were also taken under Eleanor's wing. Soon she banded all of them together, warriors, soothsayers and teachers, forming the Order of the Aquitaine Amazons. We are a society built on rules and traditions. We were once a great nation and we were so because we did not compromise our beliefs for "modern ideals!"

Helena lifts up her hand and points directly at Morgan

Helena - That woman has disregarded our honour. She used us as a means to achieve her own ends picking and choosing which rules and traditions she wanted to follow. She abandoned our order, she betrayed her vows and she has coupled with a man! She has compromised the integrity of our order! This will not be tolerated! We must keep our honour intact and kill the cancer that would spread among us! We call for death as the punishment!

The Amazons in the hall scream out and yell their agreement and cheer on Helena who smiles triumphantly. Katrina stands up with her hands open wide bidding the people to calm down. When the cheers have died down Katrina gestures to Eve.

Katrina - Eve, You may present your argument.

Eve - Would you kill everyone who disobeys your orders? Is that how you would rule your tribe, though fear?

Helena - I am creating a stronger and united tribe not hindered by disloyalty and crime. We must purify our order so we can step out of the shadows and emerge into society. As a strong and united front we can reveal ourselves to the world and become a leading Matriarchal force.

Eve - (takes and deep breath and turns to the people) These words have been spoken before by Amazons who were also trying to rebuild their society. They chose a path of violence and it nearly destroyed them. In a time before Warrior Women were called Amazons the warrior Samsara wanted to continue pursuing her vengeance on those who killed her father. She demanded the death of Cyane, your savoir, because she chose mercy, defending another against merciless wrath. Living by those rules the Northern Amazons nearly all but withered away

Helena - You are comparing our situation now with a time that no longer exists

Eve - (turns to Helena)But the tribe exists

Helena - Because their traditions and ways have kept them strong.

Eve - No because their legacy of tempering might with mercy was restored. If they continued on the path of vengeance they would have been wiped out

Helena - Maybe if they had followed that path Livia wouldn't have so easily destroyed them.

Whispers surge through the crowd

Eve - Amazons were regarded as barbarians and savages in those times because shamanesses sacrificed men and amazons to infuse their bodies with demon spirits to become strong warriors. Livia wasn't the only one to persecute them. Amazons were persecuted everywhere. Varia brought them together as one tribe and made them strong.

Helena - She was fuelled by vengeance

Eve - And she was nearly destroyed by it, as was I. She used my crimes and my past as a way of bringing back the ways of violence and vengeance in order to go to war against the Romans. Her lust for blood vengeance and war made her exactly like Samsara, exactly like the Shamanesses who followed the Ways of the Age of Chaos and exactly like Livia. (turns to the Amazons) A Messenger of Eli founded The Aquitaines. You are strong because those have been the traditions that have guided you, you have found ways beyond violence and death. If you follow Helena's path you will die out and your souls will never be at peace.

Helena - How dare you accuse me of leading my tribe to death. You were Livia! You killed Amazons. As an Amazon Queen you've done nothing to help your own tribe. Maybe we should try you for your crimes against the sisterhood as well!

Eve - (walks up the steps to stand eye to eye with Helena) While were at it why don't we try you for your crimes. You released sacred documents on the world wide web. You've read the incantation on a scroll that cautions the travelling to the spirit world because it opens the ways to the Age of Chaos. You've broken sacred laws held by all tribes and now you demand death for a crime where the punishment in banishment. That would add murder to your crimes!

Voices in the crowd shout out to let Morgan go, all agreeing with Eve

Helena's eyes flash green.

Helena - I AM QUEEN! I DECIDE! THE PUNISHMENT IS DEATH

The crowd gasps

Katrina - (stands up with fury) We decide as a council. We are a communi . . .

Helena - (smacks Katrina down who tumbles backward over the chairs) I veto it all and Morgan will die!!

Eve - (rips off Helena's queen medallion) I USE MY RIGHT OF CHALLENGE!

Everyone gasps and Helena looks at Eve in surprise

Eve - I challenge you. Do you accept or yield?

Helena - I accept and I will crush you.

Close up on Helena's eyes and they flash green.

*Flashback*

Flash back to Ancient Greece where young Livia has escaped the Shamanesses tent and is running into the camp. She bumps into Orithia.

Orithia - Livia!

Livia - She's in there! She killed them, she killed them all!! She's evil. I saw her eyes! I saw her eyes!!

Orithia - Livia what are you on about? Where is Riwia?

