James - I think it's time for me to re evaluate whether I need to be here, whether I want to be here. Your place is here Eve. It always has been but I don't think I have a place here anymore. I think I need to go away for awhile. I'm going to visit my Mum in Jersey. I need to get away from this, I just need some time.

From "In His Eyes"

Voice at the door - Eve?

Eve turns around and looks at James standing there with his backpack and suit case at the doorway. He looks well rested and he is smiling.

James at the door drops his bags and walks over to Eve and gives her a hug and she hugs back with surprise and happiness.

Eve - You're back?!

James - I felt it was time

Eve - (looks down a little ashamed) I didn't think you'd come back at all.

James - For a while I didn't think so either.

Eve - How's your Mom?

James - Good, actually. I told her everything.

Eve looks surprised and a little worried

James - I had to Eve. But she's surprisingly okay with it. She saw that "SQUAD" episode, and after I told her she thought it actually made sense. I also did a lot of thinking about being here, this mission and you.

Eve - Oh?

James - When I left, I was so confused but being away from everything made me realize how much I missed it

Eve - You miss the demons?

James - No . . . I miss being a part of something.

Eve - And we missed you.

James - I started writing again. I've been writing our story and I realized something as I wrote. There were so many times when any one of us could passed over completely into darkness but we didn't. We didn't because you were always there, like this beacon of light guiding us back to what is right.

Eve - I wouldn't be half as strong as I am if it wasn't for my friends. When I ever I doubt myself you're all there to keep me on my path.

James - Exactly. We need each other. (hands Eve piece of paper. She reads it out loud)

Eve - (smiles)"I sing of the Messenger and those who fight beside her. The Wiccan, The God, The Vigilante, The Amazon and . . . The Visionary. I sing of a mission to bring freedom and choice, peace and love, home and light to a world and a time trapped in darkness and demons. I sing of a mission so daring that it can only be accomplished by a friendship that transcends time and all odds."

Eve jumps into James arms giving him a big hug. Fade out of this scene

Fade into a dark sparse room. Danielle is standing there looking defiant and bored. The Masked Figure circles around her.

The figure strikes at Danielle from behind. Danielle catches the arm and flips the figure over her shoulder. The figure lands on their feet and kicks Danielle in the gut knocking her down.

Figure - I know you want your revenge but you must be patient. You're not ready.

The figure walks away leaving Danielle alone. Danielle gets up slowly as she scowls.

Danielle - The hell I am. Get ready Morgan because "big sis" has a little surprise ready for you.

Open with a pan along the Manhattan skyline. Fade to Morgan's loft. Fade into the first floor storage room where she is feeding the hybrids. They are in cages. Morgan slowly puts the food outside the bars within their reach. The hybrids take the food and greedily eat it, wolfing it down.

Morgan - I wonder if that's demon thing or a college thing.

Jeff (voice) - Probably a college thing

Morgan whips around and Jeff is behind her at the doorway, leaning against the frame.

Morgan - (nervous) Hey.

Jeff - How's the rehabilitation going?

Morgan - Slow. (mimics Eve a little) Love and Patience, Love and Patience . . . My love and patience is wearing thin.

Jeff nods and looks around the room trying to pass the awkward silence

Jeff - You wanna grab a coffee or something?

Morgan - (looks to him confused) Haven't we passed the coffee stage?

Jeff - I don't know! I don't know what to say to you half the time anymore!

Morgan - Then maybe you shouldn't say anything at all.

Jeff - Why won't you trust me? We were just getting there until your father and . . . .

Morgan - DON'T! . . .Don't say her name.

Jeff - I'm not like Nick or your father or her. I'm not going to hurt you

Morgan - Yeah but I might

Jeff - What?

Morgan - Let's face it Jeff I'm not exactly a great person. I'm bad tempered, I don't trust anyone and romantic love is not an easy concept for me to grasp. I don't want to hurt you and I just don't trust myself enough not to.

Fade from Morgan running up the stairs.

Fade to Jeff sitting at the bar sort of zoning out as he stares into his glass. He hears a voice from the side.

Male Voice - Well, Well, Well. Look what the cat dragged in.

Jeff looks up and sees a 30 something Chinese man standing there with a bit of a smile on his face

Jeff - Woo Woo Danny Woo!

Jeff gets up and embraces Danny like old friends do. Danny looks at the glass. Jeff catches on

Jeff - Just a cola I swear! Wanna sniff?

Danny - (takes off his jacket and sits down) No, that's okay. I trust you but I wonder what's brought you back this way after all this time.

Jeff - (looks around) Just remembering a time when things weren't so complicated

Danny - Does this have anything to do with that "SQUAD" episode last year and you leaving the force?

Jeff - You make up your own mind on that one but I was put into a situation that was set up for me to fail. There was only one choice I could make and I chose to help my friends.

