Uen years are counted from the Dark Time (called DT or 0 ADT), with all post-DT dates denoted by ADT (after Dark Time), and all years previous to 1 ADT being followed by the suffix BDT (before Dark Time), counting backward..Thus, the approx year that humans first settled in Uen Country would be expressed as 505 BDT, while five years before the Dark Time would be expressed 5 BDT. [see TIMELINE] The Dark Time itself expressed as DT or 0 ADT.

There are no months in Uen, instead, years are divided into "seasons" as follows: First Winter would be equivalent to early January - late Feb; Spring Thaw [or just simply "Thaw"]: late Feb - mid April; Spring: mid April - early June; Summer: early June-mid August; Autumn: mid August - early October; Fall-Winter: early October - mid December; Ombra: mid December - early January. Each season consists of 60 days, excepting Ombra which consists of 13. A Rainbow's End year consists of approx 433 days, with an extra day added to Ombra every 10 years to compensate for excess minutes and seconds. A specific date in Uen is noted as follows:

There are two ways to speak a time in Uen, comparitively (i.e. "a tick before noon" would be 9:36 Terran time; noon and midnight would always be used as points of reference), and objectively (the number, and if necessary, change: i.e. it's 08 would become "it's eight" and 8.5 would become "it's eight and five".  The tenths label after the five would be implied)

More commonly, however, Uenese people speak descriptively about time, i.e. "twilight", "mid-morning", etc.

[In other words, don't feel pressured to use this time system unless you want to.  If I ever post time references, I will include a converted Terran time next to it so you players won't have to think to hard.]