Riwia - (voice) Here my Queen (Riwia appears, she looks frazzled but the blood has been cleaned from her face and hands) I'm afraid Livia ran off, one of my lessons has disturbed her. She saw a vision, a terrible one that we all must heed

Orithia - (looks to Livia) What did you see?

Livia - No , no

Riwia - (interrupts) The identity of the one responsible for the attack on the amazons and the death of our young ones. Alfidia. It's been the Romans led by Alfidia and now she comes here undercover to kill the rest of us!

Orithia - What?!

Riwia - It is true!

Livia - No! No it's not! She's lying!!

Orithia - (closes her eyes confused shaking her head then gestures to her guards) Bring Alfidia here. We'll sort this out

Riwia - She's a traitor we must kill her!

Livia - It's not Alfidia!

Orithia - Alfidia is hard but she's honourable. She does not kill without purpose

Riwia - She is Roman! She does not need one. I saw it! I saw it all!! I saw it in my vision!

Orithia - I thought you said it was Livia's vision!

Riwia - I . . .

Orithia - Livia what did you see?

Livia - I DIDN'T HAVE A VISION! I hid in Riwia's hut and saw her murder Mala! She also killed Jayna and the others!

Alfidia arrives brought by the two guards

Livia - She's been using Amazon blood to summon demons!

Orithia - (to Riwia) You've allowed yourself to be possessed by demons? Why?

Alfidia - I bet she's also been killing the Romans and soldiers that have passed through here to offer a treaty to join the Empire. She's the reason Amazons are regarded as barbarians

Orithia - Why?!

Riwia - It's not true!

Livia - It is!! Mala is dead in her hut now!! She killed her because she wants to be Queen! She wants to raise a war against the Romans. She's going to do that by infusing all Amazons with demons!!

Everyone runs to Riwia's hut

Riwia - NO!

Cut to Riwia's hut. Orithia runs it and sees Mala's dead body lying in a pool of blood. She sees the abominations on the walls and finds a bloody scroll.

Orithia - Incantations!

Orithia looks at Riwia with sadness and betrayal then her face changes to anger

Orithia - Take her prisoner!!

Two amazons grab Riwia but she pushes them off taking a sword from one of the Amazon's hilt. Riwia kills the amazons then licks the blood off the sword. She opens her eyes as they turn green. Riwia growls

Riwia - (deep voice) Riwia is mine!! All Amazons are mine!

Riwia Launches herself at Orithia who drops the scroll she was holding. Alfidia quickly grabs Livia out of the way

Livia - What are you doing?

Alfidia - You are of no use if you are dead!

Orithia goes down on to her back but flips Riwia over her. Orithia gets back up as Riwia does. Orithia quickly does a roundhouse kick kicking the sword out of Riwia's hands then Orithia spins around down low and kicks the legs out from under Riwia. Riwia falls to the ground. Riwia propels herself back up and jumps up to try and punch Orithia down but Orithia quickly moves out of the way spinning around to catch Riwia by the hair swinging her around to put her in a choke hold.

Orithia - Someone grab the scroll it has the counter incantation to exorcise the demon!

Riwia lifts Orithia legs up making her tumble backward and let go. Livia makes a move to go for the scroll but Riwia moves to attack Livia. Livia stops short frightened of what Riwia might do but Suddenly Orithia runs and tackles Riwia down at the waist. Riwia is able to roll on top but Orithia swings her leg over and flips Riwia off and over. Both women get up. Meanwhile the scroll has been kicked and thrown around. Livia finds it under a bit of rubble she's looking at the scroll but can't read the words. Alfidia grabs it from her

Alfidia - Give that to me!

Orithia runs at Riwia jumping up and corkscrew kicking her in the chest. Riwia falls to the ground hard. She looks like she is not moving and that's when Orithia takes a breath as she stands looking down on Riwia. Riwia begins laughing in a deep laugh and rises from the ground unfazed. She acts quickly and runs up a tree that gives her leverage to do a handless cartwheel kicking Orithia in the face. Riwia then swings around and makes a wild swing but Orithia catches her arm, pulls on it and brings her leg up over it and snap kicks Riwia in the head twice. Orithia brings her leg down still holding on to a stunned Riwia's arm. She twists the arm around to her back and puts Riwia to her knees. All Amazon sink to their knees and begin to meditate putting their minds and spirits together. Alfidia begins to speak the incantation.

Alfidia - Let the bonds of sisterhood empower us, let the powers of good and our ancestors from the spirit world strengthen us. We call upon the forces to expel the demon, which would seek to destroy us. He is one but we are many. We are stronger than the evil that seeks to corrupt. Spirit be gone!

