Sora Ashbury is very tall at 6' and lithely muscled. She possesses great inner and outer strength and has eyes the color of amber, along with sun kissed coppery skin. Her thick, but straight auburn red hair is most often braided back with a leather strip and dangles to her waist. Personality wise she is quiet, fair and determined.

In the year of 99 ADT, following the event known as the Teacher's Tragedy, Sora was invited to assist Jenna Cummings in her riding classes, in order to help take the burden off of the devastated woman's shoulders. Several years later, she began to assist another teacher, helping to ease more of the burdens caused by a well-populated Academy. (Archery, close combat/survival.) Academically, she can be found teaching excess student groups earth laws, diplomacy (along with her Bonded) and mythology. She has become an overall Assistant and Substitute teacher enabling many regular teachers and instructors the luxury of having days off and leaves of absence, when needed. Students have jokingly titled her the 'Replacement Killer', a title Sora has nothing to persuade.

Having a wide variety of talents, Sora has always pushed herself to succeed. She is stubborn and relentless, never asking less of herself than of others. Skilled in close combat techniques and weapons use.

And as with everyone, this woman has her share of unfavorable points. She is honest to a fault and speaks her mind, never taking favorites among her students. She is disciplined and a soldier at heart, but when her ire is up, she has been known to show a subtle side that no one on the recieving end is quite able to retaliate against. This passive aggressive streak often worries her Bonded, for he fears that one of her superiors will suggest she be posted away from the Academy.

Hands down the worst aspect of Sora's personality is her lack of affectionate emotion. No one can deny the love she shares with her Bonded, but no one but he has ever recieved her gentle words or kind smile. Not that she does not smile- it is just that she does not seem to be openly fond of anyone. And though she has friends among the teachers and unicorns, they too have never seen her entirely relaxed or able to break down. As for touching others, she does not like anyone to invade her personal space and not many can ever recall seeing her touched or touching another outside of her classes and actual combat... Tide, aside.

Having seen her share of hardships in the line of duty, such as losing her beloved sister in 108 ADT, Lt. Ashbury has a physical condition that she finds unacceptable. Her finely honed body bears a hideous scar below her left ribs. It ends in claws that drag across to the right side of her body and meld into a terrible burn that encompasses the whole area of her back from the center to just above the hollow there. A gift from a dissident mage-talent who tried his best to kill her.

Sora is thirty-two years old in 111 ADT.

Sora is Bonded to Tide, a blue stallion of 16.5 hands. His talent is that of being able to create a vacuum beneath the surface of pools of water, thus creating a vortex, or whirlpool to occur. A fierce and solid fighter, he nevertheless preaches care and forethought. He is not above chastising 'corns, no matter who they are, about the necessity of careful consideration.

Not the most loved unicorn due to his need to play teacher to everyone, he is nonetheless a gentle type and his rebukes are never meant harshly.

Tide is the filly Splash's father and to the deceased Fathom and brother to the wildborn, Waterlark.
His mate is Gusty, also his 'Cha mate.