Danny - And what are you doing now?

Jeff - Free lance detective work and it's working out. I'm still helping people which is the reason why I became a cop in the first place

Danny - Good for you man. I see some of the corruption in the force and wonder if I should leave, start fresh, but I have a family to think about. (looks at Jeff and knows something is wrong) So if that's working out, why are you so down?

Jeff - Women troubles. Well, just one woman actually. It's a long story.

Danny - (sighs)Well I don't know how much I can help you there but it's like this, if you two were meant to be then things should just fall into place. If not, then you got to let her go.

Jeff - (sighs and nods) Enough about me. How about you? What are you doing?

Danny - Wife's good and we're having another baby.

Jeff - Congrats man! (hesitates) And Pez?

Danny - (smiles) Ah . . . I was wondering when you'd ask about our dear Detective Pezzini

Jeff - Well . . . I guess some old flames never die.

Danny - Well Pez . . . You know, sometimes I can't decide whether she's insane or if she's one of the best detectives on the force.

Jeff - Pez is something alright. Of course I wouldn't have gotten anywhere in my life if it wasn't for you.

Danny - Ah don't get all mushy on me

Jeff - I'm serious man. You dragged me out of the gutter and you saved my life.

Flashback

Fade from Jeff and Danny to some Alleyway in New York city

12 Years Ago

Danny and Sara are walking the beat around the streets.

Sara - Am I the only one bored with this?

Danny - (laughs a little) Come on Sara, it's part of the gig.

Sara and Danny are interrupted by a commotion along the outskirts of an alley spilling on to the street. They see a young man of 17 rummaging through garbage cans, holding an almost empty rum bottle in his hands. It's a very drunk Jeff

Danny - It's just a drunk.

Danny and Sara are about to move on when he starts to cause more of a commotion. He is mumbling incoherently pushing past certain people and grabbing a woman by the arm before she shakes him off screaming at him.

Danny - (sighs) Come on. Let's get him off the street before he hurts someone or himself. (walking over to Jeff) Come on buddy let's go

Jeff - (pushes him off roughly) NO!!

Sara - (softly trying to calm him down) Come on, we're just going to go for a little ride.

Jeff - NO NO NO!! YOU WON'T GET ME!!

Jeff pushes both Danny and Sara down and runs into the alley way. Sara and Danny run down the alley way after Jeff. Jeff tries to get away by pushing junk and garbage cans down behind him trying to block their path but Sara and Danny jump effortlessly over the junk and continue pursuit. Jeff looks panicked as he runs and tries to run faster getting out of breath. He looks behind him to see if they are still on his trail and in the process trip over his own feet falling flat on his face. Danny and Sara slow down and slowly approach him. Jeff sees this and tries to scramble away. He's heaving and is drastically out of breath.

Danny - Just calm down We're not going to hurt you.

Jeff slows down a bit and stops his struggling. He takes a few deep breaths and his breathing return to normal. Sara and Danny haul Jeff up on to his feet but he collapses

Sara - Okay this guy has had a little too much excitement for one night. Let's take him home. What's your name man?

Jeff - (mumbling) Jeff

Cut to Jeff in the backseat with Danny and Sara is up front driving. Jeff is half waking half unconscious, mumbling to himself.

Jeff - Sucks . . . . this world . . . nothing, nothing good . . . people don't care . . . they hurt . . . mean . . . and no one cares, no one . . . nothing can be done . . .no hope . . .so cold just so cold . . .

Jeff continues with his mumbling but his words have an effect on Sara and Danny.

Fade to the next day in front of a modest house. Danny in a squad car drives up to the curb just as Jeff with a pack slung over his shoulder and a rum bottle in his hand walks out and slams the door behind him. He seems sober today. Danny gets out and stops him.

Danny - Hey Jeff, how's the hangover?

Jeff - (looks at him confused) You're . . . you're that cop . . . What are you doing here?

Danny - Checking up on you. You had a lot of people upset last night

Jeff - So?.

Jeff tries to push Danny aside but Danny doesn't budge and holds Jeff off.

Jeff - Yo man, what is your problem?

Danny - You are! How can you believe there's no good left in the world?

Jeff - (points to his house) I got proof in there. I call her mom.

Danny - Well, you're right about some things. The world isn't a friendly place but you're wrong when you say no one cares. I wouldn't be here if I didn't. Most of the cops in this city wouldn't be cops if they didn't believe they could make a difference.

Jeff - You'd try to help people? Even when there are people who would more likely kill you?

Danny - Do you want to kill me?

Jeff - No. . .

Danny - Good choice. Choose to do good now and you are good. (looks to the window where a young girl peaks out from behind a curtain.) That your sister?

Jeff - Yeah.

Danny - Do you want her to fall into your path?

Jeff - No!

Danny - Then change. Set a better example. You can make this city a better place for her.