All the Amazon begin to chant the spell including Orithia and Livia

All - SPIRIT BEGONE!

Riwia's head starts spinning and shaking back and forth. She begins to cough up all the blood she has consumed and her eyes glow a bright green. She suddenly squeezes her eyes shut and her whole body emits a green light. She then collapses forward nearly lifeless.

Orithia - (sighs and lets Riwia go) It is done

Alfidia - You should kill her just to be sure

Orithia - No! There has been too much blood spilt on her account. (walks over and takes the scroll from Alfidia) The demon has been sent back to the dark imprisonment where he belongs. (gives it to an Amazon) Relay all that has occurred here on that scroll, put warnings on it and let it be known the horror and destruction it brings. Let all Amazons know that the incantations on this scroll must never be read for we might release the demon.

Alfidia - She was going to raise an army to go against Rome! She was going to bring death and destruction to your people and mine! And you're not going to punish her!

Orithia - (silent for a moment) Look at her, the life is drained from her. She will die soon anyway.

Alfidia - Her own greed and hatred drove her to seek those ways out

Orithia - And you would know a lot about that wouldn't you

Alfidia - I've taken enough of your insolence. Livia is learning nothing but weakness and confusion. Look at her! She's scared witless.

Orithia - She should be

Alfidia - That is not the warrior I want to raise. Come Livia. We're leaving.

Livia turns to leave with Alfidia

Orithia - You don't have to go Livia. You have a choice. Know that corruption does not always come in the forms of demons.

Alfidia - It all depends on what you want Livia. Among these women you'll be just another Amazon, a nothing! With me, we can rule the world.

Orithia - Step down her path and you will not come back

Livia turns around and walks out of the camp. Alfidia smiles triumphantly and follows Livia out.

Fade to the palace. The Emperor sits on his throne listening to Alfidia, Livia is sitting to the side.

Augustus - So nothing was gained from your expedition. A shame. I was hoping to include then into an alliance with the Empire.

Alfidia - They are savages! I thought Livia would learn some sort of discipline but the trip was lost on her and the tribe itself understands nothing of politics. You would do well to just wipe them off the map. Both literally and figuratively, they'd be nothing but a nuisance.

Augustus - I'm sorry Livia, we must be boring you will all this talk

Livia - Not at all

Augustus - Tell us what you think

Livia - Their training was effective but basic, nothing I couldn't have learned from Alfidia. She is a formidable teacher.

Alfidia smiles

Augustus - And of the Amazons themselves, should we include them in a treaty or conquer them?

Livia - There is nothing to be gained there. If we went in we'd lose men. It's just small bits of land, nothing of any great importance. They just want to live their life in peace. I say we leave them alone.

Augustus - (nods) I agree. (to Roman Soldier)Tell all soldiers and Romans to stay away from their lands. If we don't bother them they won't bother us. Thank you Livia.

Livia smiles, bows and exits the room, Alfidia however looks confused and upset Livia has subverted her authority

Cut to outside the throne room. Alfidia runs out and catches up with Livia, grabbing her by the arm.

Alfidia - Why did you do that? Why did you convince him to let them live? You little brat, you completely undermined me. I should have left you with those Amazons.

Livia - I heard what you told Orithia. You need me.

Alfidia - (a little nervous) So why don't you just expose me?

Livia - Because right now I need you. If I am going to get anywhere in this world, I need to fashion myself into what the Romans want. You're right. If you want to have anything worth having then you need power. The Amazons can't provide that so I left them. And make no mistake as soon as I can find someone better, you too will go. Until then, you'll do.

Livia walks off leaving Alfidia stunned.

*End flashback*

Fade from the palace back to present time in the Tretomlic complex. A huge circle of Amazons stand shouting and cheering as Eve dressed in loose brown pants and a leather halter, hands wrapped in cloth, enters the fighting ring. She looks to Morgan Jeff James and Craig who are standing off to the side trying not to be pushed down by the Amazons. Eve nods to them and takes a deep breath. The crowd parts and Helena enters the ring. Her hands are too wrapped in cloth but now she is in ancient Amazon attire, the attire of an Amazon Queen. She narrows her eyes at Eve.

Helena - To the death!

Eve - Not if I can help it!

Warrior drums play in the back ground as the ring is closed off. Helena and Eve get into a fighting stance.

Helena attacks first trying to punch Eve. Eve dodges out of the way and pushes Helena arm back so hard Helena spins around.