Jeff - (has hope in his voice) How?

Danny - (takes the bottle out of his hand) First, stop drinking. Second, if you come with me I can help you get clean.

Fade to a variety of scenes of Jeff working hard in rehab, meeting Craig, and finally going to the police academy and working hard training until reaching his goal of being a police officer.

Jeff - (voice over) You changed my life Danny.

End Flashback

Fade out from the memory back to the present.

Jeff - And the times have changed since then and the way I do things have . . .evolved but the ideology is still the same and I'm doing it. I'm still protecting people and helping them. And I've been able to help a lot of kids get clean just like you helped me.

Danny - I'm proud of you man.

Jeff - Yeah. Hey you should come meet Eve. She's a good friend of mine. She's started a lot of programs that gets kids off the streets.

Danny - Yeah sure. I got some time. Where's she at?

Jeff - (gets up with Danny and heads out of the bar)New Days Centre? Heard of it?

Danny - Sounds like a motel.

Cut to the centre. Morgan finishes working out on one of the machines and towels off. She takes a sip from her water as she walks up to Eve who is smiling broadly as she works at the counter.

Morgan - What are you so happy about? You're smiling so much I want to puke

Eve - Thanks

Morgan - So, why are you so happy? (stops short when she sees a whistling James go by) Never mind. Hey James! Welcome back!

James - Hey Morgan!

Morgan looks to Eve with her eyebrow raised in interest

Eve - Don't look at me like that. Of course I'm glad he's back. (changes the subject)Have you . . .talked to Jeff recently

Morgan - (her amused mood suddenly sours) Yeah and before you get on my back about it I'm not interested

Eve - In love?

Morgan - In pain

Eve - You cause him pain the more you push him away.

Morgan -(rolls her eyes annoyed) Oh go preach to someone else will you

Morgan stalks off as Eve looks upward.

Eve - Give me strength.

Cut to Morgan walking away from the centre. She's in an agitated mood and is not paying attention as she passes by people in the street. She turns a corner and bumps into someone. She looks up and sees Danielle.

Danielle - Hello Sister dear!

Danielle punches Morgan and stabs her with a tazer gun making sure she is really out. Danielle then smiles evilly and pulls Morgan down an alley and into the shadows.

COMMERCIAL

"Anything but Ordinary" by Avril Lavigne plays in the background at the centre when Eve comes out of one of the rooms saying bye to the people who left the meeting, patting a councillor on the back and stops a little to dodge a few happily playing kids. She smiles and walks back up to the bar. She sees Jeff and Danny come it.

Eve - Well hey!

Jeff - Hey! I want you to meet someone. Danny, this is Eve, she is the girl responsible for most of the good stuff going on in New York, these days.

Eve - (shakes her head) I'm just trying to help.

Jeff - Eve, this is Danny. He's the reason, I became a cop.

Eve - (smiles and shakes Danny's hand) So you're the man who showed Jeff there is good in this world.

Danny - (chuckles) I think you're giving me more credit then I deserve.

James - (walks by) Hey Jeff!

Jeff - Hey!! Welcome back man! (looks to Eve) Now I know why you're in such happy spirits. . .( looks around) Have you seen Morgan lately?

Eve - She was here earlier but she went home. (a bit of a guilty look crosses her face) I kind of ticked her off.(to Danny) Girl troubles

Danny - So I heard.

Suddenly a smoking canister crashes though the window, startling everyone.

Male voice - A BOMB!!

Everyone screams and panics

James - EVERYONE GET DOWN!!

Every one gets down on the ground covering their hands over their heads. As everyone does this Eve runs over and kicks the canister out the window. It blows up once reaching outside and shatters all the windows. Everyone screams again hearing the explosion as Eve turns around and covers her head from the debris. Danny and Jeff immediately act.

Danny - Alright everyone, get up, move out.

Jeff - (goes around helping people up keeping them calm and moving them out in a orderly fashion) Stay together now that's it. Take it easy, no one's hurt, just make your way outside.

Cut to outside. Everyone is outside confused at what just happened. Eve and James are outside looking at the damage done to the windows.

James - Damn. Those weren't even a year old.

Jeff and Danny walk over

Danny - This is going to have to be reported.

Eve - Is anyone hurt?

Danny - Everyone's fine. Scared and confused

James - It's sure going to ruin business though

Jeff - Who would do something like this?

Eve is looking around her she spots a dagger imbedded in a near by tree. A note is attached

Eve - I think it was just to get our attention

Eve walks over to the tree. Danny, James and Jeff follow.

Danny - I should get a team over here so we can look over the site and analyze everything. We'll have a better chance of catching whoever did this if. . .

Eve rips the note off the tree

Danny - (sighs) if no one touches anything

Eve reads the note. Her eyes open wide.

Jeff - What?

Eve - Morgan's been kidnapped.