Eve tries to get Helena in a chokehold but Helena elbows Eve in the gut. Helena turns around pushes Eve back and kicks her in the face. Helena throws two punches at Eve but Eve ducks and bends low to punch Helena in the stomach twice.

Eve moves to punch again but Helena dodges to the side, spins around and punches Eve in the back. Eve tries to elbow Helena in the face but Helena blocks it, spins Eve around to face her and knees her in the stomach then punches Eve twice in the face.

Eve uses an opening to kick Helena in the gut. Helena tries to punch Eve but Eve dodges the punch and punches Helena in the stomach twice then pushes her off and spins around and backhands Helena across the face.

Helena comes around trying to backhand Eve but Eve catches the arm and hits Helena in the stomach then in the face and flips her over. Helena just flips onto her feet and kicks Eve in the face. Eve and Helena throw kicks and punches both blocking the other. Helena catches Eve foot but Eve just flips backwards landing on her feet then jumps up and spins around and kicks Helena twice then bends down low and kicks the legs out from under Helena.

Eve quickly gets on to Helena's back and gets her in a chokehold.

Eve - In the name of Eli and all the powers of Heaven I command that this evil be cast out!

Helena screams as her eyes glow a bright green. The voice she screams in is not her own.

Eve - In the name of Eli and all the powers of heaven I command that this evil be cast out!

Helena screams and throws her head back and hits Eve in the face knocking her off. All the amazons step back astonished at the behaviour. Helena gets up. Green froth is spilling from her mouth as her eyes glow bright green.

Helena(deep voice) - Helena is mine! No matter how many times you cast me out (laughs evilly) I will haunt the Amazons for all eternity

Eve - Maybe the next eternity, not this one

Helena stops laughing suddenly as Eve sticks out her hand, her eyes glowing white. Helena slides forward in to Eve's hand, her neck held firmly by Eve's hand.

Eve - In the name of Eli!

Helena - NO!

Eve - And all the powers of Heaven!

Helena struggles to get free as blood spills from Helena's mouth. Her eyes glow green

Eve - I COMMAND THIS EVIL TO BE CAST BACK TO THE DEPTHS OF HELL NEVER TO RETURN AGAIN!!

A bright green light engulfs Helena as she screams in agony. The green light bursts and fades into the ground. Eve lets go of Helena. Helena falls to ground weak and drained. Craig and James jump into the ring and catch Eve as she sways a little. Katrina walks over to Morgan.

Katrina - In light of these events, the punishment of death is revoked. Morgan will be tried under Tretomlic law, with fair and lawful consideration of events and circumstances. (releases Morgan from her shackles)

Morgan - Thank you

Morgan hugs Jeff tightly then goes into the ring and over to Eve.

Eve - You okay

Morgan - Yeah! (hugs Eve who hugs her back)

Cut to later in the Tretomlic hall. Everyone is sitting around the oak table. Helena is sitting in a chair in a catatonic state. To her side, her second in command Teresa sits across from Eve and Katrina.

Teresa - We were looking for scrolls to see if there was something that could confirm that Morgan was indeed supposed to fulfil her destiny with Eve. We figured that what must have happened when she did not report back. (looks to Morgan who looks sheepish) We stumbled upon the scroll. We had no idea what it was but Helena kept it. She was curious and was determined to study it further. The warnings had long since faded but the incantations remained the same. That was a year ago. Things started to change from there. Helena became over bearing, strict, opposing the ways of Eli shouting Eve's name as a curse, She was determined to take up the old ways. Despite it all, we had no idea that she was . . .

Eve - Possessed. How could you? Her words in the beginning would seem like wisdom. You wanted change, you wanted to be strong and united. You didn't know those things would come with a high price.

Teresa - Before we knew it everything had changed. There was nothing left of Helena as she called out for Morgan's head. She wanted to make an example of her, a symbol of what happens to all who defy the Amazons. We still wanted to follow her, some of it was out of loyalty, she had been a mother to us all but we wanted to see some of the things she promised come to pass.

Eve - You can still have the future you want. It doesn't need to be done with violence

Teresa - That demon would have really destroyed us all!

Eve - Yes and it was using Amazon laws and traditions to do so. If Helena had been allowed to execute Morgan the demon would have won and Helena would have been lost forever. (to Teresa) You need to burn the scroll.

Teresa - You are our Queen now, we follow you.

Eve - Why don't you take my place. You seem better suited and I think you have the wisdom of your ancestors. Trust your instincts!