Jeff - What?!! What does it say? What happened?

Eve - I don't know! It just says Morgan's been taken to pay for what she's done

Jeff - We've got to save her!!

Danny - Calm down. Is there any ransom note? Does someone want to negotiate a trade?

Eve -No (looks to Jeff) We've never had anything like this before.

Jeff- Usually when there is a kidnapping it's because they want something. We don't have anything of value, except our lives.

James - Morgan's dad is rich. Maybe someone knew and wants cash.

Jeff - (hunches down with his elbows on his knees and his head in his heads.) I have no idea what to do. I don't have nearly enough information that I used to. I don't have the resources I did as a cop. Someone's going to kill Morgan and I can't do anything in a city this big.

Danny - (feels sorry for him and kneels down by his side putting a hand on his back) Jeff you've got to leave this to the cops.

Jeff - No (stands up quickly) No, I can't do that.

Danny - I'll keep you in the loop. I'll take the letter and the canister to be analyzed. I'll send you all your old case files to look over. Someone may be out for you. You should also consider contacting Morgan's father. We may need to organize a ransom. In the mean time, write down anything you remember about all and anyone that you're associated with. She's out there, we'll find her.

Eve - (whispers to James) Call Craig and get something of Morgan's to scrye with. Who knows who's got her or what they're doing to her.

Fade from Eve to Morgan unconscious and tied up in the back of a pick up truck. Pan along the pick up truck to find Danielle smiling contently as she is driving in front. Pan out to see two demons sitting next to her.

Fade from this scene to Jeff in Eve's apartment. He is sitting at the table looking at all his old case files. He comes across a box that is marked unsolved. He looks through a file and remembers eight years ago.

*Flashback*

8 years ago

Jeff, now a rookie of the force, is shooting rounds at the firing range. Sara Pezzini walks in with goggles and ear plugs. Jeff finishes his round. He sees Sara and takes off his own ear protection and goggles.

Sara - Hey. This is the fifth time you've been in this week.

Jeff - If you don't use them you lose them. Perishable skills Pez!

Sara - Is there a reason for your good mood?

Jeff - I started talking with my family again. It's part of my on going rehabilitation. My family wants to be apart of my life again and I have you and Danny to thank for getting me on the right path.

Sara - Hey Danny got you on the right path. I just drove you home.

Jeff - You helped me here Sara, showed me the ropes. I owe you a lot.

Sara - (nods) Okay . . . so when are you going to ask me out?

Jeff - (stunned) Uhhhh

Sara - Well, I'd ask you out but I'm the chick

Jeff - (smiles) So you wanna go out?

Sara - (smiles back) Yeah

Fade to a montage of different scenes over a period of time where Jeff and Sara go out on a variety of dates. Bowling, shooting pool, hanging out at a par. Walking down the street arms around each other in the winter or holding hands walking through a park in the summer. They have a casual drink or a casual dinner.

Flash to a montage of different scenes over a period of time where Jeff and Sara are investigating different cases, murder, robbery, or at the shooting range, working with SWAT or just doing paper work.

Fade to Jeff and Pez at their desks. Jeff is looking at the photo of the body of a dead girl lying on the floor of a vacant club. Pez is looking through the case file. Jeff shakes his head in sadness.

Jeff - Tragic the way she died.

Sara - This case is bothering me. Nothing adds up.. Any leads we've had comes up empty. The autopsy is inconclusive. There is nothing to go on and we're running out of time.

Danny - (walks up to them) Correction, ran out of time. The Capt wants us to wrap it up. We have to leave it unsolved.

Jeff just sighs and drops the file in a case and marks it unsolved

Sara - (slams her hand on the desk) I can't believe we're giving up.

Jeff - You think I like giving up? It sucks and it's not what I signed up for but there are other cases out there that can be solved, where justice can be served. That's our priority.

Sara just sits down and scowls while Danny just shrugs his shoulders and takes the case out of the room. Jeff sits back down and sighs.

*End flashback*

Eve puts a hand on Jeff's shoulder and Jeff is jolted out of his memory

Eve - You alright?

Jeff - No. I was just remembering a time not so long ago, where I thought life was complicated. I didn't realize how simple it was back then. I could let things go, focus my attention on what I can do. But I can't let this go. I won't. Morgan's life depends on it.

Danny walks in just then holding the note is his hand and a report.

Danny - Hey. I wanted to give you some info on the analysis! Nothing on the canister, or the letter. No finger prints either except for Eve's. However, we analyzed the handwriting. It was defiantly written by a woman by the use of lines and swirls on the lettering. From what we can tell she's not desperate or frustrated. She's calm. This was planned.

Eve - (hesitant) I don't know.

Danny - What about Morgan? Any one have it out for her?

Eve - She hasn't been here that long. The only person who has been any trouble for her is . . . . Danielle!

Jeff - Danielle hates Morgan! She tried to kill her before and then vanished without a trace. Where would she go?

Eve - Her dad is very wealthy. Doesn't he own a company with storage houses here in New York?

Jeff - Yeah . . .He owns a shipping company, he ships exports from every major dock in the western world.(brings out his cell phone) I've got a couple of contacts, I'll see if there's a Clemont Company in New York and if there's been any sightings on the docks.

Danny - I'll put out an APB

Eve - Don't! Not yet.

Danny - Look, I brought over this information to keep you in the loop but now you have to leave it up to the cops

Jeff - I'm an investigator Danny, I have a license to do this and a responsibility to Morgan

Danny - You also have a civic responsibility to let the cops handle this. Vigilantism is not the way.

Eve - (interjects some reason while Jeff gets on his cell) Danielle is not like other criminals. She's dangerous. The police do not know how to deal with her. We do.

Danny - What is it about this woman that makes you think we can't handle it?

Eve - Trust me on this one

Jeff - (gets off his cell phone) "Gateways" is the company name. There are a few warehouses on the docks. And a "young beautiful brunette" has just been spotted with a pickup truck going into one of the warehouses. Sounds like Danielle to me

Eve - Jeff call Craig, I'll get James and I'll meet you at the docks.

Danny - I'm coming with!

Jeff - Wait! . . . You can't!

Danny - (suspicious) Why not? Are you going to do something illegal?

Jeff - No, it's just . . . The police really can't be involved.

Danny - Too late. Having me on your side will make this rescue operation legit. (sees Eve and Jeff look hesitant) I've seen more then you can imagine. I'm not afraid and I can take care of myself. I'm going with you because you're going to need my help.

Jeff - Danny . . .

Danny - Jeff, you're my friend and you need my help. If it were the other way around, you'd help me too. If we can do some good then we do it, if we can make a difference then we will. So let's get a move on.

Danny gives them one stern look before heading out and Eve looks at Jeff smiling a little and nods.

Eve - He's a good person to have on our side and he's strong. You should think about telling him.

Jeff - Everything?

Eve - Yeah and I think he would understand hearing it from you.

Eve walks out leaving Jeff there alone with the thought.

Fade from Jeff to an unconscious Morgan.

Voice - (gentle at first) Wake up. (Morgan stirs a little) WAKE UP!!!

Morgan jolts awake. We pan out to see she is tied up, her arms tied and held up above her head. Morgan tries to struggle a bit but in vain, she looks around at her surroundings and her eyes rest on a smirking Danielle who does a little wave with her fingers.

Morgan - Well what do you know? I thought I saw the last of you when you ran off after I kicked your ass.

Danielle - (smiles) Well, you know what they say. Life's a bitch. And so am I.

Morgan - Are you such a coward that you have to tie me up to face me?!!! Are you so afraid?

Danielle - Don't be so vain. You know everything isn't always about you! . . . It's about me! You know this chick I'm working with . . . Wow! She taught me just how to get revenge on you! Gave me everything I needed. It's nice having friends in high places.

Morgan - My friends will find me.

Danielle - That's why I brought a few demons along for the ride. As for you, I want you to witness every agonizing part of your excruciating death.

Danielle braces her self and pulls on a rope pulling Morgan up, stringing her high above a large piece of grinding machinery. Danielle pulls on a couple of levers and a loud noise appears. Morgan looks down over the large machine she is hung over. She sees machine's blades start whirling around really fast. Another level is pulled and Morgan is being lowered down into the grinder really, really slow. She becomes panicked.

COMMERCIAL

*Flashback*

6 years ago

Cut to a series of police cars and SWAT vans as they all pull up and skid to a stop, blocking off all entrances to a large warehouse. Dozens of police officers get out and take cover behind cop cars. Jeff and Danny, now detectives, jump out of one police car. Danny immediately takes out a megaphone.

Danny - (megaphone) Assailants! . . .

Suddenly a series of gun shots go off from the warehouse and everyone ducks for cover. Jeff and Danny dive out of the way behind a cop car and take out their guns. Periodically they keep peaking out.

Danny - (looks at the megaphone and throws it away) I don't think that approach is going to work. Ideas?

Jeff thinks for a moment and peaks out.

Jeff - Tear gas. That's our best bet to flush them out.

Danny - And if they don't co operate?

Jeff - That's what the cavalier vests are for. These guys aren't criminal, they're just desperate. There is no need to use force, it will just provoke them.

Danny - You've come a long way since I've known you.

Jeff - (peaks out again and then looks back and smiles) I had help.

Danny - You found these guys! There's going to be a lot of lives sparred today if this works. You'll be promoted. . . . and transferred.

Jeff - Yep. It's a big step!

Voice on Walkie-Talkie - Assailants not responding.

Jeff - (responding on his own) Shoot the tear gas and be ready to apprehend when they are out. Do not shoot, we want these guys alive

Jeff and Danny ready their guns just in case

Jeff - You ready?

Danny - Let's do this.

Jeff and Danny bolt out from behind the car.

*End Flashback*

Present Day. It still bright and sunny on the docks. There are several ware houses around. Eve, James, Craig, Jeff and Danny walk into view.

Craig - I hate this. Broad day light. It's just wrong

Danny - Where are you from that most bad guys wait until the night to commit a crime?

Craig - (refusing to answer) I couldn't get anything with the scrye. Danielle is not stupid; she will have used a barrier to prevent us using anything magical to locate Morgan.

Eve - Which confirmed what we suspected. She has help.

Danny - What are they talking about?

Jeff - Craig's a wiccan. He has special knowledge of the supernatural. This might be what we're dealing with here.

Danny - You can't be serious.(Jeff looks to Danny with a face showing that he is) What have I gotten myself into?

Eve - James, can you sense anything?

James - (shakes his head). Everything is fuzzy. I can't decipher what is true and what is a figment of my imagination. I make a prediction and it's wrong, it'll cost us.

Jeff turns to Danny in an attempt to explain but Danny puts up his hand.

Danny - I don't want to know.

James - It's up to you Eve.

Eve closes her eyes and concentrates. She hears the grinding of a large machine in the background. She opens her eyes and points towards a tall warehouse in the back.

Eve - There

Danny - How can you be sure she's there?

Eve- She is

Eve walks in the direction of the warehouse. Craig, James and Jeff follow in complete confidence. Danny looks around incredulous

Danny - This is insane(follows anyway)

Cut to inside the warehouse. On the upper level, Danielle is leaning against the railing smiling as she watches Morgan struggle against her bonds. Morgan panics as she continues to be slowly lowered in to the machine. On the lower level demons continue to prowl the premises. There is a knock at the door. Danielle looks to the direction of the faint sound. She motions to the demons to surround the entrance. The knock comes again. They wait.

Suddenly a huge bulldozer comes crashing through the door leaving a big hole in the wall. The impact is so large it sends all the demons flying back. Craig jumps out of the bulldozer.

Craig - Mind if we come in?

Craig ducks just as a chakram comes flying in from behind him. It ricochets off all the walls, and corners the demons. They are kept occupied trying to dodge it. Eve James Jeff and Danny come in through the hole. James and Craig go over to stop the demons that got out of the trap of the chakram. Danny sees the demons.

Danny - (astonished) WHAT IN HELL?!!

Eve - That's exactly where they're from.

Danny - (looks to Jeff) This is real? These are the forces you were talking about?

Jeff - I didn't want involve you in this Danny but . . .

They become aware of the sound of the machine and the sound of struggling above them. They look to see Morgan hanging over the machine about to be lowered into it.

Eve - Morgan!

Jeff - I'll get her!

Jeff runs up to a ladder to get to the upper level.

Eve - (looks to Danny) You're frightened. I know. Go now Danny. You don't want to be a part of this. We were wrong to bring you here. You're not ready.

Danny - No . . . No I want to know what is going on. What are you fighting against?

Eve - It's what we are fighting for, what you fight for everyday. Life.

Suddenly Eve chakram comes back and she catches it just as a demon runs over to attack. Danny put his gun up and shoot but the demon continues to run toward them. Eve spins around and uses the chakram to slice the demon's head off. She turns back to Danny who is shocked.

Eve - Guns don't work on these creatures. These creatures and people like Danielle try to destroy everything we work so hard for and corrupt the people we try to protect.

Suddenly another demon runs to attack Eve and Danny.

Cut to Jeff as he reaches the upper level. Danielle looks at the demons currently being occupied and beaten. She then looks back to Jeff who is approaching quickly. She rolls her eyes as she sighs in annoyance.

Danielle - (looks to Morgan) Could you hang on for a moment? (bursts out laughing looking at Morgan's situation) Hang on!! I slay me!

Cut to Craig as a demon flips towards him. The demon swings a long fingered claw at Craig. Craig ducks and uses his sword to swipe at the demons feet. The demon jumps over the swipe. The demon swings around and knocks the sword out of Craig's hand. It then swings around and kicks Craig in the face. As it moves to strike again Craig dodges the blow, grabbing the demon by the arm and flipping it into a wall. As it gets up, Craig somersaults over picking up his sword. Craig swings around and slashes the demon in the chest, swings around and kicks the demon twice in the face, then swing around a third time and chops the demon's head off.

Cut to James as a demon has grabbed on to his arm. James swings the demon around and kicks it in the gut. The demon punches James in the side and he falls down winded

James - Little rusty!

James then jumps up and punches the demon in the head the bends down low to knocks the feet out from under it. James then picks up a sword and slices its head off.

Three demons approach Eve and Danny. Eve ducks as one demon reaches her first. She lifts it off its feet and flips it over her shoulder on to its back. Eve then punches the other two down simultaneously.

Danny stunned doesn't know what to do. Eve gets up enough strength and slams the demons into one another. Still holding on Eve flips around, slams the demons into each other again and then flips the demon over on to their backs. Craig throws Eve a sword and she does a handless cartwheel over and chops one demons' head off. The other demon gets up to attack but Eve head butts it, kicks it in the side and spins around and chops off both it's legs before she spins around and chops off the demons head. Eve looks over to Danny and sees a lone demon coming up behind him.

Eve- Danny look out!!

Danny turns around and kicks the demon in the knee sending it down on one knee. Danny then swings around with a swift round house kick, kicking with such force the demon flips over on to his back. The demon propels it's self on to its feet. It throws a kick but Danny flips backward dodging it. In mid flip Danny picks up a fallen sword. He holds it awkwardly against the demon. Danny swings around and slices the demons head off. Danny sees what he has done and is still confused by the whole ordeal. He drops the sword with a clang. He turns to Eve but her eyes are fixed on Morgan still struggling and Jeff and Danielle about to meet.

Cut to Jeff as he stops short seeing Danielle coming to cut him off. He sees a rope tied to a wall and unties it. He gets up on the railing ready to swing. Eve sees the movement and readies her chakram. Just as Jeff swings across Eve throws the chakram and it slices through the rope that holds Morgan. As Morgan falls Jeff catches her in his arms and swings across the grinding machine landing safely on the platform on the other side. Jeff quickly gets the rest off the rope off Morgan's hands. She instantly hits him.

Morgan - What did you think you were doing?! I could have been killed!!! (she jumps into Jeff's arms hugging him tightly) Thank you.

Danielle screaming as she jumps over and tackles both down

Danielle - Bitch!! I'll get you!!

Danielle throws Jeff out of the way and jumps on Morgan trying to strangle her. Morgan flips Danielle off her and propels her own self up with her feet. Morgan spins around to kick Danielle down but Danielle blocks the kick. Morgan is surprised but keeps on the defensive. Every kick and punch that Morgan throws at Danielle, Danielle blocks it with matched strength and vigor. Morgan swings around to backhand Danielle but Danielle blocks and holds on to Morgan's arm. Danielle then hits Morgan in the stomach and then in the face and then flips Morgan over into the wall. She is about to punch Morgan out when Jeff kicks Danielle hard in the stomach leaving her winded.

Jeff - You know, I don't hit women but for you I'll make an exception.

Jeff lands a huge upper cut punch on Danielle sending her flying off the railing and on to the lower level. Jeff helps Morgan up and they both jump off the second level and land on their feet to surround Danielle. Suddenly Danielle pulls out a gun. She points it wildly around her threatening to shoot. Everyone steps back hands up but Danny brings out his gun and points it at Danielle.

Danny - Put down the gun!!

Danielle - NO!!

Danny - Put it down or I'll shoot.

Danielle - SHUT UP!!!!

Danielle begins to shoot wildly around her and everyone including Danny runs for cover in order not to get shot. Danielle screams madly as she continues shooting.

Voice - ENOUGH!!!

Danielle stops shooting. The masked figure with two demons behind her walk out of the shadows.

Danielle - (laughs) Oh, you're going to get it now.

The masked figure walks up to stand by Danielle. Suddenly the masked figure punches Danielle and knocks her out. The demons picks Danielle up and drag her into the shadows. The masked figure stands there for a moment and looks at a surprised Eve. The figure gives slight nod and walks back into the shadows.

Craig - Why didn't they attack? They could have ended it?

Eve - They don't want us dead . . . .yet.

Morgan runs over to Eve and the others. Eve gives her a big hug

Eve - Are you okay?

Morgan nods and then looks over to Danny. Jeff clears his throat.

Jeff - Um . . . Morgan this is a good friend of mine. This is Danny Woo. Danny this is Morgan.

Eve - He helped a lot.

Morgan - Thank you

Danny just nods then turns and leaves.

Jeff - Danny! Wait! . . . I'm sorry.

Danny - (turns around) Sorry? You're sorry!! I just found out that the world is full of monsters like some sort of freak show and the whole world has gone to hell. Everything that I believe in, everything that I have worked for means nothing! And to top it all off you and your friends run around dealing out vigilante justice! You're no better then the monsters you fight!! Outside the law, outside the rules!

Danny turns back around and walks out of the hole left by the bulldozer.

Jeff - Danny!! . . . (shoulders sag, defeated and rejected not knowing what to say)

Eve realizes this scene looks familiar

Eve - DANNY!!

Eve runs out after Danny

Cut to outside Danny is walking away from the dock at a quick pace. Eve runs up and gets in front of him blocking his path.

Danny - Get out of my way.

Eve - No! You can't just run off like this.

Danny sighs and looks at her waiting

Eve - Danny, please understand why Jeff didn't tell you. Would you tell people the horrors you saw today?

Danny - They'd think I was insane

Eve - We get blamed a lot for the violence we're trying to stop

Danny - Really? It looks like you're perpetuating the cycle

Eve - How would you fight them?

Danny - With the law

Eve - They don't exist with in those rules. Why can't you understand that? There is a world that is beyond the laws of our society but as a police officer you can help us protect this world and stop the one that is trying to take over

Danny - My whole life has been a lie! Everyone is hiding in lies. I've worked my whole life to protect lies! Everything I've done means nothing! And you're apart of that

Eve - No, we are not that different. You protect people from each other, from criminals; we protect people from evil, from demons. We give them a choice; you give them a second chance. We are both working for the same things, we just have to fight for them in different ways. Please Danny, please try to understand.

Danny - I don't know what to believe anymore

Danny bypasses Eve and leaves her standing there on the dock.

Fade from Eve in to a dark chamber. The masked figure hits Danielle and she goes flying across the room. Danielle tries to get up but the figure kicks her across the face knocking her down and making her bleed from the mouth.

Danielle - (crying in pain as she tries to get up) We could have taken them! Why did you stop me?

Figure - In order to achieve ultimate victory you must annihilate your enemy's body, mind, heart and soul! For all your planning, you would have never destroyed them all. They would have banded together and risen up stronger against you! Why do you think it is so hard to destroy them? The only way to do so is to know everything they know, to match and exceed them on every level!

Danielle - But I've found another. He can beat Jeff and he already has his doubts about them.

The figure turns away and is silent for a moment

Figure - I already knew about him which is why I allowed you to continue with your idiotic plan. You put into motion what I need to succeed in convincing him to join us. And that is the only reason why I do not kill you now (whips around and backhands Danielle with such force show knocks her out)

Fade from the figure to Eve at the centre with Craig and James.

Eve - This figure . . . who ever she is, she is manipulating things somehow. Danielle ran away, angry and upset. This figure made an offer to train her to get her revenge on Morgan.

James - Carrie . . . She ran off and that figure was involved that day. You don't think . . .

Eve - I don't know.

Craig - Is that why you talked to Danny? Hoping that you could get to him before that figure does.

Eve - Whoever she is, she is planning something and she has orchestrated events to fit her plan. We need to work out what that is. We have to be ready.

Fade from the scene to Jeff as he sits in his office/apartment just thinking. Morgan knocks at his door and then opens to walk in. She stands there with a bit of a sad smile.

Morgan - Hi. . . I'm sorry about what happened to your friend today.

Jeff - Yeah . . . me too.

Morgan - You want to talk about it?

Jeff - Not much to talk about. It's not like I regret what I've done with my life it's just . . . I wish it could have turned out differently especially with Danny.

Morgan - Me too, there are some definite things I'd like to change.

Jeff - I wouldn't change meeting you.

Morgan - (surprised at his comment but happy, she walks over and kneels in front of him) I wanted to thank you for what you did today. You went to a lot of trouble for me when you didn't have to.

Jeff - Yes I did! You were in trouble and I had to help you. I care about you Morgan, more than you know. I . . . I love you.

Morgan - I love you too

Close up on Morgan taking Jeff's hand and squeezing it

Cut back to Jeff and Morgan looking at each other and smiling. Morgan leans in and kisses Jeff. He kisses back.

Fade to night at Danny's home. Danny sits there in a chair with a small light on the side table. He just sits there, thinking about the days events. His wife walks up and puts her hands on his shoulder in a comforting gesture.

Sheila - Are you okay?

Danny - (sighs)Yeah . . . yeah. I will be. Go to bed. I'll be up soon.

His wife gives him a light pat on the shoulder before heading up. Danny sits there for another moment before the phone rings. Confused he looks at the clock wondering who is calling at the late hour then picks up the phone.

Danny - Hello?

Voice - Danny Woo.

Danny - Yeah? Who's this?

Voice - One who can help you get what you want.

Danny - What are you talking about?

Voice - Aren't you upset at Jeff and Eve for putting you into a situation they had no right to expose you to.

Danny - (beginning to have doubt) . . . They thought I could handle it . . . They were trying to save their friend . . . I wanted to help.

Voice - They have stripped you of all your beliefs and values. They have made you think your life's work mean nothing. Wouldn't you like to change that?

Danny - No . . . I can't. Vigilante justice is not the way . . . it's not . . .

Voice - Eve and her kind perpetuate the problem of demons. They only keep things status quo so they can continue to have a reason to break the law. They are criminals. Will you stand for it or will you put them away?

Danny - I don't know how.

Voice - I can help you.
